Rogue Robot said:Sorry Chris, but with an attitude like that, you wonder why people don't come out and support the Tuesday nights. That's quite a rude thing to say considering I'm one of those people who play four on the floor more often than I play broken beat.
Gary WAS trying to bring more genres into the Tuesday night. And as I recall, I played one of those nights. Aside from the technical difficulties that I had, with the assistance of Gary and Jeff, the rest of my set went very smoothy, and people enjoyed it. I also enjoyed myself. But if that's the kind of night and crowd that you only want at the Melody Inn, so be it. I, on the other hand, will enjoy whatever is actually left of the EDM scene here, minus the elitism.
I really wouldn't hurt to broaden the horizons of Tuesday night to bring in other talent that play that apparent four on the floor that you apparently no longer care for. Indianapolis is too small to have a clique of elitists fucks who think that broken beat is the only music to exist, regardless of the name of the night.
Truthfully, I'm a little hurt by your statement, and I thought you of all people would be more welcoming to a multi-genre night.
Rogue Robot said:And, you know, there was a time when on Tuesday nights a certain someone pissed off enough fucking people that wouldn't return to the Melody Inn for quite sometime until the night was handed down. Is there a need to happen again? Seriously.
I'm glad that the dnb people have their own night with plenty of people coming out, but really, it wouldn't kill to have a little bit of change once in a while.
It's still a bad idea to keep things segregated. Indianapolis is too small. It's not going to change until people get their heads out of their asses. End of story.

yeah... I played one whole house tune from 1997 'ORE' You're gonna love me (stonebridge poppers remix)
I think it was a whole fucking four minutes of four on four... holy tits on a goddamn stick
It wasn't a whole set... so![]()
Rogue Robot said:well, i'll use the excuse that you've used before chris: some of us have obligations that we need to tend to the next morning, and sorry, but my education is far more important to me than supporting a weekly have i've been supporting for the past 6 years. so, if you people can't get that through your heads that it's a tuesday night even, that's not our problem. i make it out there when i can, but getting up at 7 am has never been my cup of tea, but i have no choice.
so
school > tuesdays at the mel
get over it.
did you also forget that most of us are pretty fucking broke, too?
Sea Monkey said:I welcome diversity.
tha-Doc said:I love how me saying that night that is SUPPOSED to be broken beat (which doesn't just mean d'n'b) shouldn't be booking full sets of techno prog stuff is somehow construed as me saying that only d'n'b should be played.
huh? is this another reference to how my penis ruined dnb in this city?tha-Doc said:And references to when Geek was killing the scene on tuesday nights for two years with an unaffiliated weekly are more or less moot
tha-Doc said:naturally... wow... let's get defensive eh?
and trust me... I've been complaining about it being on tuesday night for a long ass time. Makes no sense really... the scene isn't big enough for a week night. I've always said that it should go down on the weekend... but I guess I don't run a weekly so I should shut the fuck up eh?
Of course school is more important... just like me working third shift and paying my bills is more important.
Don't know what the attitude was all about
