Sure it keeps me from shitting my guts out, vomiting and shaking uncontrollably when I hit the wd's (gram and a half minimum daily tar habit). I dunno guys, how do people stay clean on this shit? I've tried it in many different doses and for some reason 4mg's feels the same as 16mgs to me. I'm still left with this alienation, like I'm carrying a lot of anxiety, and I'm depressed as fuck to boot. I still feel cold all the time, and it's impossible to smile at anything, even on a gorgeous (and rare ) sunny northwest morning. I have zero drive, and I find it almost impossible to sleep on these things as well. People used to tell me what a miracle drug this shit is, but honestly, in my opinion, it's very far from a miracle. It's just so fucking frustrating, because feeling normal is being high, and I did all this shit to myself. I guess I posted this to see if others have had much luck on sub... because I honestly doubt it's going to keep me clean.

Thats not the suboxones fault. Those are issues that need to be worked out in time. Suboxone isnt a cure for anything, nor is it a miracle drug. People who told you that left you with too high of expectations. It just helps you do what you have to do to get better. Its meant to be used as a tool for something that you wouldnt be able to do as easily without. If you use it right, it works great.

What you have to do is work out these issues on your own, using patience, time, and most likely a little counseling. It doesnt all just go away once you start taking suboxone. Its not like that at all.

Suboxone has been nothing but awesome for me. I came off a 1 - 2 (at least 1 though) gram of east coast powder a day habit, and i havent had any problems. I had the same ones you mention when I started (june 07) and it took a couple months to work through them, but ever since I did that, its been smooth sailing.

Give it time. Its a great drug, and if you use it right, you will really appreciate what it can do.

You'll get used to it in time. Although about 2.5 months after I started taking it I began to feel shitty and lethargic. I tapered off over 2-3 weeks down to around .2mg and the withdrawal from that was a cakewalk. Everyone's brain is different though so maybe suboxone just doesn't work well for you?

GET ON METHADONE

It's like heaven compared to SUBOXONE and it does the same shit, but it helps anxiety and makes you feel like u just did enough herion to not be sick, but u still feel kind of high, its alot better than SUBOXONE...

I believe you're correct. A lot of this shit is in my head, I'm quite aware of that. It's just weird being high for so many years, and getting used to the person I am while high, versus the person I am, when I'm not high. I'm foreign unto myself, and it's sketchy and bewildering trying to get to know this person. I just wish I could naturally strip away my ego like a good dose of mescaline does, so I can get to the route of my problems and deal without being such a nancy about it all.

I would do this in a heartbeat if I hadden't previously (about two years ago) kicked a 120mg a day habit to it. Those were by far, the most excruciating 3 weeks of my life. I'm absolutely terrified of getting back into methadone, because honestly... I'm not sure I could take kicking it again should I end up having to. The first time I kicked it, I went in fearful from what I'd read about methadone withdrawals on this site, and my fear was increased tenfold when I realized what I had actually gotten myself into (about 5 days into it). If it wasn't for my parents, letting me crash in my old room, bringing me food (even though I barely nibbled at it) and changing the bag in the bin I was consistently throwing up into... I believe I could very well Have blown my brains out. I could hardly crawl from my bed to the toilet. I've kicked a lot of opiates, and while some in my opinion are more intense, they are more intense for a MUCH MUCH shorter duration!

Yeah, its real tough. It definitely takes some getting used to. When I first got on suboxone, I had no idea what to do with myself. I just let myself get absorbed into my job and everything else that has to do with a normal life. Eventually youll get used to it. Trust me.

Good luck.

Dude, if you just wien off of methadone, you do not withdrawel, why the hell did you go cold turkey?

This is weird, because I feel just like you are describing but only I am on METHADONE. I don't know what the hell people are talking about when they say you get high on methadone and shit, and that methadone is euphoric. I've never even IV'd anything before, all my opioid use in the past was mainly just Oxycodone, and chewing oxycontins, and popping shitloads of OXY IR's. My dose of methadone is at 130mgs/day right now, and I don't think its so shit hot.

At least you guys in the USA have a choice. In Canada here, Buprenorphine is STILL not available. It was supposed to be out here like 2 years ago, and each year they state a certain month of when it is officially going to be released and then it isn't released, and then Health Canada delays it more and more. I can't wait until it is released here, because I am going to switch and get off Methadone and switch to Suboxone, since I have heard that Sub has some antidepressant properties to it, unlike Methadone. I also hear that Suboxone is more stimulating as well (similar to Oxycodone in a way, because Oxy was the most stimulating opioid for me).

Anyways.. thats just my opinion.

