Horror movies on acid...?

so im going to be trying acid in a two weeks (im hoping to post a trip report) and ive been doing some research. i couldnt find anything about whether or not watching scary movies (ie: halloween, friday the 13th, tcm) is a good idea or not. I dont really want to have a bad trip, and i know many people will just say "dont waste the trip watching movies!" and i probably wont but if i decide to while im tripping, would these kinds of movies be alright to watch? sorry for the structure of this post without many periods and such but imreally smashed right now lol thanks!
 
If you're together enough to follow a film, then I doubt it'd do much harm. But man, I can't so much as comprehend a single image on a television screen when I'm tripping. You don't know what tripping is like yet, so you're trying to come up with things that would seem interesting to do, which is cool, but you're going to find that the "interesting" thing to do just might be Lincoln Logs or crayons.

You probably won't be getting much sleep for a while. Oh, and yeah, you'll be mentally scarred for a longer while. Hell, I found America's Funniest Home Videos to be terrifying when on acid, so I don't even want to know what a horror movie would be like.
 
AFV is where it's at whilst tripping or baking. Almost died laughing from that show. But then my sense of humor can be very childish at times8)

Anyways,
I watched the new paranormal activity the day after trippin, and it was fucked.
I had issues sleeping. And I am RARELY effected by movies like that. It really depends on your personal reaction to Trippin. If you react well, go for it.
But get your feet wet a bit so you know what psychs feel like.
 
my advice- dont make up contrived scenarios that you "think" you will enjoy on acid...

music is a million times better when tripping than movies, you want to see what movies your brain can make, not watch some tripe.

father ted was the funniest thing ever coming up on mushrooms. switched it off after ten minutes tho

if youre going to watch something pick a comedy with a strong sense of the ridiculous
 
Yes absolutely, comedy is a win on psychs.
The come up from them makes you giggly as fuck anyways.
You should consider walking around your city/neighborhood while tripping. It's fun and you'll see your home in a different light. It's quite enjoyable.
 
i got persuaded into watching 'Quarantine' while tripping at a theater, didn't pay much attention to the film. but it did seem ridiculous.. spent a lot of time outside where the washrooms are. laughing away as the film ended, it was terribly loud. only time i've been to a theater tripping
 
Probably not a good idea... When you're busy tripping, the idea will probably put you off anyway! Try to go outside - it's a pretty life-changing experience!
 
My advice is to start tripping and do nothing planned for an hour or two and when you got the hang of it you can see if you like movies like that.

But remember if you feel uncomfortable looking at it don't keep watching it, turn it of and do something else, don't force yourself.

It's impossible to say how you will manage a situation on LSD.
But don't be afraid to try it, i have friends who like watching horror-movies on LSD but I personally don't see anything good coming from it.

this exactly!
your on acid!
the most interesting things are the most trivial things sober! A stipple roof. the palm of your hand. a tree moving slightly in the breeze. Thats why I love acid it makes you realize how amazing even the little things in life are
 
it depends on the person.... i took 1mg of LSD (10 tabs) the other day, solo, coz i had some introspection to do on recent events (i had my first blackout... couldn't remember 36 hours, though it might help me rmember... it didn't, i watched a few movies that night (horror, comedy, thriller....), i find anything that brings up emotions, fear, happiness etc. will be obviously extremely amplified on acid...

if you're a regular/experiences psych user, and not faint hearted then yeah, go for it...

if you're not, don't trip alone, trip with your best friends, somewhere familiar, take a low dose, put on some funky music and laugh your ass off all night

And if you really want to shit your pants, LSD or not, watch "Lost Highway" by David Lynch, it's not a gory sllasher flick, but a real psychological mindfuck... at least for me ;)

hahaha yep....but if you do feel like watching a movie while tripping, i would suggest something like The Dark Crystal, Neverending Story, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, or something like that. but with the sound off and listening to some good tunes - they almost always seem to synch up - no matter what the music/movie combo...
 
I think in general TV is fairly pointless of psychedelics unless on low doses. This thread made me remember a time I was tripping on mushrooms and was watching a german movie on the comeup called white noise. I didn't know it at the time but it is about some guy who does mushrooms goes schizophrenic and then bad stuff happens. Strangely it didn't have that much effect on the trip and i ended up going out and having a really good night.
