Sorry to highjack the thread.. allow me to conclude.
My personal perspective towards reintroducing meat into a vegetarian diet is that I believe it is totally unnecessary. All of the vitamins and nutrients found in animal products are found in generous amounts among the vegan palate. Certain plants contain far more of vitamin X than any animal product, so if you're taking the time to choose an animal product, why not take the time to choose the the best option?
All of the common concerns regarding the vegetarian diet being adequately healthy are easily answered if you look hard enough. Iron? Calcium? Protein? No problem, there is more than one source for each, and to reiterate, the majority of the plants containing what you want have a greater amount of the substance than any animal product.
