Last week, while visiting Mexico, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was interviewed by Denise Maerker of Televisa, who asked her opinion of proposals to address black-market violence by repealing drug prohibition. Clinton's response illustrates not only the intellectual bankruptcy of the prohibitionist position but the economic ignorance of a woman who would be president.

fucking laughable.

"yeah, just way too much money to be made. that would take us out of debt, and we simply can not have that. what kind of country would we be if we werent in debt by the trillions?"

dumb cunt

What does she even mean by that? There's too much money in what?

Yeah no shit it doesn't make any sense at all. Is she implying there's too much money in fighting it? Which wouldn't really make sense because not fighting it would cost less. So she must mean there's too much money in it to be made by fining drug offenders? Which doesn't really make much sense either because of the legal processes and housing all the inmates...

Someone please explain it to me because I honestly don't get it. Decipher what this women is saying please!

Maerker: In Mexico, there are those who propose not keeping going with this battle and legalize drug trafficking and consumption. What is your opinion?

Clinton: I don't think that will work. I mean, I hear the same debate. I hear it in my country. It is not likely to work. There is just too much money in it, and I don't think that—you can legalize small amounts for possession, but those who are making so much money selling, they have to be stopped.

That sentence doesn't make any sense to me, but i'm guessing she means that legalising it would give drug dealers looking for money free reign to push their drugs onto innocent americans or something .. It's a confusing sentence.

There is too much money going to government agents, cops, lawyers, prison guards,DEA fucks,etc.. she really means the government has created such a vast bueracracy of people that rely on drugs being illegal for their jobs/salarys, like her and other politicans,etc.. to legalisze drugs, then the DEA fucks, a bunch of cops, judges, Customs agents, jail builders, and lawyers would be out of work!!! The dirty fuckers, they do not care about the people, they want to get paid! And 30,000 have died in Mexico so far, sadly not just 20,000..and thats what we know about...Fucking US government and the CIA are the biggest drug dealers in the world, followed by their contributors Big Pharmaceuticals...

qft. it's about money and power... the people in power have it all set up to be most profittable to them. Unfortunately this directly conflicts the interests of the average taxpayer...

The people in power, are all scumbags who fuck over everybody else to make themselves rich. Yeah they waste taxpayer money fighting the war on drugs, but when their political sponsors are Mexican cartels, pharmaceutical, alcohol, tobacco, and prison industry, they don't really give a shit :!

SECRETARY CLINTON: I don't think that will work. I mean, I hear the same debate. I hear it in my country. It is not likely to work. There is just too much money in it, and I don't think that – you can legalize small amounts for possession, but those who are making so much money selling, they have to be stopped. They can’t be given an even easier road to take, because they will then find it in their interest to addict even more young people. Mexico didn’t have much of a drug problem before the last 10 years (, and you want to keep it that way. So you don’t want to give any excuse to the drug traffickers to be able legally to addict young people.

Jesus .. :\

Secretary Clinton said:

LOL, what political bullshit. Everybody knows she cannot be Secretary of State of the USA, and at the same time be so incredibly stupid that she doesn't realize that cartels run on black market, which means if they were made legal, they would be produced by legitimate companies, not 'traffickers'.

LOLWTF seriously? Traffickers legally addicting people? There wouldn't be traffickers if it was LEGAL. Illegal is to 'trafficker', as legal is to 'producer'.

She can't really be that dumb. This is more fingerpointing excuses not to legalize, and to hide their alterior motives, despite the growing wave of recent awakening to the issue of legalization.

Even classic American libertarian republicans, like Ron Paul, publicly support legalization/regulation, because it makes the most fiscal sense, when you look at all the trillions being wasted on task forces, DEA, prosecutions, incarcerations ALL OVER VICTIMLESS CRIME!? GET REAL!! Any TRUE conservative politician recognizes how much money is being wasted over futility.

This sounds like a conspiracy to the laymen, because it is so fucking ridiculous to them that this level of trust and personal ignorance could have been and still is going on.

Eventually people who lack enough empathy to even look in the face of stigma or "scorn" to see how much bullshit is going on will conform to a more balanced point of view about psychoactives as a whole with time when the status quo moves along if it does. Until then there are some people with (relatively small amounts to the economy, current black market excluded) jobs or piles of delusion to defend to their death!

These same sort of people will just be shocked of all the wrongs when addressed due to previous hypocrisy, just like they were shocked that niggers actually did have souls once the reign of convenience was no longer in their hands. (Different business scenario based upon racial judgment which is fucked up as hell, but I hope ya get the point.)

So americans spend billions annually on drugs, correct? This money goes straight out of the country, straight out of GDP, and into the hands of drug dealing thugs abroad.

Couldn't this money be fed back into the US economy, by legalizing, and producing legally here in the US?

This is not even including the DEA budget, money allocated to state and local jurisdictions specifically for drug task forces, prosecutions & incarcerations at both the federal & state level. ridiculous..

I have no idea what you just said.

The simple fact is the War on Drugs is merely a symptom of a much larger nanny welfare state. Most Americans have already conceded their individual rights for looted money in the form of social security, welfare, disability, looted medical care in the form of medicare and obamacare, etc ad nauseum. Govt knows best and will provide everything for you as long as you void your brain and go along with the program. We are headed for a dystopian hell on earth unless we get to the root of the problem, and the root is Big Govt.

i only hope her ratings drop in a jaw-dropping manner after that statement... so that washington is forced to listen to reason...

The thing is I feel like she's shielding us from knowing who's really profitting most from the 'war on drugs' :\. She can't really be so retarded she thinks cartels would still be in biz if drugs were legal...

since her voters are this retarded, her ratings might actually go up :(

speaking as a progressive, so often i'm on her side...

I think she means legaliseing/decriminliseing small amounts. She fears more people will start useing so the drug dealers will earn more cash.
