Bupe How does suboxone get along with others?

When I first got on suboxone, I was transitioning off of methadone maintenance, and the transition was difficult. And the doctor said something that I always remember -- she said, "When you kicked oxycontin, it's too bad you didn't immediately get on suboxone, because it's a really easy transition from oxycodone to buprenorphine. But methadone and bupe just don't play well together." So I had to get pretty sick before I could start getting the benefits of the bupe.

Anyway, my point is -- I'm curious what other drugs do and don't go well with bupe. Does anyone have experience with this? Has anyone tried taking a "buprenorphine holiday" so they could get high? How long did you have to wait? How'd it go?

the longer the half life the worse the opioid is to switch to bupe from. That’s one reason methadone is the worst it has such a long half life. Fentanyl is one of the easiest to switch from.

I find that I can transition from tramadol to bupe & vice versa no problem.
In fact, taking tramadol on top of low doses of bupe is pretty nice.

I also have never noticed much switching from hydrocodone back to bupe either.


It was usually heroin that I'd get precipitated withdrawals from.

And although fentanyl is a short acting agonist, it does hang around in fats & what not in the body, meaning you might have PWD when switching from fentanyl to bupe.

I personally think the more potent an opioid is, the harder it'll be to transition to bupe from, rather than half-life. Although the half-life does matter to some degree too. But for example, tramadol has a longer half life than hydrocodone, but I can switch from trams to bupe just fine, because bupe is incredibly way more potent. But the effects of bupe are more boring in comparison to tramadol or tramadol/bupe combo.

So buoe for me keeps me straight. It can be pretty damn forgiving if you only relapse for a day maybe 2. But don't press your luck and do a 3rd or 4th day.

I used to be on 20mg in down to 8mg. I've found that when I do perc 30s it's pretty damn forgiving and yes I still get high. Nowhere near as high as without subs, and I need a lot more but I still get high. I took my 8mg sub today at 10am. Around 9pm I got 3 perc 30s( most likely fent or something, Mexican one that feel energetic like real oxy) and I got high as fuck of the first one. It's 4am now I just finished the 3rd one.

Now if I snort actual fent powder it seems to make me puke often. It will also put me into a hellish withdrawal if I use 2 days in a row.


I've found it's actually best to keep taking the sub daily but in a low dose, if you wanna avoid the hellish withdrawal you get from taping off subs and replacing it with opiates for a few days, only to take a sub the day after. I cant wait because I won't sleep and it makes things worse.

But like I said, a few perc 30s and then keep asking sub the other next day and I'm golden

Edit: I wanted to add that this i rare for me. I do not tempt my sobriety that much, shit is dangerous. Every few months I'll slip up a day or 2. Recently I slipped for 3 days, did like 13 of the m box 30s and like a 20 bag of fent. I felt like absolute shit for 2-3 days even had to call off work until my subs started working again

That doesn't make sense. If you wanted to make it political, wouldn't it be the conservative? It kicks every opiate out to the curb. It wants only 1 kind of drug and will kick any other drug out of your system with the quickness

Anything passed 24 hours use with fent, while taking subs and you're screwed. I've been on subs for around 10 years, and for the most part I've stayed clean. I'm from an era where H was actually H, there was no fent. I fucked around and got some fent one day, and made the mistake of using it for 2-3 days, and the withdrawals kicked my ass. I wasn't expecting to have WD since I only took 5 bags total, but that fent is super strong, and short lasting. I don't enjoy it at all, and feel bad for all the new age addicts who have never got to enjoy real H.

I've since learned, if you're going to use fent.. don't go passed the 24 hour mark. Problem is, that shit is so cheap.. the dealers don't want to sell 1 or 2 bags, they want to sell by the bundle... and I don’t want that much. Which is a good thing, because it keeps me from buying any.. period. That fent high isn't even worth the WDs that it comes with in my humble opinion.
