Improvements to Pillreports?

^Yeah people forget to RATE THE REPORTS - Ive said in a load of threads, if you dont trust the report give it a thumbs down and vice versa.

is there a section on pillreports dedicated to listing the dud/piperazine pills floating around.. like for example, a link on the main page for users to click on, to compafre their pill with those crap ones floating around
(example: there are about 4 different piperazine pills going around adelaide).
Just an idea :)
 
no worries bear :) i did spot some new threads on the main pages about this on BL recently. I hope you dont mind me adding another idea, dont get me wrong I think BL and PR are great sites.
I noticed on pillreports there isnt alot of promotion for Bluelight. I only saw the site in the "sites we like" section, however after scrolling down and spotting it on the left side of the page. Could it be moved?
I discovered bluelight through a mod mentioning its a sister site only about a month ago.. yet I've been using pill reports.com for much longer than that.. Which makes me think that alot of others may be in the same boat!
Advertising on PR maybe? Would it cost to add a banner?
And to add something about cost, i saw RavenousBlonde's comment about financing the changes. I noticed on PR that there was a donation drive held. Whats happened since then?
Have you found another financier > or are the admin relying on donations?

Hi Trancefreak - Of course we dont mind any suggestions, if it helps to improve the site for everyone then keep them coming.

I cant really answer these points about making Bluelight a bit more obvious on PR or whats going on with finance side of things - I think that were relying on donations and money that we receive from anyone advertising with us (Extreme herbs) that why I often remind people to have a look through that site as we get some money for everyone that visists via the link.

Ill ask Ravenousblonde for some definate answers though :)
 
I wish more people would rate the reports too, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this. The only thing I could think of would be if people had to rate the report before they could comment on it, but this might dissuade people from commenting or the OP might change the report to make it better and one couldn't change their vote.
 
^Yeah I know what you mean DFWroll - when you think people will leave the "Dealer" comment or "BS Reports" etc but they dont rate them. IF everyone got into the habit of giving a report/reporter the thumbs up/down if they do/dont trust them everyone would be able to see at a glance the overall opinion of the report.

People must remember they are rating the REPORT though and not the PILL - eg a report on a Yellow Bart saying piperazine/avoid - still gets the thumbs up from me. A Yello Bart saying best roll ever/10 hour roll etc thumbs down as its wrong
 
ive posted a number of times on PR- and i cant remember if theres an option to rate the report whilst commenting. I didnt actually know about this function until recently- i believe Bearlove's recent repeated emphasis might have something to do with that ;)

I think again, that it might have something to do with where the "rating" option is currently situated on the site.. I'm not convined that alot of PR users realise that function is there, and if they do, i wonder what percentage of them think they're rating the pill.. i think i almost made the same mistake the first time...

maybe a little friendly reminder can be added to the comment field.. something like "dont forget to rate the quality of the report..." > and then give the user the option.

Ya know, that's a good idea. PR is kinda like the bastard child of BL, and I'd love to see more people know that the two are affiliated.

Since both sites are run by the same people, it would not cost to add a BL banner. However; it may cut down on our extra $ we get from the other banners. I'll run that by them and see what I can find out.

We raised all the money we needed for a years worth of hosting at the beginning of thisyear. :) Sadly, we lost our very generous benefactor in 2008, and now have to generate all the $ ourselves to keep both sites running. I am not sure if BL is accepting donations at the moment, I will have to check and get back with you since PayPal thought we were selling dr00gz and shut it down. :(
 
Thanks RavenousBlonde. I gotta say that since I joined (19th july) i've loved this site to bits- so much so that i made it to bluelighter status within ten days of joining. And not on purpose either... hahaha, is that sad?

Why dont you guys at BL hold a donation drive of your own? I know I'd certainly put some of my hard earned $$$ into site improvements and promotion!

I noticed just within my time here that there have been a SHYTELOAD of people who have registered with BL in july2009. you guys are obviously doing something right ;)

RavenousBlonde - if adding a banner does bring down the $$$ from the others, would adding a few more links to BL across the PR site help??

