I inject vitamin B12 regularly (once a week or more if I'm sick) if that counts. It definitely helps with my energy levels... I've noticed IM injections are so much less painful if you do them yourself!

I cannot IV, tried with some distilled water and failed miserably. Won't ever try again. Probably a good thing, I'm way too experimental and would probably have tried to IV drugs at a stage. I know the deal with drugs and IM injections so I won't even attempt that.

ket I always IM. no more dirty drips!

funny cause Im actually starting to like the injection process more, maybe Im just weird :p

Actually a lot of people "fall in love with the needle" because it is a routine that provides an eventual result of pleasure. So, if you train your body to like iv-ing, then you can iv even water and still find comfort in it. Pavlov's Dog Syndrome.

^ This is very true :|.

When in serious withdrawals I would often inject water (ususally with citric in so there was at least a bit of a sting to make it more "real" feeling) to try to feel a lil better - it actually works for as long as it takes to depress the plunger too :).

Much as I love my little needle friends, I am very glad that I am in control of them these days rather than t'other way round. Much better that way :).

I have small amount of cocaine stashed away (never managed to save coke before, go willpower!) and am expecting a shipment of needles within the next few days. It will be my first time attempting (and hopefully succeeding) IV administration. I'm hoping it would save me money, give me a better high, and also satisify the self-destructive/self-mutilizing urges I get...

^ And it will... once. Apart from the saving money part cos you'll get through a lot more coke a lot quicker than you would ever believe possible. You'll then quite probably spend several years trying and failing to recapture that initial experience.

Still... fun for the first couple of times :).

And if you're unfamiliar with IV use, then please read this first. Just ignore the "optional" flushing part - flushing is pointless and damaging to veins.

Good luck :).

You will save $ for the first month or so, but once your tolerance rises its no different than snorting it, except for the rush. I could always count on a good rush even on days when i had just enough to stay well. that first shot of the day was always the best.

yes, i inject.

i have IV'd heroin, coke, OC, demerol, opana, and suboxone.

i have had IM dilaudid in the ER when i was being involuntarily checked into the psych ward while withdrawing from IV H and massive amounts of valium (i had the crystal, about 70% pure). the IM dilly was 1 shot in each ass check, about 20 mins apart, unsure of how many mg., but oooooo it hurt SO good =-D.

it was funny at the time because she said i was getting a "palladone" injection, but i had never heard of hydromorphone under this brand name, so i didn't find out til about 2 weeks later when i check out of the psych ward. good times.

In my opinion, injection should be the last choice of route of administration because of how easy it is to OD and how much greater the effect the impurities of the drug will have on you. I do think, however, that injecting non-hard drugs is not so bad, if you know what you're doing. It's really the social stigma (more so than smoking a substance) and the dramatically increased addictiveness potential that makes it a non-option for me.

I've heard people argue that if you don't IV or smoke something, then you're 'wasting it', whatever 'it' is in the context. But think of how much more you'll long the rush..

Once you go on the needle (or the pipe, in some cases), it's very hard to go back. It might be a stone better left unturned.

/unprofessional rant

EDIT: come to think of it, I didn't mean to sound absolute. Some people can handle the needle, and that's a fact. But you never know if you'll be able to handle it. Better play it safe.

I think as long as you stay away from injecting the harder drugs like coke, amp/meth and oprs(H, dilly, oxy etc...) you will probably be fine in regard to addiction, but still, there is always the chance something could go wrong with any injection or drug use for that matter unless your in a hospital, and even then things often go wrong in hospitals so you can never be sure you will live for your next shot. The only way to minimize premature death or other complications is to read up and research as much as possible and actually use that info consistently, unfortunately for me I often didnt use the info and just cotton filtered shots and probly fucked myself up. That one time where you say "fuck it I dont have what I need for a safe shot(micron filters in my case) so ill do what I can" is probably the time something will go wrong. Always do your research and be as safe as possible.

i don't really get why more people don't inject. it's just...so much better. Sure you might argue that it's a more addictive method of administration, but if you're someone who is prone to addiction you should probably stay away from any drug worth injecting anyway so...i dunno.

I shouldn't say i don't get why, because i know it's just a fear-based defense mechanism combined with a social stigma that causes most people to turn down the needle. Regardless, i think it's a silly little hangup and anyone who's really interested in experiencing a substance for all it is worth will take a stab at an IV administration at least once or twice.

I really don't think it's silly, and you yourself mentioned the 'fear-based mechanism', which, in my opinion, serves to better protect most people. You can't argue that the addictiveness potential from IV isn't a lot greater than from oral or intranasal routes of administration, and I think that that, more than the social stigma is why people try to avoid IV'ing.

I used to inject A LOT years back. These days will do it on special occasions. Apart from the rush you get from injecting being amazing, I think i used to really love the preparation involved in getting your shot ready, finding a vein, etc, etc. I think a few people before me have said, sometimes i would just inject sterile water, simply for the excitement of getting it all ready.

I'm all set with the injecting for now, The whole finding and sticking a vein skeeves me too much

I'v seriously thought about trying it, but I'm waiting to obtain something designed for I'V use. I guess street herion is cut with I'V use in mind, but its one of the few opiates I'v tried and I know I would just snort it till I'm out and be nodding to hard to think about getting a needle. I'v got nothing against I'V use, then I'd be like all the people that snort coke all day but make fun of crackheads.