I was able to get down to 40mgs a day after tapering for a month, and it was really hard man. It's like, I'm spending money to be on drugs (even though it was a lot less) and the tapering (I believe I did it waaay too quick, but the circumstances called for it) thing just felt like I was dragging the withdrawals out even longer. It was involuntary because my hook got popped and I had a little less than a months supply at hand. I felt like shit during that whole month when I got down to 40mgs, but it was nothing in retrospect when I tried to drop anything below 40. Three days before I quit I was taking 30, then 20mgs. At that point I was under the impression that it was useless to go below 20, because those three days of 20&30 felt like full on withdrawal to me. The most fucked up thing in my opinion, was how extremely bad I felt the first three days not taking any opiods, and then the 4th or 5th day it hit me like a freight train. It kind of puts things in perspective, because you think you have it bad then, but the real challenge isn't even in those first 4 or 5 days, it's the week or so after that (whereas with H by the 4th or 5th day you're seeing noticeable changes for the good). I assure you if I had more methadone I would have tapered over the course of a couple months or so, but the situation was one where not only did I not want to stop, but I had no choice in the matter.

The problem with me is that I get extreme euphoria from a decent dose of methadone (I have no idea why, but methadone ranks in my top 3 favorite opiates next to H and fentany because of the euphoria it gives me, and how long it lasts... it's almost a blessing (in a kind of sick way) to not have to stick yourself with a needle multiple times a day to stay well. In all reality I'm essentially swaping one drug for another. When I get serious about kicking or taking a hiatus from H, methadone just doesn't cut it... because it's damn near impossible for me to get off of it because I enjoy it too damn much.

Suggesting someone to methadone just because YOU like it isn't very good advice, theres tons of pro's and cons to both. what you wrote about methadone there could be said identically about suboxone.

Thanks for the optimism, it's greatly appreciated. It's always good to hear it's working for others, even if it does take a couple months to get in gear.

People that say they are getting high on methadone are not opioid tolerant. The first opie I did was methadone, and I got euphoric as a motherfucker, and for the first few weeks I flashed and vomited, too. After you have taken the stuff for awhile and are tolerant, you will never feel methadone again, period. I have taken quadruple my dose in a vain attempt to feel something, but it is just not ahppening. For those that say they have been on methadone for a least 6 months to a year and "feel it" are probably doing benzos with it, IMO.

If you want to switch to Sub, just know that they want you on 17 mgs. or less of 'done to switch over. Sucks, huh? I would like to switch, but 17 mgs.? I dunno. I have to work for a living, and being in w/d and trying to work is excruciating.

In closing, methadone is not a good drug if you are lookin' to get high UNLESS YOU ARE AN OPIOID VIRGIN, or darn near it. Then it is awesome, I am sorry to report. People that say that people on methadone walk around wasted all day need to shut the fuck up. We don't feel a thing.

i just want to throw in my input and support that I LOVE SUBOXONE i believe its the best medicine we ever discovered. it is AMAZING.

Man, I'm not saying what you're saying isn't valid... but I did methadone after h for quite awhile and always got high by just increasing my daily (stay well) dosage by 40 extra mg's. Not only that, and I know this is a harm reduction site (but when I mixed the methadone with benzos or alcohol, that combination is something in the euphoria department that just clicks with my chemistry, so much so that methadone ranks very highly on my list of favorite opiods). I have nothing to gain by making false claims about this, I don't see my opiate habit as glamorous at all, but I can say I was definitely high by just kicking it up an extra wafer.

To the guy above a few posts .... I'm sure you had bad feelings when trying to wein YOURSELF down with no MD support, when I will be wiening down, I will be doing so under a doctors care, and they will not want me to feel any bad symptoms, at least this is what they told me when I got onto methadone, I hope your wrong and their right!

hahhaa

I was simply amazed when my friend insuffulated (sp?) 8 mg's and got pinpoint pupils and went to the land of nod for a couple hours. The jealousy was strong within me!!! Not really, but I just couldn't believe that I, at one point in life, could get high off of 10 mgs oxycodone/hydrocodone and 30mgs codiene, hahahaha. It's such a bitch to see people ope'd out at a party from taking a few vicodin or percocet. I actually had 5 people pleading with me not to snort an OC 80 at a party because they were sure I was going to OD. I even had someone come up and try to tell me, 80 mgs oc is way more powerful then any vicodin or percocet I'd taken, and that I was probably confusing the APAP with how many milligrams of oxy I was used to taking. I have to give him props for the good advice, but that was something I had known 6 years prior. I still hear people saying they are on "1200 mgs of oxy" when they read the acetamenophin part of the number instead of the narcotic number of mg's before it. I never hesitate to explain it to them regardless if I steal their thunder, because it's sad that kids shovel shit down their throats without researching it, and end up thinking an 80 mg oxy won't do shit to them when they have taken up to 1500 mg's (5-15 mgs actual opiate) before, and end up dead as a doorknob, or getting their stomachs pumped.
