I am doing research on a screenplay, I was hoping I could get a bit of help on a few questions I had about drugs. I am not a drug user and never have been but do know of them and know people who have taken them, just to clarify I was brought up in a very rough area but stayed like a good girl. However, been good and not doing drugs you can only know so much. I was hoping to get an opinion from an insiders prospective.

Question 1. If you were to cut cocaine how exactly do you do it?

Question 2. How do "legal highs" fair out to "illegal highs",for example is the legal substatute for E, any better than E?

Question 3. If you have been arrested because of drugs, how do the police deal with you?

Question 4. Are you not concerned that you are supporting criminal organisations?

Question 5. What is taking Cocaine like?

Question 6. Have you ever sold drugs?

if you're writing a screenplay about drugs and you know nothing about drugs maybe you shouldn't be writing a screenplay about drugs. If you are seeking lots of information about drugs http://www.erowid.org is a very helpful and informative site.

I've never done Cocaine and I certainly have never cut cocaine with anything(hopefully I never will). Also, Cocaine isn't a psychedelic drug so this isn't necessarily the best place for this set of questions.

I usually cut my Cocaine with other drugs, like PCP and Ketamine. Those stupid drug addicts can hardly tell the difference!

Wow... Real supportive IamMe90.

I have to agree with the first reply if you don't much about drugs, setting out to write a screenplay about it is going to be interesting and probably quite difficult.
It's one of those things you can't really understand properly until you actually do them.

That being said Cocaine is cut with all sorts of shit, basically it can be cut with anything that looks like cocaine, but again erowid is your best bit for any good info on drugs.

Legal highs are often, if not always, in my experienced far more dangerous and destructive than good quality MDMA (or E as you call it) just had a big whack on New Years and honestly cannot believe it's illegal.
If you take care of yourself when you do it and use responsibly it's got to be one of the safest and most rewarding drugs out there.

Have never been arrested for drugs and never taken Cocaine as I'm not a big stimulant fan, although I've heard it's fucking awesome ;)

You'll be hard pressed to get anyone on here admitting yes to Question 6, as that's not exactly a smart thing to admit on a public forum that the popo apparently frequent.

And yes, I am very VERY concerned about supporting criminal organisations because that is what makes the drug trade dangerous.
Imagine if paracetamol were illegal. Well you'd have to be worried about what it was cut with every time you had a headache, and the danger of decided to experiment with said drug is automatically doubled or tripled.
So in other words, I wish the Government would just fucking legalise this stuff already, so we could approach it in a sane, thoughtful and safe way, instead of letting dodgy dealers go ahead and make disgusting profits, for endangering peoples lives and contributing to the already over-exaggerated public perception and horrendous state of the underground drug market.

The last thing I'll say is you should probably be more specific about where your screenplay is going to be set demographically, judging by the heavy cocaine presence I'd say US or Mexico or something right?
Well yeah you need to be more specific if you want helpful research for your screenplay.

By the way, ignore the rude comments, I don't know why they bothered to comment in the first place if they had nothing intelligent or helpful to add.
I'm also a screenwriter, well I'm studying it.

Best of luck with the writing.
Adios.

Strange questions for this particular subforum.

1. Cutting cocaine is probably just like cutting any other powdery substance-- you make sure your cut is relatively unnoticeable and very homogenous throughout. Use your imagination with salt, sugar, and some kind of mixing device.

2. Legal highs in the recent years have been absolutely dangerous compared to the illegal ones. See naphyrone (sold as a party stimulant like E, but turned out to be about 50X too potent and very very bad side effects of the heart-attack nature). Also no "smoking blend" in the world could ever smell as good as the True Green Herb.

3. My friend got busted for weed in his car a while ago (in a state that has legal medical usage). The cop confiscated his 0.3g of weed and didn't write a citation. He's still waiting for official paperwork to let him know if he's even going to be fined.

4. This subforum in particular gets much of its drugs from legitimate Chinese or European laboratories that probably do not deal in the illegal weapons trade. you might want to ask the opiate addicts about where their percocets come from.

5. how should I know? I'd assume it's something like what other movies have shown it to be-- increased confidence, sociability, etc, with the nagging feeling that it's all going to disappear soon enough. Actually did I just describe Diet Coca Cola?

