Infected Mushroom AMAZING!!!

i'm from israel so i've seen enough of them in my day...
i think israel is the psytrance capital of the world!

Seen IM a 4-5 times now. Catch them once a year when they head to AU.

Agreed, they are fucking phenomenal.

There was a gig they played at an outdoor festival in Victoria, Australia in 2003. As they started their set at around 5am in the morning a spring electrical storm rolled in, along with the new stuff they'd produced from IM the Supervisor it was an experience I will seriously never forget.

Their new album Viscious Delicious was due out 06/06/06 but their record company had some issues so the release date has yet to be set.

Did the motivation for this thread begin because of the recent Electric Daisy in LA (which is where they live and produce from now)?

I bet it does have a pretty big scene. We get a lot of artists from there that play over here in Tijuana, Mexico.

israel is one of psytrance's biggest areas... psy even gets played on commercial radio stations there. from astral projection to astrix, phonokol to hommega, it's a huge scene with big parties, lots of producers, and lots of labels.

not sure about psytrance capital of the world though - one of the things about psy is that it's such an international scene...

yea i kind of heard them live last year at WMC in Miami....

Ultra wasnt letting anyone bring in camera's or anything so instead of ditching my $500 camera and catching IM....I just heard from outside the fence....what lil bit i did here was pretty good though...

Infected Mushroom playing at Earthcore's 10th Anniversary 2003... nature accompanied their live set with a thunderstorm... lightning flashing above us in the hot summer night sky... (Ruski - you know what I'm talkin' about!!!) ...right before their set somebody dropped to the ground right in front of us flipping out that he was getting abducted by aliens or something... freaky shit... the look in his eyes was dreadful :\ But soon as they managed to move him away from the crowds... the stompin began and gosh almighty what a set... probably 10 hours later the event ended with Shpongle... bliss :)

A lot of the psy producers I listen to are Israeli and there are plenty of Israeli's at Australian psy parties, infact they often dominate the scene (also tends to attract the Jewish crowd too, seems to be in our heritage :)).

Germany/Israel are definatley two of the big psy capitals of the world.

ruski,

yeah for sure. but the scandinavian scene is freakin' huge as well... from twisted night-time through to progressive, the northern european scene is really influential. then there's brazil which has enormous parties; the UK scene is incredible, with festivals and parties and raves; japan, where lots of producers live and work; australia has a pretty awesome community too, and that's before we get on to south africa, which is absolutely kicking right now :D

[edit - are you in australia man? i seem to remember you are :) lots of great things happening back home :D]

i'm getting to the point where i no longer consider infected mushroom a psytrance act. for me, the shine has definitely left them....

I saw these guys in Denver last night. Unfortunately the venue was overrun with retarded 16 year olds on too many drugs, but it was still an amazing show regardless.

That was the best shit, my favourite raving memory. Best. :D

I've seen IM several times, and every time they manage to increase the energy. I always make a point of going out to see them when they are within driving distance. Except for tonight in Philly, 'cause I was spinning at this place in Queens (which kinda sucked). In retrospect, I wish that I had turned down the gig and gone to Bang! Oh well, there's always next time.

By the way, what is everyones' favorite IM track or album, and why? Just curious to find out how BLers like their psytrance.
My personal favorite is DWK, from B.P.Empire.

i like b.p. empire in its entirety - a cracking album.

i'm really not a fan of vocals in psy. i can appreciate their genius for creating soundscapes and fucking with established norms, and i genuinely love a lot of their music. but i don't ever reach for the new stuff - i always find myself going back to classical mushroom or b.p. empire!
