A lot of drugs are known to fuck up normal sleep patterns by changing what phases of sleep people experience and/or their duration. Separate to that you get the people whose drug abuse started as a result of insomnia treatment and who are now physically dependent on prescription sleep aids both to sleep and to avoid withdrawals.
And yeah, 10 days without sleeping is a pretty good reason to have a sleep study done. Chances are that there were microsleeps happening (sleep studies usually find that people are getting more sleep than they think but have no awareness of having slept). For many people it isn't the quantity of sleep which is the problem, it's the quality. Not getting enough REM sleep in particular seems to really fuck people up.
Yeah, no shit. They never tell you about the potential dependence problems associated with SSRI's and anti-psychotics. Just because these drugs don't have abuse potential doesn't mean that there isn't the chance of addiction. I was never told that Effexor was addictive but when I tried to get off it, boy was I in for a surprise!

^ Looked Placidyl up, sounds like a great sedative/hypnotic. Why do you think it was taken off the market?
Wish that I would have been able to try it. Sounds good like something I'd like. My screen name should have been GABA-A
if you've tried a good barb, then you're not missing out too much with placidyl. its just one of the many "downers of the past".
I agree, although I do enjoy high doses of Ambien
So I've now an Rx for Temazepam, not a lot of it but 30 15mg caps.
Given my general tolerance to any sedative, what would you suggest dosage wise for the temazepam to use only at night for sleeping.
I have previously taken 1mg Clonazepam by its self at night with little sedation,
so with that as a reference point, what would be a good dose of temazepam (in multiples of 15mg)
For sleep I would recommend 30mg. That's the max therapeutic dose prescribed in the U.S. If that doesn't work than take another 15mg 90 minutes later
^ i'm perscribed 60mg. for insomnia along with 4mg. clonazepam.