6. Never.

1. Cocaine is sketchy and not something I've ever been involved with. Lol, the pure drug is not something i would do at all personally, but the cutting is just gross. People use all kinds of random white powder cutting agents from what I understand, from vitamin pills, to cleaning agents...bleh

2.legal high usually refers to all those new Gen designer smoke blends and otc psychoactives from what I've heard. I don't fuck with any of those at all either...however, there are many many legal plants which are greatly mind-altering and have proven themselves to me to be comparably if not more helpful in my development than the illegal counterparts.

3. I've never been arrested

4. Criminal organization pushed drugs are generally the hard ones. The only plants I partake of are grown by loving friends or are imoorted from indigenous communitys. So I only support a couple of good people in those respects, I don't buy bulk mexican-import weed, I don't do any hard drugs and the only psychedelucs I do I am aware of their source and they are not 'criminal organizations' as you say. Karma-harmonious psychonauticism :-)

5.lol, you really wanna learn about cocaine...8(
I only tried a small small amount on one occasion back in my youth. Boring I thought, I felt lighter, and kind of comfortable talking or something, mundane in comparison to the complexity and intillectual depth of the psychedelic exp which I was already versed in at the time. I chose to abstain from all toxic or 'intoxicating' substances soon-thereafter and never looked back. Just herb, coffee and the occasional trip now. No alcohol, pills, ecstasy, or white-powder bullshit for me :-)

6. I have not. Honestly though that's a sketchy and suspicion arousing question, what insight would you knowing whether or not this board's members have personally sold drugs give you for a play or whatever?? I can understand an Interest in the culture or specifics of drug sales for informational purposes, but c'mon, this question s just sketchy all-around.

1. I've never cut coke, so I couldn't specifically answer from experience. From what I understand, these days most coke is cut with levamisole... nasty stuff.

2. All 'illegal' drugs were once completely legal. I'm assuming that you are asking about current 'legal' drugs.. well it depends on the drug. Some are awesome & some suck.

3. Never been arrested for drugs, so I can't answer. I was arrested for burglary as a juvenile, and the cops treated me like shit. I'd assume a drug bust would be similar.

4. I don't care for the idea of supporting 'criminal organizations', but our government has made that the only option. On the other hand, based on their actions, governments can be viewed as criminal organizations (murder (war & assassinations), corruption, theft (eminent domain) etc.) and yet we support them with our tax dollars.

5. It's a stimulant. I haven't done much coke, but it gives you energy and a feeling of confidence. Personally, I mainly stick to weed with the occasional trip.

6. I sold drugs back in the day, but haven't done so for quite a long time. Did it mainly to get mine on the cheap. Small time dealing just isn't worth the risk.

These are some really basic questions. You can check out the Drug FAQs here for more specific information on various substances.

1. never have, dont plan to. something intranasally harmless like flour or vitamin c ?

2. marketing terms, that dont correlate with effects

3. havent !

4. things aren't as simple as that, as termino gave an example of above. i'm not sure you'll understand it.... there are many big businesses in the world exploiting children, labour standards, others' resources etc etc and doing so legally. there are bad people in the drug world, yes, but there's many good people and just plain regular kinds, too

5. haven't done it, but i imagine a cheap sense of euphoria coupled with false sense of importance, wears off quickly

6. no !

Question 3. If you have been arrested because of drugs, how do the police deal with you?

Question 4. Are you not concerned that you are supporting criminal organisations?

Question 5. What is taking Cocaine like?

Question 6. Have you ever sold drugs?

1. I've never used cocaine so I don't know a whole ton about how people adulterate it. Cutting drugs only makes them more dangerous, so I would never cut anything. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop some people.

2. All drugs were once legal. But as for the ones that are currently legal, some are amazing and others suck. Some goes for illegal drugs. The legality of a drug has little correlation with it's recreational value or safety. The benefit of legal drugs is that they tend to be much more pure so you know what you are getting. Except for bathsalts. Whoever thought it was a good idea to sell random unlabeled stimulants cut to various degrees in gas stations was an idiot. But buying legal stuff online, providing that you do your homework, is much safer than buying "MDMA" which is often cut or just something else completely. It's like how alcohol is safer when legally bought in stores than when it is when bought as moonshine.

