How do addicts score during snowstorms?

In places like New York and Vancouver, what do heroin addicts do when there is 3 feet of snow, it's still coming down and they need to score?

What happens to the open air drug markets in such weather? I'm very curious. I know addicts can be very motivated. I wonder how much snow it takes to shut down the heroin markets.
 
this came up during a Narcotics Anonymous meeting i was at, people were telling stories of how they put their lives at risk going out in whiteout blizzards to score a dimebag or whatever.
Point is, when an addict is in withdrawal they are willing to go to great risks to get out of withdrawal, that's how a lot of pharmacy robberies happen.
 
People who live in such places are used to the weather, its not as big of a deal when your city has the infrastructure in place to clear roads quickly.
 
Drug addicts , junkies infact work high paying jobs and save up for snow mobiles and SUV's with proper 4x4 and snow chains for tyres.

Drug addicts are genuinely very patient people who save up doing legitimate work for their drug hobby and the requirements that come with it. This is often the case with oxycontin addicts.

We just drive to the dealer. Willing to take risks the average driver is not willing to take. I have driven in nearly white out conditions before.

Where there is a will there's a way for sure.
We've been snow'd in for the past week and my fiancé and I still manage to score safely. We've just been going out when we have a small break in the weather and buying more at once so we don't have to keep going out.

Our connects are good to go 24/7 rain sleet or snow so that's not a issue.
 
Lol last week my friend and I drove in a snow storm for some alcohol, pizza, and weed. And I mean a storm.... it wasn't the best idea, but we survived. I'm sure if I was still a heroin addict I would definitely find a way... Yet, I think if a snow storm like that was coming I would probably just buy a lot of dope ahead of time so I wouldn't have to worry about it. They have the weather channel for a reason.

I'd like to hear these stories of people scoring in whiteout blizzards.

I imagine if it's bad enough the dealers will say fuck it and there will be no open air market. OR it would just be physically impossible because the roads are practically shut down... No buses running, nothing. Posting this thread, I wasn't thinking of ordinary snowstorms. I'm thinking of unexpected/unprecedented, huge ones like the one in NE USA, that affect areas that usually get nowhere near as much snow

Copped in a few bad snow storms and in a tropical storm. During the tropical storm they had banned highway travel, so I took the highway and cruised along quickly since no one was on it. Kept getting worried that I was going to get pulled over but it worked out alright.

I don't know about open air markets because majority of deals are done through planned meet up via cell phone. Snow definitely fucks with the transportation of drugs though and certainly makes copping more difficult.

Absolutely true. I live near and work in "America's snowiest major city" blessed or cursed with an average of over 126" (10.5 feet) of snow each year. Typically a major storm simply slows things down a bit, sometimes to a crawl. However the ability to quickly deploy equipment and personnel to clear snow renders most storms to the level of a minor inconvenience.

Regardless, if we are talking about a desperate addict, neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays such people from the swift completion of their necessary task.
 
My dealer is a workaholic, freezing rain and snow storms don't even slow him down, he's always at my place in less than 1hr... Now that's some work ethic. Respect.
 
Dude, I would walk in any kind of weather. Itd take a handful of tornados to stop me. Sure, some dealers will close shop... But I have the desire and will to find those that dont. Addiction is powerful, and so is drive for money.
 
No snow here, but I have dealt with hurricanes. The following days after Ike, there was no cell phone service. Me and a buddy ended up seeing a dealer waiting in a mile+ long line for a gas station. Drugs find you eventually.
