I hate suboxone

It's very hard to use H or any other pu mu agonist opiate and take suboxone at the same time. Suboxone is a partial agonist, which means that it binds to the opiate receptor in the brain but only exerts a partial effect (think of it as opening a door halfway) but binds very tightly to the receptor, making it difficult for other opiates to bind to the receptor, including H.

Suboxone has a much longer half-life than H, oxy, morphine, etc. Therefore, if you shoot H while suboxone is still active (~36 hs) you won't feel any effect. More imporantly, if you take suboxone while H is still active,, you will go into a precipitated withdrawal because suboxone will kick H off the receptor and reverse its effects.

Like you, I tried to use suboxone during the week when I had to hold my shit together for work, etc. and would try to use H, morphine, etc. at other times. Didn't work. Either I felt nothing or ended up very sick. Very, very sick.

Have you ever tried Methadone man?

It's great at high doses for Opiate withdrawal. It's a FULL OPIATE AGONIST so it gets you a nice buzz(I dont know about every body but iam on benzo's too) people telll me they get buzzed.

It feels like you've actually taken a painkiller (Well bcause Methadone is also a painkiller) you feel warm, your pupils constrict into SMALL LITTLE pins, you can actually get the nods and fall asleep AT THE DROP OF A FUCKING HAT if your on Methadone maintenance at a high dose.

^ Have you ever read any of his previous posts? I highly doubt it.

A weird thing happened, I scored a bunch of suboxone off the street and tried to quit, but never could and never made it more than 2 days.

Then I decided to do it the real way and go to a clinic and do it under doctors supervision, and for some reason it completely changed the way I was using suboxone and the way it affected me, and was able to stay clean.

I know what you mean. If you are copping them off the street, thats not really taking initiative or being seirous about. Its kind of a half assed attempt to quit, beacuse you know its easier to just go get dope instead.

When you go to the doctor, you are actually making a serious effort, and when you do that, its much easier to stick with it. You know what I mean?

man, sub is bad. i only use it because its less trouble then poppy seed tea, and better quality then a lot of dope around here.

heh. sad but truuuuuuuuuuueee

Offcourse your not going to like suboxone if your trying to get high, that's not what this drug is for man..thats like me saying i hate dex because it doesnt also solve my allergy problems

lol.....

although it does provide "energy" and a weird type of a "buzz", it certainly doesn't get me high, so I do find humor in this comment....

Bupe is awesome for me but as you probably know different meds effect everyone differently :)

Here's some reading for ya that I found helpful.
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?t=282026&highlight=subutex+users+read

I started on 12mg and I'm on 4mg now. It's been a wonder drug for me. I haven't used opiates in the entire time I've been on it luckily. I notice increased depression/anxiety on 4mg+ but since I've been under that all those effects have disappeared.

Thank god for subutex :) (its pretty much the same as oxone)

Edit: OK, I read some other posts of yours and sounds like you still wanna nod out on the weekends. If you just wanna get your tolerance down to start using again do a quick taper on the bupe and stay clean for a month or two. Chances are you'll be right back where you began but I'm sure you have some idea of that.

Suboxone and Subutex are aimed commercially (and due to its high cost) at white pharmaceutical Opioid addicts. From stories on the internet and forums like this one, it sounds like Oxy/Hydrocodone addicts benefit greater from Buprenorphine for maintainence than Heroin addicts. Heroin addicts (including myself when Rx'd Suboxone) only used them when dope was unavailable, money was unavailable, or I felt like staying clean for awhile. Methadone on the other hand has saved my life.

To the comment that you don't get high on Methadone in MMT; some people do, some people don't. If I take my dose on an empty stomach I certainly get the same warm euphoria you get from any Opioid for a brief period after it kicks in. Been in MMT for 2 years, from a 8-12 bag/day H habit.
Everyones body is different, and people digest and feel Opioids differently. Hell theres a lot of people who don't find any Opioid pleasent at all.

EDIT: Also, and this is pretty well known, tapering down your dose with Buprenorphine is extremely easy compared to all other Opioids. Everyone I've talked to or read about who mentioned the subject of tapering always remarked how painless it was. Then when you try to stop the WD's hit you hard. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who can walk away from Suboxone with minimal discomfort. The medical community at large is to blame for the stereotype that Bupe is a miracle drug, has no/mild WD's, etc.
