loperamide
promethazine
clonodine(i usually get more cold than hot so i dunno if i want this)

as soon as i get enough money i can get a good bit of xanax or valium im guessing valium would help during the day with the anxiety with the long half life

anyway i was on close to and some times over 100mg a day for prob 6 months now but work got slow and well i had to cut back,i went on a drinking binge cause i thought i would withdrawl and i went 6 days without the DONE,of coarse i had alcohol w/d to deal with by then and i got some methadone,

so at thois point i can go 3-5 days without a dose depending on how much my last dose was that is

im thinking this is the thing for me to do since i dont work alot in the winter

restless leg and the no sleeping fuck with me the most,im guessing the rls is somehow got to be "kin" with anxiety cause i get it when anxiety is present

anyway im not saying this is set in stone but it "seems like a good plan"

i would just wait until you had enough money for the benzos. If you can make it through the days, just work and keep yourself active- maby workout, something to stress your muscles to make your body tired.

The benzos will make you sleep. Very well for a fact.

So basically, use the benzos when you need sleep, and the other drugs only if your dying during the daytime, whatever dose of what you seem fit.

I dunno, I never eat benzos, ever.

And everytime I think they will help in heroin w/d and they dont do shit, I always have to take like 50mg valium + 150mg seroquel, and I can only sleep for like 2-4 hours.

I usually eat Mirapex for RLS, helps SO much, just dont take alot because it can make you feel worse.

Nyquil I'll throw in with all those, plus some dank. That usually gets me to sleep, but I have to have alot, my anxiety SHOOTS through the roof, and the RLS, since Im diabetic and diagnosed with RLS, is also 50x worse. :\

What dose of methadone are you on now? If you are still on a 100mg you schould really try too temper too a much lower dose.
I got of methadone about 2 years ago and i temperd my dose for about 3 months till i was down too 5 mg.

I temperd without a docter to i just lowerd my dose 3 or 5 mg every time i feld like my body was ready for it. That was 3 too 5 days.
After that i used heroin for 3 weeks but only verry verry small amounts. On the last days of my heroin temper i was down to about 0,05mg a day. I did this so i could w/d from a short acting opiat. But i was really ready to quit and i did not want to get high from it any more. You should only do this if you really feel like you can handle it but i was sure i was not going to relapse.

Then when i quited opiats completly i was only taking benzo's and loperamide. And it was almost pianless just a couple of days of insommnia and the shits but thats about it.

So the most importend thing is to temper your dose. Getting of at 100mg is going to be way to hard. Make the temper really slow so that every time you lower your dose your body can handle it without any pain.

Good luck its a long road..........

you stay drunk for 6 days and tell me how long it takes u to feel normal again ,im really badly allergic to alcohol but it makes me feel fucking awesome

if i get drunk one night i wake up shaking and puking(well dry heaving) anxiety attacks and so on ,couldnt eat or sleep, sweating so i kept on drinking everyday from the time i awoke till the time i passed out ...i have made it close to 30 days drinking all day long chugging the alcohol...worst thing was i couldnt eat so i lost alot of weight

when i stayed drunk for almost 30days i didnt sleep for 9 days ..shook so fucking bad my g/f had to hold the cup cause i shook the tea out of the cup...so yea lets not go there ,i know i need to stay away from it ,cause the doctor told me i looked like i had been an alcohol for 20+ years from my liver enzyme count, milk thistle help get it back down to just 10 over

i had binge drank since i was 14,and i was only 22 when i had the blood tests,i went till my body gave out

anyway i just took 20mg of methadone today and its keeping me well ,i can go a few days inbetween doses so thats what i do ,if i did 100mg right now i would be OUT for the whole day....

you stay drunk for 6 days and tell me how long it takes u to feel normal again
Assuming I drank Sunday through Friday (6 days of drinking), then woke up Saturday feeling pretty shitty, I'd feel normal by Saturday afternoon/evening.

It would take me less than one day to feel normal again. And I wouldn't call that withdrawal. Its a "welcome back to reality" effect, but not withdrawal.

You use that "convenient" excuse a lot. To try to use it as an excuse for drinking too much (which I have seen you do) doesn't make sense. The whole "allergic to alcohol" thing is just AA propaganda anyway.

