How did you first start opiates?

Sorry to memberate, or should I say post-moderate, but this seems more like a DC topic to me. But I'm not infallible; maybe you guys want this here instead.

I got started on opiates because this kid I knew left two tylenol 4's in my car at school. When I explained how pissed I was because they do random car searches and I could have gotten in trouble, he told me to keep them as a way of saying sorry. I fell in love that day.

Later, I did some research on the internet, and found some hycodan or whatever its called, the hydrocodone pills prescribed for cough, that had been sitting in my medicine cabinet for years. I started taking them before work (at Trader Joes), and I realized they allowed me to work harder and faster, took away any back pain I had, and made me extremely sociable.

Things progressed and I moved from those to norcos to oxycontin to black tar, as my tolerance rose and I discovered tar was incredibly cheap compared to pills. A gradual step by step process, as it usually goes. Now I've been on suboxone for 10 months without slipping. A happy ending! =D

Lol... yeah maybe you're right, I'll shoot it over there (if you DC guys don't mind?).

I got started on some Soma a friend gave me at work. From there it went to Percs and on up threw Pods i am using for tea now. Funny part is, same guy who gave me the Soma and Percs to get me going, is now a cop. Go figure /

my girl had me start on opiates i had never touched a opiate before her but one line of dope and i smoked dope once before that...... but i was like 16 fuckin around wit the old heads.... just trying to be cool and down....

i remmber i fell asleep puking on myself that night i woke up wit a pile of puke all over me and around me..... i was sooo fucking stupid as a kid....

I did vicodin and percoset when I was in my young teens but didn't feel too "high". Fast-forward a few years later in the ER after a bad car accident--one shot of fentanyl and I was officially in love.

Read up about it. Worked out that codeine isn't the best feeling in the world, went to hospital after a car accident and found myself being very social after my Morphine shot. I used to think they would only make you sleepy, not sociable. I'm dependent from 9 months use but can't wait to be pain free so I can go back to my normal regiment of partying with stims. I can't party on opiates, they are too sedating.

Do you still like weed?

I was into coke and weed(among other drugs), before I got addicted to opiates. Now, I hate everything else besides opiates. I don't like alcohol, but I tolerate it.

I remembered going through my moms medicine cabinet because i knew she had painkillers because she had a tumor removed from her back a while ago...so i read up that she had "codeine contin" (time release codeine in canada) and i just crushed the tabs up and parachuted them...

When i was 15 i had my wisdom teeth extracted. Now this was back when dr's seemed to be a little more generous with the narcotics. I got 30 7.5 hydrocodones and i soon figured out taking 3 or 4 was better than taking one or two. I think i was in love right off the bat.

I had had them after surgery. When I had my wisdom teeth out and had hydro, I was like whoa, I wanna go home I feel funny. I think after it was Tramadol, rec. But I'm not addicted to opiates.

im somewhat the same way as you two, coke and weed and some opiates, but then to H and thats all i mainly wanted to do, but i still smoked and drank some, but not as much. i like drinking quite a bit only if im getting drunk. ill sit around and drink a couple every once in awhile, but for the most part im just gettin drunk.

i would do coke still, only if it were free (and quality, i wouldnt really wanna do the shitty shit and blank out stare at the wall all night).

as for my first experience, i took what i thought was tylenol, which turned out to be tramadol. i was in love. i had only smoked weed before that.

The first opiod to grace my liver was hydrocodone. I had found 2 full bottles in the medicine cabinet my Mom used to keep her drugs in. They were over 3 years old so i took both bottles and took 20mgs for my first time. Fell in love.

My first was OTC codeine and i fell in love instantly

I had smoked weed a few times prior to that but it never excited me

Well, I've never been addicted to any kind of opiate/opioid, but my first recreational opiate consumption was a noseful of about 20mg of oxy, recommended by a friend. It was love at first sight.
My first real binge, minor addiction, and opiate withdrawal was when I got mono. I was given a total of two 50-pill bottles of 10mg percs for the pain, and laughed when I saw that the bottle said "take 1 pill every 6 hours for pain." I think I ate about 2-3 pills every 4 hours. This lasted for about 2 1/2 weeks, then I was cut off. I don't remember any withdrawal symptoms that real opiate addicts mention, actually. But I do remember needing 30mg to get out of bed, being very irritable when I had no more, and sweating profusely every night for about 5 nights afterwards.
Nowadays, I'm smoking opium every now and then because my weed source happens to have a lot. It's alright, but I find that it's a bit more subtle of a high than Oxy. With Oxy, I could really feel the high, whereas opium is just relaxing with a hint of itchiness.

I started out with Paracetamols with 10 or 20 mg codeine in them after being in a bicycle accident, that first few highs were great, I didn't have to do a CWE on them since 80 mg Codeine contained 2 grams of APAP and it was enough to get me high.

Then about 6 months ago I got scripted Tramadol for my chronic back pain and tried OxyContin 5 mg a few times and Morphine sulfate 30 mg once. Actually I think I've had a morphine IV drip in the hospital when I was about 10 years old so that would make Morphine my starting drug lol, I remember very little of those 3 days in the hospital =D

So it was Morphine --> Codeine --> Tramadol --> OxyContin --> Morphine

I only use Tramadol for my chronic pains now but might get OxyContin since the Tramadol doesn't work at all for pain (it's not even an opiate IMHO).

I would like to think that it was when I broke my arm at age 11, but no, I was much too young to put two and two together then. I think when I started looking in my mom's droor for weed, around age 12...that's when I discovered Lortabs.

Erowid taught me the ways of the CWE, codeine was sweet back in the day.

When I was 12 or 13 I was riding my bicycle, drunk on Jack Daniels, and crashed, breaking both my collarbones. I got a script for Tylenol #3 and loved the way they made me feel. From there, I progressed to popping a smorgasbord of the weaker pain meds. Fast forward about five years and I, through a friend, got a hookup for essentially unlimited amounts of oxycodone, fentanyl, methadone, and morphine at prices that would stun and amaze you all. Of course, anyone who knows anything about opiates knows that faced with "unlimited amounts", tolerance kicks in quickly and suddenly your bumping into some hard limits. This connection fizzled, and I found myself up the proverbial shit's creek without a paddle, so I turned to heroin. The first time I tried it was IV, and I never really looked back. Saw my life spinning out of control, did a suboxone taper, moved out of the town I was living in, stayed awhile with my parents, relapsed once and ... oh ... that was a couple days ago 8) The story goes on. And on. And on.

One 4th of July, I had no fireworks, so me and a friend made a compression bomb in a 2-liter soda bottle. After attempting to "detonate" it, and waiting, and waiting, and agitating the bottle with rocks and sticks, I assumed the cap had broken and the gas leaked out. Stupid me walked up to touch the bottle to see if it was pressurized, and I could feel it pushing back against my hand. BOOOOOOM!!! Shattered my thumb joint into MANY pieces, almost resulting in a lost thumb, but the doctors were able to piece it back together with a bunch of pins. I got #30 40mg Oxycontins as a result, and my addiction was born.

After those OCs were gone, I stayed away from OCs for a good year, but I would always remember how good they made me feel. After a year, I found a good hookup for them, and started doing them every few days, then every other day, then every day, then I switched to heroin because it was cheaper and a more pleasurable high. Snorted heroin every day for 2 months before I switched to the needle, and the rest is history.

Now I'm on suboxone for my 2nd time, and I only use heroin (IV) once a week (rarely twice a week).