3. Yes, and it sucks. They have no idea what they are doing. They thought I was making meth and treated me accordingly. I've never made, seen, or used meth in my life. The DEA is like having amish people investigate cyberterrorism. They just aren't that good at it. It doesn't stop them fucking up your life in the meantime though. The term "incompetent thugs" best describes the DEA.

4. I mostly use legal drugs now so I'm not supporting criminal organizations with those. For marijuana, the better stuff is usually grown locally, so that takes a lot of the bad criminal aspect out of it. But the only reason any drug user supports criminal organizations is because the government gives us no choice. We'd rather have it taxed and regulated like alcohol. During the prohibition of alcohol, plenty of good people drank and supported criminal organizations because the government allowed no alternative. The current prohibition of drugs is no different.

5. Don't know from personal experience, but I've done things that are similar. But here is the best analogy I've heard: Cocaine is kind of like casual sex. It's fun, you get a big rush of dopamine, it lasts about a half hour, it ends up being kind of expensive in the long run, and it can be dangerous if you don't take the right precautions.

6. No. But I know good people who have. Most drug dealers are not the kind you see on TV. Most are normal people that are trying to make a little extra money. I've never had a drug dealer push anything on me. They are just part of the economics of supply and demand. As long as people want drugs, someone will be there to sell them. I'd say that used car salesmen are much more slimy on average.

All I can say is that I have sold ecstasy and acid. I like to cut my ecstasy with either heroin, crack, or rat poison. I usually cut my acid with strychnine or chlorine. I will admit that once, I had to cut my product with ricin toxin because it was the only powder I had at my house at the time.

Dude, come on. Like, we know you're being sarcastic, but the OP may not.

I really don't care whether or not you are actually writing a "screenplay" or not, you might just be phrasing the question that way as a way to protect yourself, which is understandable, especially for someone unfamiliar with drugs and drug laws, or perhaps you may be worried about someone seeing your post (parents, room-mate, whatever). So, I will just answer your questions at face-value.

Question 1. If you were to cut cocaine how exactly do you do it?
I am not quite sure what you mean - do you mean "cutting up", as in making lines for snorting, or do you mean "cutting" as in mixing it with another substance to make it go further? If it's the latter, do you mean what substance would someone "cut" it with or what the process of "cutting" cocaine looks like?

Question 2. How do "legal highs" fair out to "illegal highs",for example is the legal substatute for E, any better than E?
That totally depends on the drug, the person and their opinion. There is no yes or no answer about it. I'm not sure what this "legal substitute for E is and what exactly you would compare it to. Even if I was, that would only be my personal opinion and anyone else might have a different opinion. Obviously some people prefer certain illegal drugs to drugs that are legally available, otherwise there wouldn't be an illegal market for drugs.

Question 3. If you have been arrested because of drugs, how do the police deal with you?
That totally depends on what country (or even what state) you live in, the specific drug, the quantity of the drug, what you were planning on doing with it, your age, your record, the circumstances surrounding the arrest, the particular police officers involved, the drug's legal status, and so on and so on. You would have to be a lot more specific in order for me to even tell you what is most likely to happen if a person was arrested for possession or trafficking of a particular drug, in a particular place, under particular circumstances.

Question 4. Are you not concerned that you are supporting criminal organisations?
I'm assuming you mean is someone who buys illegal drugs not concerned about this? And what exactly do you mean by "criminal organizations"? And why would you assume that "supporting" anyone or any group who commit a crime is inherently "wrong" or something a drug user would necessarily be "concerned" about? Again, it really depends the person involved, the specific drug, who they are buying the drug from, what the person's personal beliefs and morals are, etc, etc. Also, (especially depending on where you live), it is not always that someone selling a drug is connected with some kind of "criminal organization", or that even when they are that "criminal organization" is doing anything other than selling that drug. This is an extremely complex and personal question and we could have an entire thread about just this one question and people's thoughts about it.

