I suck at the IV thing, big time. I'm about 2/6 on success right now, the first two time were a 25g needle and then I went out and bought 10 at CVS, they didn't have 28g I ended up getting 32. Which is way too small for tar. The plunger is so tight that pushing it gradually is impossible, it takes so much pressure that when the plunger goes it goes in a spurt and could blow out a vein I am afraid. Also it's impossible to register before shooting because the plunger is too tight, can't draw back without pulling the needle out.

IVing is fucking difficult and I don't want to waste 2x as much tar smoking it while never getting as high as a simple IV shot will do. I think tomorrow I'm getting some 26 or 28g syringes and give those a try, fuck 32s.

32's? I had no idea they sold 32's at a pharmacy! I've only had 31's before.

Want to trade? =D

Here's a picture of it. That redness has happened before with heroin:

http://i53.tinypic.com/2vay1dj.jpg

That's kind of weird how it is stretched sideways. But, it doesn't look really inflamed to me. Is the red line where you injected? What gauge was the needle you used?

28g. I'm not 100% sure if that red line is exactly the point of injection but I believe it is. Yeah I thought it was weird how it's stretched sideways too, but it has happened exactly like that before so I'm hoping it's nothing serious.

I would put some triple antibiotic ointment on it.

If it's inflamed/swollen you could try a heat compress, but I don't think that it's inflamed/swollen.

Artery Fun

Hey All,

Tonight I had a huge scare I will not soon forget. Im not big on IVing, but I scored some dilaudids - Malinkrodt 8mgs and have been playing with them for the last week. I shot an 8 in my right arm crook, but I had to give it several stabs due to my poor needle skills, and after I finally got it in the vein was sore. I loaded another 4mg in around 40 units of water and decided to try a new vein.

On my right hand wrist, on the left side, there was a prominent blue vein that I could see without needing a tie off. I went in (not very deep at all) and got some blood in it.... it was pretty red but I didn't think much of it. I shot the little shot and a few seconds later uttter hell approached. My entire hand felt like it was in a fireplace and an insanely intense tingly sensation ensued. My hand instantly swelled up and I could barely move my fingers. I was scared as FUCK! I didn't know if I hit a nerve or what, but I soon figured out that this was a an standard artery hit case.

Well this scared me half to death... I have been reading on it and heard you can get gangrene 10 days after the incident and long-term damage, and there's almost nothing you can do about it. The pain started to subside and the tingling as well over the course of an hour or two--- I took 3 expired aspirins and a xanax to ease my mental anguish. After reading some Blue Light posts about the topic, I decided I should go to the ER to be safe.

They checked my oxygenation in the fingers, the capillary reflexes, and brought in some dude that knew a lot about IV issues from working ER in the bad parts of LA for some time. He told me that although what I did is very risky, and there is no certainty this wont cause long-term complications, 4mg of dilaudid in 40 units of fluid more than likely will not cause a huge issue, especially considering the speed in which my swelling & symptoms went down. Also, the main artery is on the right side of the right wrist, and the artery I hti was a smaller one responsible for lesser blood flow to the hand. Doc said in LA he saw this thing happen all the time and most of the time its not a death sentence. This helped me breathe a bit.

The whole experience scared the shit out of me and I am still worried about future complications, but a little relieved the doctor doesnt think my hand is doomed to amputation.... Anyway, any thoughts on this? Im gonna take aspirin for a few days to reduce chance of clots forming... anyone have a similar experience? I feel really dumb for letting this happen. I planned to start suboxone treatment tommorow and that was my LAST IV (hopefuly).

Ughhhhhh!

four days ago i tried to mix a somnubene 1mg (flunitrazepam) into my regular 160mg oxycontin shot. somnubene are small tablets that contain blue, eatable colour. the shot turns dark blue, but after micron-filtering, it looks clear. still dark blue like ink, but it's clear. many junkies in vienna (austria) shoot this WITHOUT micronfiltering, just cotton, or even without ANY filter! crazy, i know.

i shot it, got a bad feeling, my heart felt bad and so i only suck and swallow them now. flunitrazepam is the only benzo you can get in vienna. sometimes oxazepam and triazolam, but 98% of the benzos on vienna's black market is flunitrazepam. lol you guys in the USA don't get that stuff, right? it's illegal i read on wikipedia. too funny. you got better H though... our H varies in quality between 0 and 10%, and it' heroin-base. we got a lot of roofies. ^^ i'd rather choose the good H than the roofies.

it's weird that my heart felt bad. most likely it was because i was scared of the blue colour and i got a panic attack. it's weird because half a year ago, i used to inject 5 of those pills everyday (micron-filtered, with my oxy/morph shots). now i'm too careful and i know everyone says that eatable colour doesn't harm the body, but i don't believe that. heroin-base is coloured with brown colour here in europe, and people inject it for decades. but blue colour? the shots are dark blue, just like ink.

dunno... better not do it again, just stick to my oxys.

