Important: What should be in the Codeine FAQ?

Lefty: if you think my email address is the one on msn, its not mate.. just msn me, and i'll give you the one that works.

That email for msn is nigh 10yrs old. hasn't been active for 8 of those years.

that makes sense of the failed delivery then; i think i just tried fw'ing what i got sent and that was the email address to you. oh well.

i'll jump on msn sometime tomorrow, when i'm feeling alright after dosing. i've had a bit of a head cold along with adjusting back on tramadol/codeine after a bit of a bender. plus i don't jump on all that often anymore.

pm me your working one and i'll fwd the version with my input thus far. i'll be working on it tomorrow as well as i've only touched the surface of what could be covered.

we're going to have quite the comprehensive guide when it's all done:)

Has anyone seen any codeine-aspirin combination products? The list that Anon gave on here seems to be kinda outdated, and as far as I can tell aspirin codeine is pretty rare in Australia and seems to mostly be an Rx type thing.

I've bought it once. and wouldnt' recommened it. I went almost completely deaf for 3 days. At the time I did not know that my hearing would return. That was the worse bit.

Hearing did come back, I think without any permanent hearing loss.

^ Sounds like an aspirin overdose to me.

From what phase_dancer has sent me, codeine-aspirin combinations don't seem to be in MIMS anymore and I'm guessing aren't available in Australia. I was concerned that there might be effervescent products available, i.e. dissolve completely in water. I have heard of them in Canada and I think the US but not here, which is good because if someone tried to do a CWE on them they could run into a lot of trouble.

thats reassuring to know at least:)

i promised i'd celebrate your birthday for you and did it in fine leftwing style, brother<3 hope you and your girlfriend had a great day, buddy:)

in vietnam i got these codeine paracetamol tablets that desolved in water. im guessing the paracetamol was just dispersed in the water

Yeah they are in Australia, brand I took was aspalgin, there's also Aspiring. Think they're both 300mg aspirin, 8mg codeine. Ofcourse since I went deaf, i've never bought them again. That was 2 years ago. They were available this year, but as the packs I bought were either 96 or 100's , they might have been killed off in May.

Anyway cold water extraction doesn't work, and it sends you pretty much completely deaf. Perhaps repeated use would lead to permanent deafness. Would not recommend.

^effervescent tablets as mr b touched on in his previous post. much like berocca and such.

Like me? I'm totally effervescent! I just don't (normally) contain codeine. :p

In addition to the link referenced above http://codeine.50g.com/products/products-au.html#codeine, I found the below which may be useful although it appears to be based on information from 2006?

http://books.google.com.au/books?id=7O9kiqN2q2YC&pg=PA172&lpg=PA172&dq=solcode+codeine&source=bl&ots=Azq8V8FH6g&sig=gwjAG-f2BbdM7JQUtNVDtQ6WvG4&hl=en&ei=ykA4TOgnzYeQBZ-cjcAD&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CBgQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=solcode%20codeine&f=false

Looking forward to the FAQ, thanks for putting it together guys.

Bump in case anyone can think of anything interesting to add.

More importantly, on the topic of effervescent tablets... I was at the pharmacy today to pick up a script of some antibiotics and ventolin, as I was awaiting for my scripts to be filled I was checking out the OTC products and right there before my eyes was Panadeine that completely dissolved in water.

So just a warning to anyone who is not too picky when getting codeine-paracetamol products that these are out there and they are definitely not appropriate for a cold water extraction.

round here they have solpadeine (500mgAPAP/8mgCOD/30mgCAFFEINE) in a pack of 12 tabs with each having a total of 96mg of codeine and 360mg of caffeine.

as you can imagine, after the CWE is completed, which sucks since the solpadein tablets are hard to break down and dont dissolve very quicklyl the 96mg of codeine is not having any effects on me or anyone i know even with my eyes closed, forcing my self to dream/relax, chilling listening to music, sitting on the sofa watching downloaded tv shows/docs or whatever else setting one can feel comfortable in.

result: the amount of caffeine will completely overpower the already extremely small amount of codeine (~80mg) and render it useless. so in the end you get ~360mg of caffeine all at once

then there is another med which is never advertised, never recommended by any pharmacist or a doctor, never even mentioned to legitimate patients actually because its kept so secret due to the fact that the pharmacy companys who own us, people, have already got a drug with the same reactions only its pricier and therefore more profitable to the "world leaders" . its a "pain reliever" consisting of one, two, three or more of these chemicals . APAP 500mg/8mg cod/caffeine/ibuprofen/etc. brand. anyway, its 8/500 APAP 20 tabs and costs 2.50$.
3.80 for 96mgs and a shitload of caffeine ... yeah...
or 2.50 for 160mg of codeine. CWE'd with no APAP.

Was asked for a drivers license the other day when purchasing some codeine. They took it to the computer and made a record. They even placed a sticker on the box and placed it in a bloody basket LOL What has the world come too? Never going back there again. Its a disgrace as to how its all happening. They really should just start making pure codeine tablets that are OTC and stop this bullshit.

^ They did that to me too! The sticker full had my name and address on it as well. I am a little worried to walk into the same chain in the next few weeks incase they share the database betwen stores. Quite irritating as it is a relatively cheap pharmacy chain too.

Those effervescent tablets could be bad fucking news, I would say the risk of all tablets eventually being made effervescent is a much more real risk than an outright ban on OTC codeine products.

Potential new users must be informed these products are out there, the consequences of performing a decent extraction on them would obviously be extremely bad.

Effervescent tablets, and recording details of purchases....this could well be the beginning of the end.

I'd like to know what regular users/abusers think they'll do if all products are replaced with non CWE tablets (I can think of a few ways to prevent this so it should be a breeze for big pharma) but this is not the place.

Also, of course there are other ways to extract codeine, but I'm sorry, for reasons I've previously explained, it's not for me to lead would bees by the hand. God help us though if the level of expertise [sic] shown by some CWE hopefuls is applied to trickier extractions 8). How many threads would it take....? :!

Let's return to the discussion topic -What to include in the FAQ -until that's finished and we see what threads are needed for further discussion. How's it coming along anyway Mr Blonde?

^ It's coming along nicely, I have to admit I haven't put much work in lately as I have been very ill and just started a new job... my first shift was hell trying to take election polls over the phone whilst I've got a cough and throat infection. :\

I just want to add some basic info to it and then talk about effervescent tablets now that I have actually seen them on the shelves and then I'll send it off to you to have a look, it definitely needs some formatting though and Mr Ibis was talking about creating a chapter link system in the first post so users can skip to parts of the FAQ easily.

^Yeah once it's all done, if i can be able to edit the thread to do it... otherwise its as simple as doing a chapter listing, and putting specific titles and numbers to each section or a code eg [TREAT] and people using their browsers find function on that tag.

If you guys just copy and paste - perhaps transfer between PM and word or something, then, when you're all happy with it, PM to us mods. We can post it under forum moderator, with all contributors recognised.