Question 5. What is taking Cocaine like?
Do you mean what it feels like after you take it? It's hard to describe, just like what sex feels like is hard to describe to a virgin, and it totally varies from person to person. We can explain the average physical effects, but even these vary depending on the individual person, the quantity of the drug, the "route of administration" (how you take a drug: is it snorted, eaten, smoked, injected), and the purity. I'm sure you could easily do a search on the effects of cocaine. But to quickly sum it up, the common effects of cocaine while "high" often include: a feeling of pleasure, happiness or "euphoria", a brief ringing in the ears, an increased heart-rate and metabolism, feeling warm and energetic, and a varying level of paranoia. It's extremely difficult to explain what the "high" or euphoric/pleasurable effects feel like.

Question 6. Have you ever sold drugs?
Probably not something anyone wants to admit to on the internet. Why do you ask? Do you want to know what it's like, or what the risks are, or what the average drug dealer is like, or what??

Question 1. If you were to cut cocaine how exactly do you do it?
I just would not: always get a pure product!!!!! Pure products give the real effect.
Question 2. How do "legal highs" fair out to "illegal highs",for example is the legal substatute for E, any better than E?
Legal and illegal highs are a terrible name. Some legal highs are even worse than the illegal, some aren't. Just look up the pharmacology.
Question 3. If you have been arrested because of drugs, how do the police deal with you?
I haven't been arrested
Question 4. Are you not concerned that you are supporting criminal organisations?
No, what a weird question dude... I don't feel like I'm doing bad things.
Question 5. What is taking Cocaine like?
Like everyone in the world says: you're the man, you're awesome.
Question 6. Have you ever sold drugs?
No

Question 1. If you were to cut cocaine how exactly do you do it?

You don't, cutting drugs is a pretty crappy thing to do.

Question 2. How do "legal highs" fair out to "illegal highs",for example is the legal substatute for E, any better than E?

I wouldn't say better, just different. That's what makes them interesting though. Really doesn't matter if they are illegal or legal in my opinion.

Question 3. If you have been arrested because of drugs, how do the police deal with you?

Put you in jail.....

Question 4. Are you not concerned that you are supporting criminal organizations?

Nope, most the people who sell or make psychedelics wouldn't hurt a fly. The only thing that makes them criminals is the fact that the government encroached on their personal rights. As far as other drugs go yes.

Question 5. What is taking Cocaine like?

Euphoric for 20min and than wanting more. Pretty boring really.

Question 6. Have you ever sold drugs?

No....Stop being such a fucking cop.

i've been 'caught' by the cops twice.
the first time they had came to my friends house, but they had the wrong address. I was off my tits and staring at a tab of acid in a plastic bag. It didnt occour to me to hide it.
I think the fact that i was so blase about it meant he didnt even notice me.
The second time some friends and i were smoking weed in a car.
They just told us they were going to drive round the block and we'd better be gone by the time they got back. I'm luck the cops round here can see the difference between 'nice' harmless people and stupid gangster wanna-bes.

but TBH - if you write about drugs and you have no experience what you produce is going to be lame. Most drug users will be able to tell you have no experience. Write about what you know.

And yeah, coke is crap really. Good for a game of poker but really not worth the cash. More-ish, even if you're not a fan you're left wanting another line untill you wake up the next day.

You're obvoiusly curious on some level. I'd suggest doing some mushrooms with a friend you can trust. All man made powders and pills suck in comparison. Read some terrance Mckenna and gain something positive from it, or just dont bother.
This come to you from an old man who learnt the hard way.

In all respects, there has been films made about Ghostbusters and Teenaged Mutan Ninja Turtles so unless screenwriters are dropping serouse amounts of acid, I think I can. But thank you for giving me the time to answer my questions and will probably not try mushrooms. I am dying to try LSD one of these days but not anytime soon.

Solds-
It is very different..the idea that someone has written screen plays about such creative, imaginary things as "Ghostbusters" or "TMNT" without any direct experience of either and the movie still turned out well (because these were fictious stories) and the idea that someone with absolutely NO experience in something that is NON-FICTION would produce an awesome screenplay. It can be very hard...however I don't know what type of screenplay you are writing, action, drama, comedy, etc... But any artsy film dealing with drug use will be lacking without your personal experience.
