OMFG so I read about the principles of homeopathy and they've got to be the most ridiculous ideas ever to pose as science.
I bought a couple different homeopathic "sleep aides" a while back, and after no success with the normal dosage (or twice the normal dosage) I filed them away under "b" for "bullshit."
Then, after much research into why they don't work I find out that 1X is a one times DILUTION, not extraction as I would have liked to believe.
Meaning it was 1 part active ingredient to 9 parts water. After shaking vigorously they discard 9/10 of the mixture.
For a 2X dilution they do the same thing with the remaining 1/10 of the mixture...
30X... you see where this is going.
I'm not sure how you get a liquid dilution into a pill form, but it probably means it's less likely to work... Idk.
After finding this out, and being quite tired of these placebos taking up space in the cabinet, I decided to down the whole damn bottle. I imagine it was about 42 tablets, since I had tried 6(?) when I had first gotten them.
They tasted slightly sweet, since they're sugar pills. When I poured water into my mouth they fizzed. Interesting...
So, there's probably no chance that I'll get any effect from this is there?
The lowest dilution is Quinine 3X, so I'm hoping 30 of them would be a somewhat noticeable dose of it...
Should I go down the second bottle of slightly different homeopathics I have left?
The lowest dilution in that one is Passiflora (passion flower) 1X, meaning (hopefully) 10 of them would provide some effect from passion flower. I figure 42 HAS to do SOMETHING?! RIGHT?!
This is just speculation since we've established homeopathy's a bunch of bullshit anyway...
