I really don't think your anxiety is CAUSED, per se, from the hydrocodone. I study psychology and I think it's possible you're literally psyching yourself out. You're associating negative thoughts with taking the meds and causing a feedback loop that ensures you experience anxiety.
While it IS possible your body just doesn't tolerate opiates well, I think it's more likely the association you've made mentally between taking an opiate and it producing anxiety. Being intolerant to even low dosages of opiates is more likely to manifest by way of nausea.
If I were you, I would try my absolute hardest to have a set and setting prior to ingestion that promotes relaxation. When you go to take your medication, DO NOT, for even a second, think about the fact that you may get anxious. Keep it out of your mind. Take it and put a movie on and zone into the movie. If you do not tell your body to experience anxiety when you take the medication, there's a chance you won't.
That's my 2 cents.
(I have experience with this. The first few times I took Oxycodone I was completely opiate naive and had no idea what an opiate felt like. I was also irrationally afraid of drugs and the potential dangers, so that combo had me having panic attacks the first few times I got high from the Oxy. I shit you not. I truly 100% feel your situation is similar. I went on to a 2 year + Oxy habit having me top out at about 60mgs a day. So what does that tell you about being capable of beating the anxiety you're facing? Tackle it from a mental perspective first, and if that doesn't work, it's likely you're just intolerant to opiates in an uncommon way Good luck!).
