sweet jesus eternalx...u read my mind. are u attendint ugs3?
i spend a lot of time investigating locals/regionals/undiscovered talent.... probably more than most.EternalX said:Yeah the dnb lineup is a bit weak, so what? There is some DNB, albeit an old has-been like aphrodite. There are tons of locals on the lineup that could be the next hottest thing and are undiscovered.
Last year they had John B, has he done anything influential in the scene in the last 2 years other than his stupid myspace song? Electric Skychurch or Infected Mushroom? Just because a promotor isnt bringing the newest and freshest talent hot off the presses and making headlines to the knowledgable doesnt make it totally wack.
And yes Geek we all know you run a great dnb night bringing in some of the best talent the dnb world has to offer, you are sure to make us remember it by mentioning it somewhat often. It is something to be proud be of I agree, just dont let it get to your head more than it already has
I wish the lineup was steller and had some newer talent, but c'est la vie. I could care less who is on the lineup really as long as good times are to be had and we have fun. The Hoosier outdoor party doesnt have anyone other than locals, the party we attended saturday didnt have anyone fresh either, just some old talent thats been making their rounds for the past 10-15 years like this party.
I think a lot of people are taking notice of this and are trying to bring back the talent that was popular when the rave scene was flourishing, thinking it might jump start things again. I dont like it and dont think it will help either,
but its better than nothing I s'pose.

a.) i talk shit about bonaroo and hippies in general. i think its pretty much commonly known that most ppl tend to attend those events for the parking lot/campground experience.EternalX said:Of course I am attending already got my tickets. We come every year because its an excuse to get out and go camping and have fun. Obviously people cant do that anymore without big promotors crying about their 'money' they spend on big fresh talent dj's that dont draw the crowd they expect.
And yes I am sure there will be some drugs there, they show up at every party, even big camping ones. How about the party in Cincy that had someone drug out and sent to the hospital because of drugs? Or the countless other people there obviously fucked up? Their lack of good security at the door and inside the building wasnt noted either because it had some hot djs that are doing something in the scene.
How about other big outdoorsie events like bonnaroo, burning man, woodstock and phish? There are TONS of drugs there more readily available than cigarrettes or water at a gas station. But you dont always hear people bitching about it being a big drug fest because there is a lot of good music there, it gets overshadowed by the fact that new fresh talent gets more headlines than drugs.
Then you get an event that has some good talent, albeit a bit old and maybe not so fresh or supportive of new stuff, !!OMG!! its all about the drugs and NOTHING about the music.

xdam1enx said:thats what i though. all this bickering n arguing about headliners had me confused. when will people ever get the fuck over their egos n stop bashing partys just because the healiners they want to be their arnt. im sorry i dont go to partys n sit their n listen to every fucking 'good' dj there spin. i go to have fun with my friends and enjoy electronic music. if you go to these partys to sit their n listen to every headliner n give them all your attention. you have a sad life. these partys are all about having fun with friends and enjoying electronic music.
dont get me wrong i go to partys to listen to some of my favorite headliners. its all about the setting, friends and the vibe in the crowd that makes the whole party expierence worth going to.
