How common is it for mdma crystal to be recrystaized?

The first crystals are just how the come, I remember someone saying the second image is the result of the chemist binding the crystals togethors with salts to give the huge large rock effects as shown, it does look that way and it makes it less potent (because of binder).. make of it as you will, not sure if thats anything related to what you were asking though...

I think this might be at the heart of my question. Curious as to often it is recrystalized because some batches are signifigantly weaker than others. Regeant tests confirm that it is always pure though.
