Housework

have a housework swap! you and a friend swap housework one day - you clean their house and they clean yours. the work is much more interesting because it's not your usual location...

if you both tidy up first, it should only take an hour to clean the kitchen, bathroom and living room...

problem solved!

^^ That is possibly the most ingenius idea I've ever heard!
Because you'd want to do as good a job as possible for your friend, and vice versa. Everybody wins!

My boyfriend is one of the messiest people I have ever come across

I bet I can give him a run for his money ;)

perhaps when I am a mum and am not working at all I can clean the house to my level of satisfaction.

bahahaha. You're going to be in for a rude shock my dear! :D

Cya soon <3

So we have decided to get a cleaner once a fortnight - mopping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms and toilets and wiping benchtops, etc in the kitchen. I can't begin to tell you all how much of a relief this will be. We both work full-time and don't get home until around 7pm and quite frankly, i'm sick of spending 1/2 of my saturday or sunday cleaning the house. Having the laundry to do and general tidying is enough, as well as cook meals and prep lunches after dinner.

We try to do one or 2 loads of washing during the week, so we don't have heaps to do during the weekend. Also, i can see myself vacuuming more in between her visits - as well as spot cleaning the floors when needed, but to have someone give the house a once over every fortnight will be brilliant! Very excited. I'm not well at the moment, and so this will be even more helpful as i find it hard to do much of anything right now without falling over :(

Due to a serious operation I recently had and also, of course, the lovely christmas holiday period that followed :), I'm a bit out of routine at the moment. So is the boy. We're currently living like slobs but that will change when I start working again next week.

He took care of the cooking 3-4 nights a week, which was perfect as we like to go out for dinner together once a week and also with family once a week. It was/is easy enough to fill in the gaps with something simple the other 1-2 nights.

We shop together. We take it in turns to scrub the toilet :p. hehe... it's his turn next!

Typically, I take care of all the general cleaning - washing, ironing, scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, dishes, sorting/putting things away.

My housework would take MUCH longer each week than that of my partner. However, when our housework routine resumes, as long as those lovely cooked meals keep coming, I'm happy (he's a great cook).

We both work full time.
