How can we get this place active again?

I never said I wanted to decide on my own, of course it's a team effort but for Snolly to come here and rubbish my suggestion, that I put a lot of thought n effort into was not very fair. I will refrain from giving ideas in future. I never once suggested that it was a one-person effort and I never tried "persuading" I simply posted an idea which was dismissed because what do I know about EADD? I'm relatively new. Exactly my point about new comers and welcoming them but I'm sorry I put any thought into it now.

I'm going to come back when I feel in a calmer mood. Off to help out in TDS when my input is appreciated.

Yeah, basically any idea that could improve EADD can get proposed and then bounced back and forth here. It's what it's for. It might get put into action, it might not, but no one's gonna take the piss if it gets put by the wayside.

Show me where Snolly does that and I would agree. I see no hint of Snolly rubbishing any suggestions by yourself or anybody else.

Your input is always appreciated - the only person I can see who has said anything negative about you posting thoughts and ideas here is yourself giving up on posting those things because you are seeing persecution where it does not exist. Maybe try re-reading what people have actually said once you've cooled off a bit. Nobody is saying your input is not valued or appreciated. In my view you are quite correct about being more friendly with newcomers could help - you are not the only one who thinks it can be a bit off-putting for newfolk here hence this thread. We can't make people post here but we can make those that choose to post here feel more welcome perhaps. Other people would disagree and have reasons for doing so. That doesn't mean nobody values my input. If you read what has actually been said you and I mostly agree on things here - neither of us are being ignored, sidelined or dismissed. Some people just think differently is all same as in all things.

By new content I just mean people posting interesting threads and suchlike, I'm not suggesting official bluelight sanctioned content!

There's me quote. I don't accuse anyone by name or otherwise but, if I had done, would name myself too. We've all been banging on. It's the nature of the thread. Same as gibberings. I'd be the last person to single out a poster for anything unless they had done or said something genuinely shit.

This is what I am referring to. I'm not suggesting that you were aiming it at just me. However in those 14 pages I suggested a few ideas? So we weren't banging on for 14 pages. Some of us WERE suggesting some proper ideas. I took a few hours writing that, trying to word it correct and think of those ideas - I wasn't pratting about I was genuinely trying to think of EADD. I am not saying that anyone should go with my idea, of course. That would be petulant an childish. But to just dismiss something I worked hard on as banging on isn't very nice.

I see that you suggested ideas and I recall telling you some of them were damn good. However after 14 pages of discussion, it's becoming obvious EADD is likely to just stay EADD, as much as we want to liven it up. 'Banging on' was referring to the general length of the thread and off topic posts and I apologise genuinely for offending you, but I have not specifically dismissed your ideas, which again I recall saying I appreciated, and I've commented on a few, it just seems that EADD will work best when we all do what we do best, which is bang on and make new threads, whatever they are. I don't mean to be derogatory and don't often argue my case but genuinely I am not dismissing what you've said and have actually mulled it over quite a bit. Modding EADD can be a cunt because, at least speaking for myself and (I assume) Shambles, we want this to be a better place and neither of us are cunts. Neither are Josh and Julie. We wouldn't do this if we didn't care. I just meant that it would be better to take the off topic stuff that has been in this thread and make that into new threads instead, therefore generating more content, as I believe Shambles did earlier.

Man I am like the last person to get at anyone

I would suggest it is simply a turn of phrase and clearly not aimed at anybody or even really saying anything other than we do go on a bit with very little actually happening. This is factually accurate not offensive to anybody. Tis the EADD way. Perhaps a way we could do with finding ways around but the EADD way thus far all the same. As an EADDer you are included in that cos we do like to be inclusive oddly enough. How to extend that inclusiveness to people who don't post often enough to be immediately thought of as EADDers is enough of an issue without internal schisms over commonly used phrases.

Pretty much. I really am not one to attack anyone's ideas, even if my turn of phrase isn't great from time to time. Everyone posting in here is included in EADD and everyone has their right to an opinion, which I suppose is where I should stop arguing my point.

Expanding that a bit, I know there is a section of BL for new members but maybe we should have a thread for new members to introduce themselves in EADD. The only problem I can foresee is it would disappear off the front page rather quickly & be forgotten about/wouldn't be found.
