how much xanax can you take with benadryl?

Also a lot of people don't know this but less is more when it comes to diphenhydramine, you only need to take a low dose (like 25-75mg). Low doses you will get the antihistamine effect, which causes sedation, calmness, and reduce symptoms of allergies etc. Higher doses change the effects, and make it more stimulating (and not in a fun/pleasant way IMO).

I thought it was like atarax and just made you sleepier, what if you took 50mg in the morning and 50mg in the eveining, wold that wake you up?
 
when i had no tolerance to the sedative effects of benedryl, i would literally pass out in 30-60mins after taking DPH.

50mg twice in one day would make you sleepy. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) causes sedation too, it's just that if you take high enough doses the other effects (anticholinergic and SNRI) kick in and can start canceling out the sedation. Diphenhydramine and hydroxyzine are both primarily antihistamines, that's why they're in the same class of drugs, but their other mechanisms of action are slightly different.

It's going to vary from person to person, but generally there is no point in going above 75-100mg if you're taking it for sedation/relaxation. Doses of 25mg-75mg are best for sedation/relaxation. If you find it not sedating enough try a lower dose instead of a higher dose. Also you don't want to take it every day as tolerance develops pretty quickly.
 
Phenergan works really well with benzo's & opiates. It pretty much doubles the effect. I heard about this combo from several people at the methadone clinic. They are extremely cheap and easy to get. It's actual use is for nausea. I usually just take one & I really notice the difference
