insomnia help

I'd have a frank discussion with your doctor. I find most don't have any problems if you go in there and ask for a z-drug by name, explain to him the situation, and you will probably walk out with a script. Benzos are the ones that might raise alarm bells if you went in there and asked for them. z-drugs aren't really considered abusable in the way benzos are.

yeah i did a bit of reading today, didn't realise benzo withdrawal was so epic lol.
can understand why they don't want to get people hooked on them.
i'm heading to the doctor tomorrow so i'll have a chat with them.

hmm i think i read somewhere else on the forum the seroquel made a girl mix up her words a bit.
i can only handle a few nights of 25-50mg before i notice i can barely talk and have increased full body twitching and rls pain during the day.

i feel if i go any more than say 3 nights of this use and it will only get worse.
anyone else experienced anything like this off low doses of seroquel only at night?

woops, sorry to multi post

^ Not seroquel, but ziprasidone and risperidone turned me into a zombie 24/7. I'd want to sleep all day, could barely get anything done, couldn't think or speak coherently sometimes. I was on a low dose of both of those as well if I remember correctly.

well i didn't take any seroquel last night, and even though i didn't sleep, i feel better.
was def getting the symptoms i mentioned from it, not twitchy at all and can string a sentance together easily.
i guess it just wasn't meant to be :)

No. You need to lighten up. Chew on some Vlaerian root and exercise.

or...

visit your local GP and get a prescription for some Temaze, Nitrazepam...or better yet, to avoid the path of addiction, get some restavit (doxylamine succinate)....it helps.

just thought id add stilnox CR 6.25mg is fucking shit
got 2 hours of sleep, tried to redose with double the dose and no good.

has nothing on zopiclone for inducing and maintaining sleep :(

^ Yeah that is a low dose for them to make CR. I was thinking that just the other day.

Crush them up and use them like that, at the risk of sleep walking, sleep eating, sleep fucking and sleep cliff diving apparently.

I have done all the above bar sleep cliff diving on them.

Apparently I'm a dud root when I'm sleep fucking. got bored of it within 2 minutes.

i remember none of this. I think my girlfriend may have taken advantage of my vulnerable state too. who knows what she did to me.

its for use in the elderly and children lol
again, dunno what the Dr was thinking, there is a 12.5mg dose.

i need something that will keep me asleep after i fall asleep, so crushing them wont do any good, will just have to take one or two with 1mg of xanax maybe

Sorry, didnt read any other post, but try sleeping with the tv on. Might sound stupid, but do u suffer anxiety at all? Again I apolagise for not reading the whole thread. Im serious tho.

this thread kinda turned into a bit of a FAQ anyway lol.

i have a bit of tininess so i need the tv on low otherwise my sense of hearing stimulates its balls off and the sound of silence becomes deafening!

so i agree with the TV thing, just on low on a sleep timer so when you doze off its all good.

i say that as i sit here with the TV on waiting for my dose of stilnox cr to send me to sleep, but not much luck.

Tony Delroy, on ABC radio always does it for me...my radio in my bedroom runs ABC 24/7, it sems my body clock peaks about midnight, but that doesn't work for me as i have embarked on a course of study. I still wake up tired, but at least i am well informed, as I just listen to all types of random shit...

my suggestions to help reset your sleeping patterns are..

1) Try taking a tryptophan supplement. 4-5 hours before bedtime.

2) Drink warm milk about 2 hours before sleeping

3) If you have a smart phone such as an iphone... you can download binaural beat generators that can help you sleep. They work for me when I have trouble sleeping (find the delta/theta tones).

4) White noise or relaxing ambient music.

5) If it's cold. Make sure you wear socks to bed.

Any combination of the above in any order would work well :) give them a go.
