How common is it for mdma crystal to be recrystaized?

thought you were old skool i want credentials mate you can't just say I'M ols skool you have to proove it
 
common? as you mean chunked back togethor to give huge looking rocks that somehow sells better than the smaller, purer crystals as its not been binded togethor.
 
Am sure it probably happens cos drug dealers can be scum sometimes. Doesn't seem to be very common though. Not 100% sure I'd know for sure but would be surprised if I've ever had anything like that. Don't trust emdee sold as powder on principle but can't say I've ever had xtal that was anything less than pretty damn impressive. Not bought any in quite a while now, mind (must be well over a year now - which reminds me...).

I think it's fairly common, at least in the UK IIRC. From what I have heard due to the higher demand for big crystals of MDMA when purchasing, people re-crystalise post-synth to make it appeal to the consumer more.
What I mean is I think it is done at a synthesis level rather than a dealer taking his MDMA, disolving it and evaporating exceptionally slowly.
 
Is that just recrsytalisng for aesthetic reasons or to add summat in to bulk it out, Eclipse? Have wondered in the past how they managed to get those great big spherical 1oz (or more) lumps that were all over the place a few years back. Seemed a bit too convenient and uniform shape and size to have be entirely natural. Superglue and patience was my best guess but then decided that was just silly ;)
 
Aesthetic reasons I belive, like you say it seems a bit too convenient for crystals the size of golf balls or bigger to have formed from the original synth without some attention being made for the saleable product. The fact that a lot of said big rocks of MDMA are a rather dark colour which seems to indicate the process is probably for profit rather than purity (if you're going to the trouble of re-crystalizing, surely you'd wash if first?). No-one that has extremely pure MDMA in powder/small rock form would bother making look like anything other than that unless it was for profit.

That's okay them, Eclipse. I withdraw my first comment in that case. For some reason I was associating recrytsallising with shenanigans. For aesthetic (and probably practical) reasons of just making bigger chunks it would seem to be fairly common practice (at or close to the source, as you mention, rather than low-level dealers).
 
Lets not stray into dodgy territory here :) we're not here to help dealers shift their produce..

I've wondered this in the past, though, and there is definite HR value in knowing that you can't trust chunky crystals to necessarily be more pure. As I'm sure most of us know.. :)
 
The reason I asked this simple question is that some crystals seem alot stronger than others. That being said, pure is pure. 140 mgs should feel roughly the same from batch to batch. You can test for contaminets but not for strength. Due to the way life works this is fairly new to me,and have noticed some strange strength differences over the course of the past year. Just looking for an answer.Thank`s for the help.

I`m actually from the other side of the world. You guys had raves before my section of the world did. However,we have had md in our scene for probably longer. My first time hearing about it was in 86.

It was around long before that though. I just wasn`t old enough to have heard about it.
 
I know you didn't mean it in a dicksizing sense. Am teasing brimz, not criticising you... :)
 
had my first pill when i was livin in tenerife - must have been 86/87 form an american bird i was with she said it was like mandrax lol it was another 2 years (88) till i was bang on them over here.
 
Do you mean something like this?

The first crystals are just how the come, I remember someone saying the second image is the result of the chemist binding the crystals togethors with salts to give the huge large rock effects as shown, it does look that way and it makes it less potent (because of binder).. make of it as you will, not sure if thats anything related to what you were asking though...

The second image seems to be how the majority of the MDMA comes out of Holland/Germany now, big huge slabs of it like that in the second image..They are essentially just exactly the same thing... just made large for marketing
