Im so scared

^^
thats very helpful 8)

Whats the update OP have you been able to stretch out the sub?

I think telling her to face an obvious obstacle in a lasting battle , with REALITY..Is doing her more good than telling her what lie to tell her Dr?

Sure , Its not like shes taking any suggestions as more than a grain of ...SUB! a grain of orange heaven..

Jk , now Im even more of a bully..

A month ago I needed 120 mg of hydro to just function..I took 200 mg a day or more.

today with the help of loperamide(Imodium) I have taken 20 mg so far..and 35 mg in total.

yeah, it is not perfect...but Imodium is a life saver

Then its her problem..

And in reality , I would think her REAL problem is between 10 and 2 ..

I couldnt even read a single post of hers in its entirety...
Women tend to ramble , and also ask questions they already decided the answer for..

Stop tweeking... And if youre not , spend all this time with your precious dependents that matter above all...

Are you posting via BlackBerry during Mommy-Yoga classes?

What I did recall was you saying youve been 'tapering' since January ?

Are you serious? No one else has said it , but you know you are still a junkie right? sure get offended , whatever...But you may as well start taking Little Timmy's adderalls while he is at soccer practice..

Because obvi you need some kind of fix..

Subs for months are the epitome of designer drugging - luxury ..

Be a real women and fucking kick , so you can stop this filth of denial..

And before you get all teary and abrupt - Im a girl too = ) and Cant stand whining..

I can't decide if your post is spot on or if you have absolutely no idea what it's like to struggle with an opiate addiction/or any addiction for that matter. On the one hand, you clearly picked up on her asking questions when she'd apparently already decided on an answer. I'd be curious how just being a real woman and kickin it actually works. That would mean those of us that are the opposite gender just need to be real men and kick. If that was only the case. I have to say, it's not uncommon at all for sub patients to spend a year plus tapering their dose. I wouldn't call it the epitome of designer drugging, as it only covers wds and not always cravings. If it came with a buzz I would 100% agree though. I didn't pick up on the posting from a blackberry, usually that is obvious from the text lingo and laziness to use vowels and such. I', with you on the whining, most people probaly are as well. I wouldn't say the OP was whining, incessantly worrying, yes. Hard to say if your reply is just a tough love sort of response or not. Anyhow, I'll be curious to see how the OP's appointment went today.

hey there guys.. and Questionably.. im not really going to respond to the sarcasm in your post. "Mommy Classes" thats really nice. If you were intending to give it to me straight or whatever. Just doing that would be so much better than loading it with sarcasm and being condescending. Sorry if you cant read a single one of my posts. I dont understand why? I do ramble, but im not unintelligent so you should have been able to get what I was saying. Anyhow, what you think is what you think. bottom line and not a thing I can do about it.

My appt. went well. I did not have to tell any lie or story, and he did not even notice the date. I did NOT want to go in there and lie, or tell stories. Even being an ex junkie, I dont like to lie. anyhow, I told him that tapering was STILL problem for me since i GREATLY fear relapse, and I also fear the severe sickness I have heard that comes with sub w/ds.

He left me at 4mg, so I am to taper to that, like he told me last time. I did not have a single problem when I went from 8 to 4 cuz I had to, so thats great! when he first walked in, he showed me this tiny patch in a little wrapper, like sample medicines are in (prevacid and such) it was really small and he said, "this is what its about to be" he said that due to the great increase in it being a street drug, they were pushing ahead with the patch. It apparently SO expensive (this is all what he told me) that they gave each patient, with the first patch script, a 75 dollar credit card to be used on the script. Now if they are forking that out, it must be way expensive.

I said, "well do you HAVE to go that route" and he told me, "there wont be any more pills, just these" and I asked when that starts and he said the 30th of this month. I questioned that in my head, no more pills after the 30th? But oh well. if it works, thats GREAT! no more temptation to take any more for pain, or fear, or any other reason. Just being automatically medicated.

so thats how the appt. went. I was happy that I didnt have to lie, and very interested in that patch. Im going to do some research on what he told me online. Funny how such a little strip would be so powerful. I also asked, if when it was time to kick the subs, if he prescribed Clonodine, and he said he would. I dont fear the w/ds as bad (and the fear of relapse due to not being able to stand w/ds) knowing that I wont be THAT sick. I know I have to be some sick, but that will help.

Thanks to all you guys for your HELP in this! you have all been so great to me, and very supportive. I cant say thanks enough. I was panicking, and asking way more questions than necessary, and for that, I apologize. but truly, thank you. It meant a lot to have someone helping me out, and on my side.

Let me know what you guys think, or know, about that patch? Im going to check, but I wonder if its the original manufacturer? Reickett something.. anyhow.. hope everyone had a great and safe labor day weekend!

Also, maybe Im missing something obvious, but what did you mean my real problem is between 10 and 2? if its something stupid Im missing here, sorry. But i truly did not understand what you meant by that.....

I think the comment about your problem being between ten and two was her sly way of suggesting your problems are in your head, where 10 and 2 are ment to mean your ears. She's a chode, forget about her scarstic, rage filled post. Pretty obvious she had some issues with you, maybe some envy, jealousy who F in knows or cares. Garbage in,garbage out.