In reality, an alcohol allergy would be no different than a peanut allergy. People who are allergic to peanuts have bad reactions when they eat them, so they don't eat them. People who are "allergic" to alcohol consume it nonstop. Its quite counterintuitive and contradictory.

oh get real you alway try and break things down into simple fact and reason and everyone lknows there is more to everything than that

i use it to drink alot huh? thats funny ...i started drinking the first day cause i wanted to i dont need a reason,i want the feeling what happens after words is what happens

simple fact is HEALTH RECOVERY CENTER has blown all that AA shit outta the water and they came up with hte alcohol allergy ,if you can honestly feel better in one day after drinking from the time you woke up till the time u passed out without eating anything then u my man are super man

i mean call up and talk to joan mathers so you can stick your foot in your mouth ,you dont believe it cause it isnt on FOX NEWS? .....she will talk to you and ill gladly give you the number

but here is a tidbit
"The fact that his first drinking experience made him sick was a clear message that his body couldn't tolerate alcohol. His continued drinking forged a pattern of allergy/addiction: at first, alcohol made him high as his body reacted to it by producing its own addictive endorphins; later, as the alcohol began to leave his system, his body began to crave more to stave off withdrawal symptoms. Both the craving and his emotionality (weeping at his mother's grave, his depression) stemmed from the effect of alcohol withdrawal on his brain."

more research has been done these days then ever ,and they encourage people to NOT go to AA ,simply put it dont work

i really dont understand how this is so impossible to believe ..and i would like you to document a 6 day all day everyday binge of alcohol wether it be beer or liquor

eh fuck it i hope you try and disprove this as well
"Allergic/Addicted: Same Diagnosis, Different Chemistry

Not all alcoholics fit neatly into the pattern described above. Some may actually be allergic to alcohol. This theory has been advanced by Theron Randolph, M.D., the father of clinical ecology, a new field of medicine that contends that allergies to foods and environmental chemicals cause a number of physical conditions. Randolph has shown that addictions to food and alcohol can produce alternating highs and lows. The highs are feelings of well-being that occur when the body is supplied with the addictive substance; the lows are withdrawal symptoms. In his work with members of Alcoholics Anonymous, Randolph discovered that many were allergic/addicted to the sugars, grapes, and grains from which alcohol is made. He demonstrated that these people begin to crave alcohol when exposed to the underlying component to which they are addicted. In addition to Randolph's work, a study of 422 alcoholics by an Illinois researcher, Herbert Karolus, M.D., showed that most were allergic to wheat or rye, the grain bases of many distilled liquors.

An allergic response can affect any organ in the body. The skin may react with hives, the intestinal tract with diarrhea, the brain with migraine headaches or altered moods and behavior. Alcohol can wreak havoc on the brain chemistry of allergic/addicted individuals. Their first drinking experience is always unpleasant. Their bodies send a clear message of alcohol intolerance by making them feel ill. Unfortunately, many people try to overcome this and "learn to drink." With repeated doses of alcohol, their bodies have no choice but to adapt. Allergist William Philpott, M.D., describes this adaptation as an allergic/addicted response to alcohol. The pattern begins with a high when alcohol is ingested. One of the ways the body reacts to substances to which it is allergic is by producing its own addictive narcotics, the opioid endorphins, which create a feeling of euphoria. Once the pleasurable endorphin effect, the high, wears off, the withdrawal phase occurs. This is often manifested by emotional symptoms: depression, confusion, and anxiety. The only way to overcome these feelings is with another dose of the addictive substance.

In the early stages of this type of alcoholism, drinking provides only a gentle lift. The equally subtle letdown that comes later is usually not associated with the pleasure of drinking. But in time the period of pleasure becomes shorter, while the withdrawal symptoms become more intense.

Given this pattern, it is easy to understand why the allergic drinker returns to alcohol in an effort to avoid the pain of withdrawal, Unlike the II ADH/THIQ alcoholic, who can tolerate large amounts of alcohol with minimal behavioral changes and mild or no hangovers, the allergic/addicted alcoholic tends to be a binge drinker who loses control easily. People with this kind of chemistry typically get hangovers. They also have a tendency, when drinking, toward altered personality: sudden anger, depression, or abusiveness caused by the allergic response of their brains and central nervous systems."

So long as you taper down, methadone withdrawal is not that bad. Yes, it is relatively long lasting compared to heroin/pharms, but it is not particularly intense.

Save up your doses, and titrate down very slowly. Do not go a few days on then a few days off. Take it every day, and lower the dose every 5-7 days. When you get to 5mg a day (or less), stop. Don't bother with loperamide, just let you body do what it needs to do. The most acute period is during the 5-7 day period (if I remember correctly), and the physical withdrawal is completely over at around 12 days. Your legs will still be twitching for at least a month.

If I had known getting off of methadone was so easy quit, I would have done it a number of years ago.

Oddly enough, I experienced no cravings or depression, and still have no desire to use opioids.

Of course, none of this true of benzo withdrawal, which is some truly horrific shit...

Hydro- I totally agree that alcohol is an aquired taste. Some people say they liked the taste of their first but I don't buy it. It's like Allen Carr put it (no fan BTW), society brainwashes people from a young age to drink, especially in the UK.