I couldn't find water solubility info online regarding flunitrazepam, it's really interesting that many people inject it.

I'm wondering why you experienced what you did, even with micron filtering. Very weird.

i know it is barely soluable in water. people in germany cook the hell out of the "rohypnol" (brand name) of the company "roche". the flunitrazepam must be moderately soluable in hot water, because they cook it and inject it right after cooking, still hot. when you use cold water, it will also dissolve, but not that much. eating it (or putting it under the tongue is much more effective. but heroin/oxy/morph/any injectable opioid + flunitrazepam gives a slightly different (for some people: BETTER) rush than the opioid solo.

benzos should be taken sublingually/orally and maybe up the nose, but not injected, that's my opinion. i speak of benzo-pills. if i had pure powder of any benzo that's injectable, i would inject it of course.

i've read in the german drugs forum (www.drogen-forum.net), that with benzos, only the ones with the suffix "zolam" are water-soluable. don't know if that's right. but midaZOLAM is water soluable, it has a methyl-group on top of it, right? i don't know.

you CAN inject flunitrazepam, but the effects are not worth the immense loss of the substance, as very little dissolves (you have to put 2-3 pills on the spoon when you inject with COLD water, instead of 1 that you would have eaten, or a pill that you inject after cooking, still hot), and the danger of IVing pills. IVing pills is only worth it when there's a substance in the pill that's worth shooting. oxy, hydro etc. but not fluni.

The exceptions would be alprazolam, triazolam, and estazolam, which all have very poor water soluble.

me either

im on the east coast but my pin of choice is 30g 1/2" 1cc. That seems to be the smallest ive ever been able to find for 1/2"

for 5/16" you can get 31's around here, 32's would be sweet

I guess I don't have very visible veins but I never had a vein I could really use a 25g on...I mean possibly, guess I never tried cause 27g was big enough for me to leave nasty marks

Injected mephedrone 2 days ago. Immediately following injection the injection spot was numb to the touch, 45 min later it stopped being numb but I now feel a slight pain in my arm when I flex it straight or angled. It still hurts 2 days later. I don't remember this happening after many instances of injecting heroin although it's possible it did happen I just didn't feel the pain. Will this pass?
sounds like a miss..but i've missed a partial mephedrone shot and was fine...shit mixes up clear as water.

but if the pain gets worse, you knwo what to do

Doing damage to what? Are you re-using your rig(s)? How many times?
If you are using your rigs more than once, your doing damage. The amount of damage you are doing is increasing each time you use the same fit another time.

Thank you...that was the answer i was looking for

If you are going to re-use an insulin syringe (not recommended, as you can see the diagram above, re-used needles dull exponentially quickly as they are reused again and again), then I would run water out of it post-use. When you want to re-use it, run isopropanol in and then out of it, followed by water in and out of it. You can do this once more (isopropanol and then water) - the water afterwards helps make sure there's no leftover isopropanol in your syringe.

Bleach can also clean out an insulin syringe, but I find isopropanol works fine.

If you can, please, use a new needle every time. Your veins will thank you in the long run.

so i finally might have a real injection problem. i feel like an idiot... heres the story

come wednesday i got off work. i had not done heroin in a good 3-4 weeks. i was incredibly bored... so i decided to throw myself back into things.

wednesday ended up doing a few shots... thursday a few more... friday i noticed that one of the injection sites was swollen and slightly red. i did not really think much of it and used different sites.

saturday i wake up and 2 inch up and 2 inch down my arm is now red. the area is not horribly painful. i can move my arm around fine, but if i press on the area it hurts. the area is slightly tender and slightly hot.

come tomorrow i am going to go to a doctor if it does not go away. im hoping its not an abcess. if it is hopefully it can be treated without lancing. ill keep you kids posted.

they prepare a suspension of flunitrazepam rather than a solution. flunitrazepam is definitely NOT soluble in water.