I think your confusing the newly released bup pain patch for the new form of the suboxone that is coming out at the end of the month. Actually by the 29th of sept. pharmacies will begin stock what is eing called the suboxone film strip. It looks just like a lysterine beath strip. The kind that disovle pretty quickly when placed in the mouth. Your partially right, there is a $75 dollar cupon available from the makers of sub that can be used for the fist few scripts of this new form ofsub medication. I was reading today that the price is said to be the same cost as the pills. I didn't see anything that ven hinted to the idea that the pills are going to be phased out. I did see that the likelihood of them making a subutex strip looks slim to none, The main reason being that suboxone is the preffered formulation that Dr's perscribe. They failed to mention how much money they have lost since the generic subutex came out. I don't see how the pills will be phased out, when they have no control over their generic competitors. The could be something in the works with the FDA/DEA that is working on a new regulation regarding the manner in which sub is packaged, the manner in which it can be taken etc. Aside from the obvious major difference between the pill and the new strip, child proof packaging was a big part of this new formulation, in fact every strip is individually packaged in what is being touted as extremely effective child poof seal. Anyhow, not too sure if it'll prove to be all the rage like it's being promoted as. There's bound to be those who prefer the pill form.

Glad the situation went well i have to tell you while I have never tried Sub have several friends who have and they all have said that kicking it is Nothing like kicking H or kicking Methadone so I would honestly not sweat it so badly.
Also not sure what state you are in but you may want to next time you run into a cut off notice for power Since you have kids contact your local Public Utilities commission (after going to Social Services and trying for their help and any local Churches) and Tell the Commission that you can pay it on whatever date or that you need payment plans and can make the first on such and such a date and they will infact contact the company and help you.
Believe me when I was using It saved me many a day and even now when things are rough it has helped Just Google the Public Utilities commission for your state and go from there.
Just thought I would share since that is what led you to be in this situation and while many know they can go to Social Services or Churches few know that the PUC will assist

i also see a substance abuse counselor and she has heard the same thing, that after the 29th, there will be no more pills. I really dont understand how that can be, since (like Sid pointed out) they have no control over the generic. I am also curious as to how it will be any different. Wont the strips just have street value as well? they are used the sublingual route as well, arent they? I figure if they do the exact same thing, but come in a different form, then they can be sold as well, correct? I dont know.. maybe im missing something but, anything can have a dang street value. Why change it up? and make it FAR more expensive than the pills? People already struggle with the high cost of the pills. And the 2mg pills, here, are more than the 8mg ones. why is that?

I really am curious as to why they think the strip will rule out any type of sales, etc of the strip. I am, however, NOT ever selling any of my suboxone EVER again.. that was WAY to scary. strip or pill. Im not selling!

I second Immodium, you may not get high off the stuff, but it's still an opiate and it helps withdraws MUCH more than you'd expect!

thanks nik, but im cool now. it went well with my doc and I didnt even have to lie. But its good to know that people have success with immodium, cuz I may well need it at some point in the future! Esp. when he finally tapers me all the way off... i hope it helps that much then! Now, im just curious about that patch, or strip, or whatever its called.. and why they think there will be so much less street potential....

It's not the deiversion that the strip is ment to prevent. It's to make it more child proof, from what I read, the doses are going to be individually wrapped and there will be two child proof features. I'm sure combating mis use, iving and snorting, had a major impact on the decision to formulate this new strip. There's a huge fear among the makers and the sub providers that further restrictions may be put in place, and they worry that the DEA will restrict it's availability to a clinic type setting. The generics aren't going anywhere. I doubt they come out with a subutex strip seeing that the vast majority are perscribed suboxone. So I'd think the brand name subutex pill will still be made. I'd like to know how patients are supose to taper with the strips. Like can they be cut in half, thirds etc with accuracy?

what about just the suboxone pill? is it the same as the subutex pill? i was thinking the two were different. will just the suboxone pill be gone? and only a stip for it? My doc doesnt prescribe me subutex, and has never mentioned it. Just suboxone. I am hoping that the pills dont vanish, since he told me of the crazy cost of the strips, and I fear that my insurance may not cover the strip and I would have to pay out of pocket. I honestly cant afford that at all...

Yeah I just read today that the strips are going to replace the suboxone pills. Nothing was mentioned about the brand name subutex. IDK. I was told the price of the strips will be the same as the pills. I'm wondering why the maker is providing $75 coupons for patients that get perscribed the strips when the come out in a few weeks. Doesn't make sense, if they're the same price why the sudden financial break from what's already an expensive medicine.

well I want to try to get back in to see my doc before the strips replace the pills. I am nervous about how those things will work. what if they dont work well, or make you feel ill or something? again, worry wart mode, lol.. but anyhow. I am nervous about the difference in them. there has to be SOMEthing different. I just dont know if it will be a positive or a negative. Has anyone out there reading this been prescribed them yet? or is it that they wont be released at all until the 29th. I am sure curious about this whole thing. Probably has the whole Sub World in a tizzy, lol