I didn't really understand what you meant when you said allergy, I was also thinking on the same lines as peanut allergy, swelling face etc- but once you explained it made sense. Unfortunatley I fall in to the allergy category, but only have 1 drink now and then wonder why I did it as I feel mildly nauseous etc.

alot of people dont understand it they think its just the people using the excuse to drink when in reality alcohics (well the allergic-addicted) pic up another beer in the morning the same reason a heroin addict needs his fix in the morning so to speek

for pretty much all the allergic addicted ones usually all it takes is one night of heavy drinking and they will look like they had been drunk for a month the next morning(shaking,anxiety-etc)

i dont know why i fell off the wagon here this last time but i know one thing if i start drinking and dont continue to drink more i feel like shit, and as soon as i get half a beer down i felt FINE

classic allergy its all explained above but this isnt what the thread is about i dont want it closed :)

loperamide
promethazine
clonodine(i usually get more cold than hot so i dunno if i want this)

as soon as i get enough money i can get a good bit of xanax or valium im guessing valium would help during the day with the anxiety with the long half life

If you can go from 3 to 5 days without a dose, your taper is almost over, congratulations for this effort cause I know it's hard.
I don't think Loperamide can help, unless you use insanely large doses, and Promethazine is useless for withdrawal in my opinion.

But Clonidine can help you a lot.
If restless leg and insomnia are the worse symptoms for you, Clonidine can help with both.
Try to use it 2 to 3 times a day: ~0,075mg to 0,1mg during the day and 0,150mg to 0,2mg at night to sleep. (up the doses if the desired effects are not reached. one hour after taking 0,150mg-0,2mg it should knock you out, even during a hard withdrawal)
I guarantee it will help you, and it will make you sleep.

And with the benzos you'll get (Valium is the good option) and if you stick to your taper plan, you're gonna make it!

the problem is people think if you ccan go 3=5 days your alright, i was on done for a few years 145mg everyday and my real sickness didnt kick in till the 4,5 days then after 7-8 your ready to blow your brains out, any way i finally had to taper, i went from 145 to 105 over night with no problems at all the the next week i went to around 70mgs stayed there for a couple weeks the got down to 30-40 it wasnt too bad after that i stopped, on the small dose my wd started about the 3rd day it took clonidine, xanax for a few then i didnt take anything for over a month and still had trouble sleeping, my mind has all screwed up it was a mess so i relapsed, anyway my advise since youve not been on it long is to get off asap, clonidine works alright, if you cant aford benzos get some nyquil or some over the counter meds that help sleep, and just ride it out.

i have always been this way as in ,when i was using opids oxy, heroin, etc i could go a day without before i got sick,my metabolism must be screwed up or somthing

but when i started taking methadone my body really held on to it i was forced to go with out it one time and it took 7 fuckin days before the insomnia kicked in ,but i got on bupe later well like after a week of heavy oxy iv use that is ...and even though i wasbangin 100-120mg of oxy it took about 4 days to even get the rush ...so im guessing my body holds on to stuff more than others

the promethazine helped awhile back ,it took the nausea away nicely

i remember having the .2 and i dont remember it doing anything to me i took it as a potetiater ,i even tried the IV route and still nothing...is there such a thing as tolerance to this ?

since it lowers the blood pressure will it make me cold(at a dose to knock me out that is)

over the counter med!!!? are you serious i know methadone builds up ,and i have been on it for awhile pretty much everyday use

anything over the counter is pretty much diphenhydramine and cause the worst restless leg i ever had in w/d ...i had restless leg before they even knew what it was i remember thrashing my leg around in bed when i was 13

You might need Ibuprofen for pain/aches.

The clonidine will definatley help you in the process with sleeping problems and anxiety even.

Akomplice Recipe For Detox.

Hey, this will help you. You'll be thanking me when it's over.

Read this thread, the posts I posted.
Ignore the idiot that has no clue what he's talking about..

"how should I kick?"

But to make it easier, I'll post MY detox method. After I edited the Thomas Recipe for opiate detox. So he's really to thank, wherever he is lol.

Also I just found out, I had some lyrica laying around. I took one 75mg and 1/2-1 valium, 2 lomotil and I feel absolutely NO withdrawl symptoms off of a 320 Oxycodone habit a day.

So maybe lyrica is something you should get. and I should add to my recipe.

"PLEASE NOTE: I am not a doctor, simply a long-time Rx opiate junkie who has had many opportunities to develop a way to detox. This is a recipe for at-home self-detox from opiates based on my experience as well as that of many other addicts. It is not intended as professional medical advice. It is always wise to make sure none of the recipe ingredients or procedures conflict with medications you may be taking. Likewise, if you have any medical condition, disease, allergy or any other health issue, consult your doctor before using the recipe. Thanks, Thomas

THOMAS RECIPE REVISED. (by Akomplice.)

