Interested in backgrounds

I have an arts degree too (though my major, Geography, is equally a science subject) and while I've always copped flack for doing that, it's not a useless degree at all. Many jobs just require you to have any degree, and as well as that, completing an undergraduate degree really opens up a lot of options for post graduate study.

Generally I find the people on BL to be much more intelligent than the average cross section of people you meet in real life, especially the majority of druggies you come across in the real world.

More than halfway into an Engineering degree at Uni.
Looking back on things I might have given a few chemistry units a go in first year, but I'm still content with my choice

Im a tradesman. Seems like all the other people here are uni kids. Typical of the stereotypical drug user, well educated and stuff :P.

I'm a music student, studying jazz.

Everything I know about drugs and chemistry I taught myself.

Have been interested in HR and pharmacology and the like since I was young, I joined BL when I was 16, I always dreamed of studying chemistry and maybe neuropharmacology but for various reasons I'm not very good at studying, I barely manage to get by with what I'm studying now and have postponed it due to various reasons actually.

I agree BL'ers as a whole are a very intelligent bunch, I've met a few in RL and a couple of them are good friends of mine now. :)

I think there was a thread like this in the second opinion forum before too.

But anyway I have an undergrad psych degree and have worked in related fields for a while.

Some of the info on bluelight has been quite useful to me work wise

Personally I am studying marketing at TAFE right now, I am not enjoying it as much as I hoped and am looking at other study options for next semester or maybe next year. If I don't find any viable options I will stick with it for now.

I work part-time from home, actually got the job through a BLer actually, who would of thought employment oppurtunities on a drug forum! Haha.

I agree BLers are an intelligent bunch and generally good people. I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of bluelighters and all in all they're a great bunch of people. One in particular has ended up one of my closest friends. You know who you are ;)

I just want a job in a profession where i can put the few decades of knowledge and experience i have to good use... Drug guidance counselling or something like that would be really good...

It's a good idea man. I'm going to be doing a youth drug counseling course at tafe shortly (funds permitting).

I'm an Arts student. I have no idea what I want to do with my life, and Arts seems like a good way to kill some time, and also provides a forum for me to mildly inconvenience as many people as possible.

Ha, look at all this intelligent folk around. I completed a Diploma of Graphic Arts and am currently doing a Degree in Visual Communication.

Have been interested in drugs since I first chucked on a Jimi Hendrix album probably. Ha.

Maybe I'll design some blotter one day..

Haha nothing wrong with that man, so long as you've got a job now right? :)

Unfortunately no. I have been unemployed for three weeks now. :(

I've had a couple of interviews but they have been to far away from where I live and or to low of a wage to except them, they all tried to get me on board really hard though which I guess says good things about my CV and how I performed in the interview =D

^ Yeah man it's a bit of a bitch... I am being a bit picky now though.

A few mates reckon I should go for a Marketing Manager position but I think I'm a little to young for that, I do have a lot of experience for my age though and have always been the youngest in my work place by 10 years and still done a better job then others that had been there for years.... A friend put in a good word for me with Audi for a Manager position though so hopefully that turns out well.

Bachelor of Engineering here. Finished that degree now doing my masters while gaining experience in the field :D

More than halfway through medicine. Not sure what field to go into yet, or even if I actually want to be a doctor. It's rather interesting though at least :)

Come from a military family and am currently undergoing an adv diploma in multimedia and design. I began experimenting with drugs when I stopped drinking and went to my first rave.

Due to losing a family member to a herion overdose I decided to remain educated in this field and now act like a walking encyclopedia for my friends who choose to experiment aswell. And I attempt to teach them my 3 rules of drug use.

1. Only take drugs to enhance you mind or experience never to escape.
2. Do your research first before you buy.
3. To avoid addiction space each use 3 weeks apart (excluding special events and holidays)

Addiction to drugs, more so recreational substances isn't all that common mate. It's when you hit the ground with depressants that you need to worry about addiction.

It's all too easy to fall into chronic depressant use because it's so easy to take the drug and think - i want to feel like this my whole life.

It's more of a parranoid precaution than an educated rule. But yeah I'm aware that most recreational drugs aren't physically addictive but as you said it's pretty easy to take the drug because you want to feel like that all the time.

Finished a communications degree & am now in the process of completing Honours.... duxed 5 out of 7 subjects in my final year of high school, but I should probably add that drugs weren't a part of my social agenda until I turned 21.

BL is merely an extension of my fetish to discuss, exchange, learn - and essentially - communicate with others about one of my favourite topics of interest.
