In the past ten years of pretty much consistent opioid consumption the closest I have gotten to a beneficial opiate regimine is when taking several opioid agonists and or antagonists together. I consume poppy seeds, tramadol, kratom and other lesser known agonists/antagonist herbals on a ever changing regimine.
I am under the impression that I may have a sort of endogenous opioid deficiency, considering the positive effects that I started feeling when taking opiates, the stimulating, focusing antideppressant type effects. I have experienced plenty of dysphoric and dangerous symptoms of chronic addiction, witnessed a score of deaths close to me in a couple of years.....it is no joke, opiate dependence can be a personal hell. I am convinced that proper management of dosage, titration, changing opioid agonists from time to time, and proper diet and use of medicinal herbs in conjunction with informed opiate use can be a beneficial experience. Once I got off of heroin and even oxycodone , and started using other milder opiate agonists, my life started becoming manageable.
A personal choice that I wouldnt wish any person HAD to commit to.....opiate dependance. We are all depenedent on morphine and other endogenous peptides and alkaloid opioid agonists , " opioidopamine " motivational drive consiousness supporting compounds. there is a sort of "pre-trans fallacy" at play in some people considerations and actions towards opiates. Opioids occur in milk, gluten, wheat, and a growing number of researched herbals. I looked at this situation I was in and decided to start researching and trying as many different things as I could find the time and money for.
The longest I have been "clean" of exogenous opiates is 3 months in the last ten years. I like the support of an alternative to methadone and buprenorphine, both of which I have been maintained on. I like buprenorphine for a few weeks at a time, but methadone is something I only really like to take for a few days.
I know my experience is nothing to brag about, if a person wants to truly control their endogenous and exogenous reactions to opiates they probably should do them no more than 2 days in a row every ten days, with at least 5 days in between. opiophile.org has some discussions about these issues.
I look at my opioid consumption as a basic hormonal supplementation.