If you can't take time off to detox, I recommend you follow a taper regimen using your drug of choice or suitable alternate -- the slower the taper, the better.

For the Recipe, You'll need:

1. Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others.

2. Lomotil (Diphenoxylate & Atropine). Ask your doctor for a prescription, tell him you have the runs.

2B. If you CAN'T get lomotil, immodium AD caplets and liduid.

3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps) from the health food store.

4. Strong wide-spectrum mineral supplement with at least 100% RDA of Zinc, Phosphorus, Copper, Magnesium and Potassium (you may not find the potassium in the same supplement).

5. Vitamin B6 caps.

6. Access to hot baths or a Jacuzzi (or hot showers if that's all that's available).

7. Clonidine ( Catapres). Patches and pills are best. But if you can only get one, pills. Clonidine is for high blood pressure and high blood pressure is the cause of many of the withdrawl symptoms. Cold sweats, leg cramps, shakes, ect.. It really does more to ease withdrawl symptoms than you'd think. It's a must.

It's also a good idea to have someone take your blood pressure regularly, but at best you should take your pulse regularly.

8. Bentyl (Dicyclomine)- For stomach cramps/pain. Helps a lot.

9. Some kind of NSAID, some reccommend Naproxin Sodium or Ibuprofen. (Advil or Aleve. It's better to get prescription strength 800mg Ibuprofen or Naproxin but OTC will work.

10. Kaopectate (bismuth subsalicylate)- For the diarrhoea but mostly for the nausea.

10B. Now if you can get promethazine (Phenergan) it is an RX antiemetic or anti nausea med. It also causes sedation so be careful when mixing it with benzos.

11. Candy, Chocolate. - Sugar/Chocolate has shown to have some of the same properties of heroin. It releases endorphins that are natural opiates. The same can be said for exercising. If you can force yourself to exercise you will feel much better for a couple hours afterwards. More on this later..

12. Tons of WATER. Gatoraid too, you absolutely HAVE to stay hydrated. You'll feel better, cause all that puking and shitting and sweating dehydrates you and only compounds the shittiness you'll be going through.

13. Carnation Instant Breakfasts/ Ensures. - This is also a must, your wont be doing too much "heathly" eating while detoxing so drinking some ensures or carnation instant breakfasts will help you keep nutrients and "food" in your body.

14. Movies, Video Games And Books. Stay occupied, stay off bluelight as someone said.

How to use the recipe:

Start the vitamin/mineral supplement right away (or the first day you can keep it down), preferably with food. Potassium early in the detox is important to help relieve RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). Bananas are a good source of potassium if you can't find a supplement for it.

Begin your detox with regular doses of Valium (or alternate benzo), Lomotil, Clonidine, Bentyl, NSAID, Kaopectate.

Start with a dose high enough to produce sleep. Before you use any benzo, make sure you're aware of how often it can be safely taken. Different benzos have different dosing schedules. Taper your Valium dosage down after each day. The goal is to get through day 4, after which the worst WD symptoms will subside. You shouldn't need the Valium after day 4 or 5.

During detox, hit the hot bath or Jacuzzi as often as you need to for muscle aches. Don't underestimate the effectiveness of hot soaks. Spend the entire time, if necessary, in a hot bath. This simple method will alleviate what is for many the worst opiate WD symptom.

Use the Lomotil/Imodium to stop the runs. Take as needed, but don't over do it because you wont need a handfull of pills, it works great. Also there is atropine in it to deter abuse.. Don't take it, however, if you don't need it.

At the end of the fourth day, you should be waking up from the Valium and experiencing the beginnings of the opiate WD malaise. Upon rising (empty stomach), take the L-Tyrosine. Try 2000 mgs, and scale up or down, depending on how you feel. You can take up to 4,000 mgs. Take the L-Tyrosine with B6 to help absorption.

Wait about one hour before eating/drinking breakfast. The L-Tyrosine will give you a surge of physical and mental energy that will help counteract the malaise. You may continue to take it each morning for as long as it helps. If you find it gives you the "coffee jitters," consider lowering the dosage or discontinuing it altogether. Occasionally, L-Tyrosine can cause the runs. Unlike the runs from opiate WD, however, this effect of L-Tyrosine is mild and normally does not return after the first hour. Lowering the dosage may help.

Continue to take the vitamin/mineral supplement with breakfast.

As soon as you can force yourself to, get some mild exercise such as walking, cycling, swimming, etc. This will be hard at first, but will make you feel considerably better.

And the rest is self explanatory.

This concludes the new revised "Thomas Recipe For Opiate Detox".

Thank you and take care

Peace,

Akomplice
