Hey my fellow bluelighters, long time no see.

I've been away awhile. 3 months in a 12 step based rehab in South Africa, followed by a month in a sober living house back in the UK. Before I say the next part, I wanna say I learnt a lot from this rehab, even if they detoxed me way too quickly when it came to benzodiazepines. Cutting me from the equivalent of 200mg+ Diazepam a day, to 60mg in a day. Then detoxing me off them completely within 20 days. This was on top of them waitiing until I got there to say they couldn't get hold of Methadone in South Africa. So I had to go into Methadone withdrawal before they could put me on Subutex. Which was on top of the Heroin and Oxycontin withdrawals that I would of had to of faced anyway. I was also coming off daily Methoxetamine, Zopiclone and Cannabis usage, So it was a rough first month there detoxing, but I learnt a lot that will stay with me always in the following 2 months.

Anyway, fast forward 2 months from me leaving rehab and I'd relapsed. So not so good. I only use Heroin, Valium and Cannabis now and again.

I've been advised Ibogaine is a good idea when rehabs fail. Although once the mindstate has been changed from it, rehab may work if tried again.

I'm having trouble finding places that will treat me and prescribe benzos whilst they do the Ibogaine treatment, especially as they needed a prescription for the benzos that I get on the street. <snip>

Also any help with Ibogaine treatment centres anywhere in the world, would also be greatly appreciated.

Nice one.

Benzo withdrawal is tough and last for a while which is part of your issues. It doesn't really set in until day 40 after your last benzo, so users are blindsided by problems that they're not expecting. I went to rehab for benzos and booze and relapsed on booze in the thick of benzo withdrawal.

If you're tapered to quickly or cut off cold turkey from benzos physical neurological damage occurs and takes time to recover from. Starting benzos back up isn't going to necessarily make you feel better, and the withdrawal from subsequent users will be worse. At some point you will have to quit the benzos, I recommend doing a taper now and then go to treatment.

Sorry, I'm not located in the U.K. so I can't answer the rest of your questions. I will say that some of it violates our BLUA as you can't request assistance in getting a prescription. Sourcing is not allowed whether it be from the doctor or the street. I am also going to move this thread to Sober Living as you may get more responses there. I wish you the best!

You should handle the benzo problem before you even think about Ibogaine. I don't have any experience with it personally but I would tread lightly. Having a grand mal seizure in some south American rehab sounds like a bad day at the office to me. I would stay in in the UK and utilize local options for maintenance and ongoing treatment.

Ibogaine may be fatal if taken during benzodiazapine withdrawal.

Please be safe. Do not use iboga or ibogaine without either first detoxing from the gabaergic drugs or continue to take them while you also try iboga. Really though you won't get as much out of iboga and it will be more dangerous if you are still taking gabaergic drugs and have not sufficiently detoxed (and healed from the detox) before you flood.

I actually mentioned I would be continuing to take the benzos whilst doing the Ibogaine treatment. I wouldn't attempt it during benzo withdrawal. Also the treatment place is in Canada, done with medical assistance on call 24/7, not done by a shaman in a jungle lol. My questions I suppose are, does anyone have any experience with Ibogaine? And does anyone know decent places for benzo detox?
