IN, Bloomington - 04.02.05 Saturday - No Laughing Matter - *REVIEW*

Thanks GEEK (and others) for putting on a great birthday BASH for Myself, Diane, and Nathanial. I had an absolute blast! Even ran into some really REALLY old faces that I haven't seen in over 3 years. That's my fave part about going to parties. ;)

So besides waking up on Monday sounding like a man, ??!? I had a great weekend. It was nice to see everyone, and for the first time ever, I wasnt tired at 6am. Possibly could have been the 'well rounded' meal I ate friday night, helping me to sleep SOO soundly. :) Ive never worked so hard at/for a party before, it was all worth it!


Ok, I might be blowing his cover.. but Mr. Devine was really nice to me on Friday!! It was absolutely pleasant!!

And then my feelings for him went back to normal once the 'important' people showed, good going kid. :) But whatever, I still love ya.

I cant believe some kids drove from minneapolis!!! WHOA!! thats some dedication, and if someone terrible would have happened to the party, I would have felt the worst for them. :)

OH OH OH! Tien found a digital camera, it looks like a 21 year olds, just cause there are bar pics on it. If anyone lost a digital camera, just pm me or email me at [email protected] to describe and retrieve it!

I found a cell phone, when I opened it, it said, 'I kill Fags' my face was in disgust, then I asked Daniel if he knew ###-#### this number, turned out it was his phone, and he's gay so the lil message was justified. LOL!

And the best find of all... 2 number ones

finders keepers loosers weepers. :) No, but I will be happy to give the camera back!

Geek- I love you. :* Your party was everything that could have been expected! You threw a fucking rave in Indiana, come on, when was the LAST time that happened?! wait, did elevate go all night?! I dont remember...

It was nice to see everyone out! All of the DJs were great, NO MATTER what they were spinning, DUH!
 
No Laughing Matter was awesome. I had a great time. The upstairs was dope. The whole event had a great vibe and no drama. Saw a lot of faces from South Bend who came down to rep and met a lot of new faces from around the way. Log2 defintely had the sound on point. Dan & Woody, it was great seeing you guys. Geek & Mason, you cats did a great job. Thanks for having me down for the show. I snapped a lot of images at the event. I'll post a link later this week.
 
Louisville was there reppin' da ville.
Nasty Nate played a GREAT set and had the kiddos dancin' which was great- wish there'd been more people to hear him but we understand he was up against the great ladies and they deserved it too.
Listened to the guys after him for a bit but that was kinda it, i mostly wandered around and caught up with friends i haven't seen in forever.

For the record: I have now been to TWO parties in IN which means curtis, renae, et. al. are now due a trip to the ville.

Good job by all who were involved... interesting venue, cool visuals upstairs, good sound upstairs.
only complaints:
1) Bloomington, oh Bloomington...why do you have to exist at the end of really long, winding roads? ugh.
2) the sound downstairs was *ok* but the monitor placement kinda sucked (it was pointed at the DJs' knees) and it was so cranked that the sound was real blurry...

thanks for a nice, friendly time.

shame u left... b/c they just did a basic "routine stop", 2 b expected... THEY DID NOT EVER ENTER THE VENUE!!... so they we're never a threat
they we're outside of t. venue 4 just moments.

fisrt off - THANK YOU geek. i was sick all day saturday & was pretty tired, but i could not stop smiling - this party was fucking unbelievable.
i wouldn't have asked for $$ for the gear if i wouldn't have had to fix my tire - this party was just fucking awesome.
i only got to see a few dj's unfortunatly - but all the ones i saw completely rocked it. - chocolate - ...that jackin funky shit i love (as oppsed to funky jackin ;) .
the two guys playin downstairs between 11-12 - i wasn't so sure when i first walked into the room, but after listening for a minute - you guys straight rocked that shit - scratchin just kicks fuckin ass. NICE.
reid speed & analyze were dope as shit - ...god, i love bass & smokin hot girls .... & huge sound systems & lasers & ravers & glowstix & music & people dancing & freee birthday cake....etc....
unfortunatly i ended up leaving early (2am) so i could get some sleep & fix my car in the morning for the drive back. but all has worked out - all i can think about at work is saturday nite...

Just got my ass home from a crazy weekend.... had a great time at the party... All around good vibes, this has to be one of the few parties i've been to where security wasn't being completely ridiculous... It was fun to see how much chemistry reid speed and annalyze actually had. 8o You can definitely count me in for the next one =D

its only been 12 hours since i left the indy airport on my last run to attempt to get the girl on the planes...

just talked to both of them... even after airline stress they are happy and cant wait to come back and not be sick so they can party with us...

there wasnt as many people there as there were supposed to be... but everyone who did comes sees what a party should be like...

even though tiring... and stress ful... the weekend was an overall success in my eyes cause the talent and every one had a dope time and the place was propper....
 
amazing night

first off, when I came to the venue, the words "CREAM" on the front, i was excited! The venue was proper.period. The upstairs was beyond all expectations, the sound was awesome, lasers were awesome, and I was so happy about not having to set up the video screen. Thanks for the last minute call Geek, im so glad to be a part of such a great party...everything clicked.....correctly that is...(no hard drive jokes please!!)

Good job guys! Everything went smoothly, Geek found my CDJ-1000, I met some cool heads, Headknockah avoided kicking these two morons asses, and lots of people gave me cigarettes! Thanks for an awesome show! Geek, you still owe me some of that lasagna. lolz.
 
props to everyone who made the party such a great atmosphere. Nice to see a bunch of people who love music to get out together. we took off a little after submerge went on but the party was killer and I can't wait to go to another one. especially in btown... Annalyze & Reid Speed was a killer combo I wish I could hear it all again!!

I'm finally rested and at a computer.

Man, this party really wore me out.

Brandon Kaye's first set was great. Nice variety of different sounds (altho' I thought you were gonna drop some jungle in the mix, too?) I didn't hear the second time you played with Colin but I'm sure it was rockin' too.

I didn't leave the dancefloor during Submerge's set. It was proper techno. Although timing was kinda bad. Alittle too fast and too hard for that late (or mayb I'm not used to proper rave times anymore).

Although I enjoyed Reid and Annalyze, I must say:

PRACTICE MORE SCRATCHES.

2 1/2 hours for the same four basic scratch patterns is beyond too much. And no more 2 1/2 sets. I was hoping it was over after about 90 minutes.

At any rate, proper party to all who were involved!!!!

I'm officially going out and saying that until shit gets better, the only promoters in Indiana that I will trust for putting on proper events are Colin B @ Bulls and, now, Geek. Rave on!
 
by the way who the hell is the VJ cuz the visuals was off the fuckin chain........i want a fuckin dvd of dat shit i want i want who ever can get me in contact wit the VJ holla at cha boy peace
