In general, how can you recognize a psychonaut on the street?

It seems easy to tell who's a stoner if they're stereotypical, but what about psychedelic users? Are there any discernable characteristics to the way they look?

I would like to make new friends, especially other girls, who share my interest.

It's a little sketchy to say, "Hi, I'm ____, I like entheogens." Haha

Unfortunately this is not seen more often (screaming about the god damn BATS) !

Not possible IMO. Psychedelic users are the most varied of all chemical users IMO. Obviously though if someones decked out in a super trippy, psychedelic style shirt and other things chances are they might be. Though I have yet to ever met a true psychonaut IRL personally.

I really don't think there is any way to straight up recognize a "psychonaut" or a psychedelic user...they tend to come in all shapes and sizes. Best way is to get to know 'em.

interesting. i'd say psychedelic users are of the easier to pick out. both because of the way they look and what they say. of course there are always exceptions.

That's kind of interesting, could you give a rough description and then we can see how many of us feel like it fits?
Or should everybody just describe themselves.

Sure they are more open about things but the key here is a real or true psychonaut(everyones definition/interpretation of this may be different which is most likely why we see this differently). These people know better than to discuss psychedelic style issues with regular folk and as far as a "look", I don't believe there is one, except super trippy psychedelic style clothing but once again who wears trip gear in regular life most time? The worlds are oil and water IMO.

As a psychonaut myself (also like playing with the occult and drugs, that's a magical combination- pun intended - for self-exploration and growth), I would hope our mark would be subtelty.

Like you don't know I'm a psychonaut. I'm just your average person on the street. The person next to you during the business meeting. But I can also be that crazy guy next to you at the raves or conventions with the wigs and makeup and costumes and all that. haha That's the beauty of wearing many different faces (damn, another pun!) although I reckon I'll be schizophrenic soon enough. :D

I pretty much figured. It's a shame, really. Lol I've taken to drawing all the chemicals I've experienced on my folder in the hopes somebody might be able to tell what they are XD

Yeah, we are in all walks of life, from couch-surfing street punk to successful professionals in all fields. We are everywhere and nowhere mwahahhaha! Ok, you get the idea. Raves were a place where psychonauts congregated a lot (mainly e-users and acid heads, but as the RC scene exploded, others joined... I remember back in like 2003 when people could get AMT and 5-meo-dipt at raves).

edit: college students experiment a lot, so colleges have a higher incidence of them... I think many psychonauts are fairly educated or at least curious about their mind, brain, life, existence, inner beings, etc.

I think that the music that they listen to is the biggest indicator. How you would find that out though, may not be an easy task (outside of hearing them listening to it, or going to a concert for jam bands and such).

^Ehh interesting but i dunno.

I love trance, techno and dubstep but then i also love me some good lyrical rap, country, classic rock and also some punk screamo type stuff. Then theres also a bunch of gay shit scattered through my ipod that i secretly like haha.

Along with what others have said, hair can some times be a good indicator.

Yea punk screamo "type stuff". I know it isnt really a big deal but thought id clarify so others reading dont think im crazy an tryin to give people aneurysms.

But yea i know what your saying about about the music. I guess i mostly listen to trance, techno and dubstep and i love psychedelics and other drugs. So if someone made the inference that i was a fellow psychonaut...they'd be right!

I personally seem attracted to a lot of 80s music (Tears for Fears, Queen, Styx, New Order, Blue Oyster Cult, Joan Jett... I like almost anything from the 80s), europop (Eiffle 65, Aqua, Toybox, etc :D), 90s and early 2000s alternative rock (lol my guilty pleasure), some novelty songs I find on the internet (badger, mushroom, snake XD lol), whatever you'd call Fallout Boy and My Chemical Romance (another kinda guilty pleasure); and since I've started doing psychedelics, I've been more interested in 60s rock like The Who, some Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix.

My music is so varied... Lol but I'd really like to be introduced to some new things. Youtube can be pretty limiting.