I've chatted to a few friends about holding a little fundraiser of our own for BL .. not sure how yet but i've sparked interest ;)

I have a mental image of me and the girls standing on the corner in the city on a saturday night, in some short shorts , shaking our tin cans for donations like e-tards, hahahaha.

I have an idea for PR. I have noticed there is more and more people that claim to enjoy piperazines, so I think there should be ratings for piperazines such as "piperazine low, piperazine medium, piperazine high",(http://www.pillreports.com/index.php?page=edit_comment&id=156050) and even a rating like "club low, club medium, and club high" for mdma pills that contain a threshold dose(5mg of meth), not for complete meth bombs, but for pills with just enough meth to make you want to dance the night away. pills like this:

this pill^^^ likely has 100mg mdma, 5mg speed which is perfect for going to dance at the club. many people like pills like these i have noticed, and if that is they high they are looking for, i don't know how they can consider it "impure". also, for people that like piperazines, a pure tfmpp/bzp pill isn't adulterated to them either. i personally hate piperazines, but obviously many people enjoy them. it's just a suggestion though. obviously someone like me will consider a pill that says PIPERAZINE high to be avoided.

^Only problem with that though is that "Piperazine" covers a range of chemicals and they are active at fairly small doses (compared to MDMA). I think its pretty hard to guess the active amount per pill and the experiences that they give can vary depending on the person (never met anyone that can sleep after them though!)

Good club pill is another iffy one as this varies from person to person - I personally like very strong clean pills (MDMA/MDA combo if possible) - if I want a speedier feeling Ill take speed (and/or acid, ket, 2cs, etc). Pills should be MD.. / MD. and people should just mix and match the "extras" depending on choice.
 
Interesting about the ratings of reports. I really didn't know what was being rated. I mean, a report could be extremely well written, yet 100% fake and get many 4 star reviews and a poorly written true report will get flamed.

How about ratings that verify the accuracy?: something like: 4 stars= "My experiences with this pill were very similar" to Zero stars= "My experiences were exactly opposite".

It would be nice to know who is doing the rating too. I think if you do a search under username all that comes up is the person that is writing the report and not the comments? There are people on here that seem more trustworthy but don't always write a report and I would like to find their comments.
 
And, it would also be nice to consolidate the reports somehow when they are obviously the same pill and press.

So many times they are given different names though which makes them hard to search out. Example: Green Jags, Green Kitties, Green Pumas
Maybe if they were tagged with all the same name? or if there would be check boxes for the report writers with common colors and stamps with an example for newbies?

Thanks for these suggestions - its great getting feedback.

The rating system isn’t perfect by a long shot but we have to make the most of what we have (until we can find a somebody to change the programming for free- [hint hint!]).

People should read the report, then if they agree with the contents give it the thumbs up. IF however they think the contents are lies/the report is fake then give it the thumbs down and leave a constructive comment. Personal experience with a pill is quite a hard one to "rate" as experiences differ from person to person depending on so many factors ie what a new user would think as a high dose pill "may" be quite weak for a regular or long time user. This is why we suggest that the OP mentions a little bit about previous use/experience.

I think the report is only part of the story – the comments are just as important in identifying and making the decision to buy/consume the pill (obviously testing your own pill is the most important thing). IF the OP says HIGH MDMA and the pill is rubbish it doesn’t take long before some of the regulars notice and leave a comment (you can also search comments by users), it only take a second to search against previous comments and you can get an idea if the person knows what they are talking about/screams pipes on every pill/or just generally talks BS.

The merging of reports is a really good idea and works really well (If you check some of the Australian threads it’s already being done). We do ask people if they don’t have a photo/test results or a long user report to simply add the experience to the previous report. The only thing with merging is its time consuming for the moderators as they have to copy all the information from one report to the other. You may have noticed that if a mod spots the name as something strange we add the other names into the report to make it easier to search for (Pink G, Guess, Pink Gucci etc). Again though regular users could leave a comment saying these pills are also known as … (use some sense/respect when leaving names though!).

If anyone sees something strange – a BS report, flaming comments, abuse, contact information, dealing etc just let one of the mods know – Send in a quick contact support message leaving the thread ID or the persons name and we will sort it out ASAP.
