im starting a strand collection

If I started collecting strains I think I would either become too attached to it and never smoke any of them or just end up being out of pot one day and smoke through the lot

I used to have a plastic specimen container for like small rocks and geology stuff and each type would go into its own little sealed box then get labeled - i think this is the best way to do it. Also, for kief, I would put it separate as it will affect the taste quite a bit.

but this isn't a dick measuring thread - I would just advise you to keep em separated and unique. you can always combine them when you go to smoke.

I love collecting strains. I have a pretty big mason jar and I put all my weed in there. I want to start buying smaller amounts so I have more strains at a time but that can get a lot more pricey. What I usually do is buy halves, quarters, and sometimes 8ths and throw them all in the same jar. Does anyone else mix strains in the same jar? It's not hard to pick out what you want, I can identify every strain I have by looking at it through the glass.

I LOVE having a choice though, depending on what I'm feeling and what kind/time of day it is, I can usually pick the perfect strain/mix for any occasion. Right now I'm sitting on some Island sweet skunk, purple wreck, blue dream, blue ak, true blue, ed rosenthal, and GDP. I also like having a collection of stronger stuff; i've always got some hash, keif, and caviar (bud dipped in oil and keif) for "special occasions" but these special occasions usually turn out to be 80% of the time I smoke haha...it's so hard not to put some hash on top when it's sitting right there...

I also put labels (stickers) of the strain name on the mason jar...pretty soon it will be completely covered in labels, there's barely any glass showing anymore.

i always keep my weed in this one jar, so the shake at the bottom is a mix.


I know one guy whos real serious about collection weed. He has this big fold out spice rack thing that looks like a wooden breifcase when its closed and has a ton of little slots inside.

hes gotta have at least thirty strains in that thing, like maybe 2 grams of each kind all labeled in little spice jars.

I love collecting strands too!! So far I have 3 of thread, 2 of string, and 4 of yarn. What's your favorite? Can you knit? I knitted a scarf!!!!
