You need to get to know some girls first, probably in a non-party/drinking atmosphere. Study groups, intramural sports, clubs, sporting events, music events, etc. Lots of girls don't acknowledge guys right away. You need to make some type of impression. Don't over-do it. Just casual conversation. Make them laugh, start slow. If you just want to get into their pants, girls are usually aware of that. Some of them may only want sex but you can't expect them to just start lining up at your dorm room door. Get active in school functions. UF has plenty of those I'm sure.
Some people do the party hook up thing, which is fine, but sometimes being all drunk around women doesn't make the best impression. Find someone with some common interests so you have somewhere to start. It can be hard in a college atmosphere because there are so many guys hitting on girls all the time. Just try and be yourself around them and be confident and take it easy on the booze. If you are into drugs, there are plenty of girls that like to party and get fucked up. The drug scene may not be your best option but a common interest is a common interest. Find a chick that smokes weed and smoke her out.
