talbott has fired robo, their old sound guy, and have hired someone new. the sound is much much better. we journeyed in there saturday and the sound was great. however, just to be safe, we will be going in before the event to check sound, and if need be, things will be fixed. but now that robo is out of the picture, we think things should be fine.

yup...this past Saturday it was rockin and clean.

I was there about 2 months ago and I agree...the sound was utterly pathetic...just disgustingly dirty and distorted.

it is much better now....>>coming from an audiophile myself<< ;)

I do however agree that Glaude pushes levels, hopefully he'll take our friendly suggestion. hehe

Sound is good.... the vibe will be great... still sucks that this is on a Thursday.... but I will come so next time it can be on a FRIDAY :)

Physix,

Im suprised you are not up there on a regular basis with it being one of the few regular house music scenes in the city, and it obviously seems like you havent been there in a long while when the sound was very bad... yes, but they have re-engineered the sound there recently and it surrounds the entire room in every corner. There are subs on multiple levels of the dancefloor, and highs in every corner of the room. The DJ is now on the stage and not tucked back in the corner. We were just up there on Saturday for thier Halloween party to promote, and the sound is phenomenal up there. There wasn't a single person standing on the dancefloor. It is that good.

There is a reason why we chose this venue to do the party and NOT fusion. Because THE SOUND & atmosphere at Talbott is more than sufficient enough to handle a world class DJ.

SOUND

I think the sound was solid for the DJ DAN show! I was dancing on the dancefloor, then by the bar, then upstairs I sweat through my shirt.

Seth - you are such an AUDIOPHILE!

Definately sounds worthwhile. Indy is kinda far. I'll see what BBB is up to. That would suck. Plus, we'd both have to work the next day.

is taalbottstreet going to fix their soud befor this event? the place is really nice but the sound sucks.

I am not ready to battle Serendipity. She has got some bomb ass tracks that just MAKE the crowd move. Who knows what tricks (or tracks) are up her SLEEVES (pun intended) I got a difficult draw and I feel like I'll prolly be out after the first round. SERENDIPITY = TKO (Totally Killer Ohms) -- Still the undisputed House jockey of the midwest!

Aside from owning great records, she can actualy mix them well too! Better have your headgear and mouthpiece on lock.

On annother note....."PUT YOUR HANDS UP!"

" I hail Donald to be one of the most entertaining DJs in America to watch live." DJ Dan

A veteran DJ for over 15 years, Donald Glaude has cemented his reputation as a crowd-rocking favorite and one of the most in demand artists in the country. He is one of those rare DJs who perceives their role to be that of an all-around entertainer and performer. He exudes energy, dropping track after funky track, arms aloft, and has been known to join the dancers on the floor. It is the combination of these ingredients that have helped him create a unique connection with his audience.

His DJing career began inauspiciously in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington, just outside of Seattle, with a pair of mismatched turntables and a Radio Shack mixer. In the clubland vacuum that existed in Tacoma, Donald had to teach himself to mix. After mastering the basic skills, Donald began DJing in various clubs around Tacoma and Seattle. He made several important connections during that time, including a friendship with another aspiring DJ by the name of Dan. Later, DJ Dan would convince San Francisco's Funky Tekno Tribe to let him play at one of their parties. Donald soon became a permanent resident of F.T.T. Donald's knack for working the crowd has earned him a huge underground following and has positioned him as one of the hottest DJs on the rave circuit. Alongside crowd pleasers like Carl Cox and DJ Dan, Donald whips the crowd into a frenzy at such annual events as Together As One, Cyberfest, Audiotistic, and Cool World, to name a few. Donald is consistently one of the biggest draws of the annual Moonshine Overamerica tours and with his popularity, can be routinely found spinning in such cities as Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Denver, Vancouver, Toronto and in his home town of Tacoma.

Off The Hook was Donald's first mix for Moonshine Music and was the first mix CD that Donald has produced where he has been able to select and mix his own choice of tracks. This mix unleashes Donald's own inimitable style, displaying the skills and energy that have made him one of the most exciting DJs to emerge in recent years.

In between releases and the demands of his rigorous touring schedule, Donald has been concentrating his efforts on producing singles, such at “Soul Cha Cha” and “To The Soul”, both of which can be found on his, “Mixed Live Donald Glaude, Buzz, DC”. In early 2001, Donald, along with his business partner, Bradley Eklund, have launched Respect Recordings – the first single off this imprint is “Blue #1” which is very reflective of Donald’s live sound.

The Mixed Live series is dedicated to the handful of DJs that can only be experienced live – Donald’s dynamic, animated and energized persona definitely categorizes him as the “must see” talent. The historical Buzz event at Nation in Washington, DC was the backdrop for this monumental night. With an over-capacity crowd on hand to witness history, Donald, admittedly “a little nervous at first”, quickly found his groove and tore it up.

For his "2nd Session" Donald stepped it up a bit and became the first DJ to record a "Mixed Live" outside of the US. Turnmills in London was the venue and the crowd went nuts! To top that off, "2nd Session Donald Glaude, Turnmills London" will be presented in Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The DVD/Audio will include interviews and shots from the event.

Not only is Donald dedicated to his craft, it is his amazing ability to connect with the crowds that makes his sets transcend mere mortality.
