Hey!!!!!! I know everybody starts at different times. I'm just curious how people feel on their first day! Was it scary? Was it fun? Did you oversleep? Tell us how it went!!!
If your class hasn't started yet tell me what positive things do you see in this semester. Are you thinking optimistic? Are you nervous! ;)

So today was my first day, and I over slept! :O! So I stayed up drinking last night with the other people in my dorm, and on my floor. Yeah so I got to sleep around 3:00AM and had class at 9:25! It was a "Reading skills" class(I'm taking it because well, I'm your typical high school drop out.. :)) I stay at a dorm:

The North Commons, here at my school! So later in the day I had English, it was cool! My teacher doesn't seem like she's old, maybe 26. We didn't do much, I wrote an essay on a ''thing''. So I wrote about playing the guitar, and video games....5 paragraphs later lol :D.
That was my last class, for the rest of the day I spent my time meeting people. I met a pretty cool girl, we are both all into Anime, and Halo :).

So tell me how your first day was!! Awwww my blulighters are growing up so fast!!!! :(
:)

I just had orientation today for a new program I'm in and it was pretty boring.

pretty solid. i'm a post-grad taking some classes (linear algebra and graduate level probability) part time before grad school, and i'm REALLY glad to be back learning.

30 min commute + finding parking is kinda lame though.

Good and bad. I liked my course and my professor (she's my advisor), but the other students in the class have not taken the pre-requisites, so the other student who have and i were asked to help out. Had a few students refuse to learn how to do some of the material, which was frustrating. Then found out my research proposal is due 2 months earlier than we expected. :|

Eh, ok. I had Psychology, which I'm good at....

On the other hand, my teacher's a retired narc from Jersey who preaches about how drugs fuck up your brain. -_-

I'll get back to you on monday. 8:55am. Shouldn't be too bad. My 1st semester schedule isn't too bad.

Sat in on the incorrect geology class this morning along with a few other girls... we found the correct room about an hour later (the class we sat in on meets for 1 hour three times a week while the other meets for 3 hours once a week.) That's what two hours of sleep will do I guess.

Next class won't be for another hour so I suppose I have that long to eat and figure out what 4th (and possibly 5th) course I should register for.

CC is a lot different than the small campus college I previously attended.. honestly I can't stand the staggering amount of people and the fact that I commute but this is only temporary.

The whole morning I've been nervous as hell since this is my first time entering a campus as a freshman since an unfortunate academic suspension a couple of years back. It's odd that my classmates are mostly 18 and I'm 20.. luckily I don't look my age (everyone seems to think I look 18 or something rofl)

My first class was today. It was alright, I suppose. I completely freaked out before hand and almost had a panic attack, but luckily I had some Ativan and temazepam on hand. Also, the professor changed the course description and curriculum at the last minute, which frustrates me. She is an old lady, and I have difficulty following her trains of thought.

Oh well. I'm pumped for school in general :)

Wow I just wrote a research paper on "Procrastination". If it wasn't for the uncontrollably desire to refresh the page every 5 seconds I'd have this paper done in the first week of class instead of the day before its due. :)

Things are looking great! I'm required to take a science course for two symesters (ugh) and picked Bio simply because it was the only science course I completed in high school. I was worried that it'd be really hard - science has always been my worst subject - but it turns out that our class is easy as hell. The teacher is a very friendly guy but honestly a pretty bad teacher, so I've basically had to teach myself everything from the textbook, but whatever. Also it sucks having to take three hours of lab on top of the lecture itself, especially since we don't learn anything new in lab (it really just feels like busy-work), but it's not so bad.

English class is great. It's American Lit. A lot of reading and a moderate amount of writing - just the way I likes it :) The prof's young and enthusiastic, though his political views are pretty much the polar opposite of my own (something I've gotten very used to), he's still a nice guy and doesn't seem like the type to give me a bad grade because, for example, I believe that Christianity is the true religion and the conversion of the native peoples to Christianity was a very good thing - though of course there was a lot of evil things the Europeans did as well.

Philosophy is okay. The teacher's nice but she's one of those agnostic types who believes that "the search for knowledge is more important than getting answers", that "there are no right answers", all that postmodern stuff, but she's nice too and the class looks like it'll be very easy.

I was worried that I'd hate Sociology but the teacher, while a Marxist, is a really nice southern guy and the whole class seems to consist of watching movies and having discussions. All our tests are take-home. Yeah, kind of ridiculous, but you won't see me complaining ;)

Latin is . . . well, Latin. There are only 6 people in my class and there are only 2 in the class (including myself) who really want to learn the language - the rest are just fulfilling their language req. (not that there's anything wrong with that, but I do wish there were more serious students in it). It moves painfully slowly and I think the teacher doesn't like me because he thinks I think I'm smarter than him (which I most definitely do not).

First day of class today.

Only have French on Thursdays. Small class and attendance and participation count.

On the bright side though, it seems like a fairly easy credit and the teacher is so freaking hot.

OP is still making me laugh. :D

I think it's mostly because of how it reads in my head. That and the fact D's is the author. It all comes together quite nicely.
