PillPoppingAnimal and Lolie...I'm not an addict, so for that you can just take that comment and shove it mmkay? 8) As for the others, you think that simply reading a list of what I have tried that aren't opiates is going to hurt the situation?
-traction
-tens unit
-ice
-heat
-advil
-tylenol
-tramadol
-lyrica
-arethrotec
-toradol
-distracting activities ie:volunteer work...or hobbies
-yoga/deep breathing/self hypnosis
-going to a psychologist that specializes in chr0nic pain

I don't abuse my medicine, I have taken it as she told me to do. The reason I am grouchy...well...you walk a day in my shoes with this pain and tell me that you smell nothing but fucking roses?! OK? so you two can go to hell.
As for the rest of you thank you for your advice-it is much appreciated :)

I can't for the life of me, see what you hope to obtain by reading this list. All of the items, except for the Ultram, have NOTHING to do with narcotics. They are ALWAYS the first course of treatment before going to opiates. You are now on OC, what do you hope to gain by bringing this stuff up?
In my experience, doctors don't like to stand around and have a patient read ANYTHING to them. She will probably snatch it out of your hand and read it herself.

If you are smart, you will play it cool with this doc., until you can do better. That may mean enduring more pain than you care to, for now. But would you be better off if she gave you the boot?

Now you do what you think is best, I'm just giving you my take on it.

Best

getting a new doctor, is not the same as causing a problem with your current doctor, remember they work for you BUT, you do not want them to raise red flags in your folder, whether or not you are addicted to your meds ISN'T the actual issue, THE ISSUE is you don't want your doc to THINK you are which they can easily do whether you are or not, so if your DOC isn't working for you, switch doctors but do it POLITELY, do not raise red flags by causing a scene, it is alright to ask for more meds and be honest with them, that is all, if they decline then find another DOC, it's pretty much how it will work.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a pain patient, nor have I ever been one, I am just speaking from my own simple common sense

The reason I brought up all of those things which you are EXACTLY correct....they have NOTHING to do with opiates...ALL OF WHICH I HAVE TRIED before even considering opiates. The point?...I exhausted all resources I could before I asked my doctor for opiates.
I still think that I should hand the reins over to my pain doctor because even she admitted to me that she is over her head in this shit.
By the way I did get two 5mg oxycodone hcl IR a day extra. It will help alot. So this thread is over thanks for your help and insults.

you know what Pixie sticks, at first I felt kinda bad for you, not getting the right amount of meds and treatment and such, but after reading your responses to people trying to help you, I find you are rather bitchy and annoying, also people weren't saying that you are a Junkie, they were saying that anyone who takes these meds for an extended amount of time, medical reasons or not, WILL develop a dependence to them, it's just science, nothing you can do about it, our physical bodies do it on their own. but you lashed back with, " oh no u didn't say i was abusing my meds uh huh" shit makes you sound dumb, yes ONE person IMPLIED that they thought u may be using them in a way other than they were directed, but who cares? fuck them and what they think? that parts none of they're fuckin business, and for u to have a fuckin mycardial infarction about it shows your temperament level of maturity is way off, this might have something to do with your inability to communicate effectively with your doctor enough to convey how badly you need more serious pain control........ Good Luck lol

All Apologies

You know something you are right pretty much about all of what you said bpayne. I do come across a good deal of difficulty with caring what alot of people say and think of me, and I do have trouble articulating my thoughts, feelings and the facts to alot of people, even my doctor.
I also have trouble with my temperment and tend to come off as way too defensive.
I meant no harm. I can't expect everyone to know exactly where I am coming from when I type out my "medical problems" on a message board.
So again, you are right.
I was able to make some sort of headway with my doctor today though. She prescribed me 5mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain-60 a month. It's not much but it should help some. I have to learn to be patient-it's never been a strong quality of mine.
All apologies for coming off a bit harsh or defensive. Thank you all for your advice, it did help :D

honestly even with all this said something like getting pain medication (more often than not an opiate) is never gonna be easy, whether youre an addict or not the doctors will always be looking for it
