How do raves get away with this?

I went to a rave last night... it was a public rave with a webpage and tickets and everything.

Security was basic at the rave, they patted you down and made you empty your pockets. They said no illegal substances on the webpage. Some kids were caught tryihng to sneak pills and they were confiscated. I snuck some in my balls.

When we finally get inside, a girl with a badge approaches me and asks if I need anything. I didnt know what she meant at first and then I finally realized it. I asked her if she had molly and she pulls out a backpack full of it. She wasn't the only one either, there were 10 guys who worked for the event with badges that had backpacks full of pills.

What I don't understand is how raves are able to get away with this.. especially public raves. All it would take is 1 cop in plain clothes and the whole rave is busted... but that didnt' happen. In fact at the end of the night there were tons of cops on the perimeters standing outside but not doing anything. Cops have to be aware that people are doing massive amounts of drugs at these raves..

So whats the deal? Do the cops not care? How many raves have been busted?
 
i noticed this too during my first rave when i bought e from some random guy walking around saying 'x' a lot. i thought it was really crazy that no one gets arrested or anything.
 
There's undercovers at raves in LA and san bernardino now... just give them time they'll start cracking down.
 
They definately will bust dealers if they can, but mostly they know it's a lost cause. If they try shut down the big raves like this the scene will just gravitate back towards small illegal parties which they can't control or monitor. At least this way they can search people on the way in, catch a few dealers to hit their quotia, and have first aid nearby.

Well, raves really don't happen where I live anymore simply because the mayor at the time put the anti-rave act into full effect.

however, prior to that, every rave i went to had uniformed and plain clothed cops there that were off duty. the uniformed ones were usually friends or family members of the promoters of the events. they knew what was going on, but in speaking with most of them, they were just there to make sure things were running safely.

cops aren't stupid, and sometimes they are willing to watch with a blind eye. it all comes down to safety.

undercovers are totally different in the essence that they are TRYING to bust dealers.

That would be the handiest stash container ever!! Have a false nut that opened up like one of those plastic easter eggs! Hmmmmmm........... =D
 
do they ever try to bust the people who are just buying small amounts of drugs at a rave? like is it something i should be worried about?

I've certainly never heard of controlled buys happening by undercovers at an event. It's usually a raid by uniformed officers, or the officers on duty for security detail happen to spot you from a distance and walk over to arrest. Otherwise it's just the dealers who have to worry about who they sell to.

Never lived in the USA. But, if I went to a rave and NOBODY was walking around selling like you described, then I would be surprised. It's par for the course.
 
THEY HAVE UNDERCOVERS IN LOS ANGELES RAVES be careful how you sell and how you purchase goods at raves and check out who does not look like a narc, most of the time if a narc doesn't catch you and security does they just kick you out and take your narcotics(talking about semi big promoted events)
 
My brother and I have talked about this a lot. I think that one some level someone is just getting paid a lot of money. They obviously know what's going on so at some point it seems like someone would just have to get paid to look the other way.

ok , think about it

they "pat" u down, and steal ur pill/molly

then take some and sell some and get an amazing high and a BIG profit! besides getting paid to do all that

so they are paid to steal and paid to take E/molly and paid to sell drugs...good job
 
Surprisingly I haven't had any luck finding people walking around declaring that they have drugs for sale at any rave or club. The one time I did find someone walking around announcing his wares, at a psytrance party in NYC, I found that I had bought a bunk roll.
 
hey guys be very carefull I do security at raves and trust me there are under cover cops in all of them, its rare they bust ppl with or two but if your moving numbers they will get you
