Injection; IV Complications and Information MEGATHREAD and FAQ II - show me the blood

It sounds like, and looks like, an abscess to me. I would go to the ER immediately.

I'll keep this thread open until you get back from the ER so you can let us know how your trip went. I hope you are OK as well as everything working out for you.

I can assure you it's not going to get better. Please go to the ER as soon as you possibly can.

I wouldn't say this if there was any doubt in my mind; the pictures you posted clearly look like an abscess that is only going to eventually get worse. The sooner you get into the ER for treatment, the less painful it will be to deal with it.

If you are concerned about going to the ER for any reason please PM me, I am sure that you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by seeking medical treatment as soon as you possibly can (if it's at night where you live, I would go the next morning as soon as you possibly can).

Go to the ER. Either they check it out, it isn't an abscess, you go home...
Or, it is an abscess, they treat it, you go home.

It does look like an abscess. Not going to get that thing checked is a bad idea.
 
Yep.. that's definitely not good. You need to see the ER now before it gets worse and lose an arm.

I'm an IV roxi user too and I know what you mean when you find a pet spot and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore. You should always rotate inject spots and sterilize them as well as you can so that infection doesn't occur.

Hope you get well soon. If you ever need advice or support. I'm only a few miles away from you. So you have some BL support with the BL :)
 
Jesus christ!...ya know....my friend Drew had some shit like that. But he never went to the ER. He was fine. But he's also an asshole...deff go.
 
yea, I still think that the link I put in the first post has an article that has the right information to scare her into going to the ER. i hope she reads it, and responds to it. Im not trying to "scare" you in a bad way, im just trying to make it crystal clear what risk you are taking here, and even waiting a few extra hours can cause more damage. Allthough, i think you should be allright if you go to the ER soon.
 
OFFCIAL UPDATE....Went to Broward General...(slowest hospital in SoFla) and the results are in....I managed to give myself a pretty bad infection...They told me if i would have waited it would have gotten much worse....So thank you everyone for all your help!!!..Taking antibiotics for a week..Will let you know how it goes...Thanks again for the Love and Support<3

Ya know whats funny...after I posted before about my friend Drew, I realised he took anti biotics and did a at home puss draining too cure it. I was going too suggest something along those lines but the real doctors already beat me to it! Glad too hear it's just a minor infection. Make sure too take all the anti biotics though, dont stop just because it looks better.

Mabe this whole experience will change your outlook on IVing. I though I fuckied up my vein. My arm wa going numb, pain in the upper arm, the vein had pumps and went under this skin. Thankfully it's been 4 days and my arm feels and looks ALOT better....no more IVing for 80. I plugged a few roxys the other night. Honestly, the rush wasnt AS good as slamming but deff still there.
 
Can you please stop with the big purple font.
You will get less responses from people when you use colored font like that.. it's hard to read and many people will just scroll right past it or not even bother reading your thread.
 
It's good you got that checked Bella. It's probably better if you stop the IVing. All the hospitals here seem to have a long wait, given that it was Sunday morning and they have more sick & injured people always over the weekend.
I've had better luck at Memorial Pembroke. (University @ Sheridan) I recently took my son there and it was 7 am on a Wednesday and the waiting room was empty. I'm glad you're gonna be ok though.

Glad you went I wish i would have had BL back when i had one cause that thing HURT and i now have a Huge scar on my leg that looks like some one cut a chunk out of it.
 
I am so glad you got medical treatment. I had a feeling that it was only going to get worse if you waited.

So. Like an asshole I sauid I wouldnt shoot again, and did. I shot and I missed a shot of blood (I dar a lil blood back when I finish and shoot again...I know dumb) my hand didnt get all redy and hurt at frist but like 2 hours later it swoll the fuck up. Anyway, I been taking anti biotics and asprin, it reached its worst at like noon today, and since then its gotten better...just a missed blood shot? or something more serious?
