I am about to try jumping off from hydrocodone (Norco). I don't take a lot of this, but I am so addicted that it has ruined my life. I am afraid folks will think I am lame, because my dose is so low, and I have been watching other people try to withdraw from so much that I am in awe of their courage. But I am afraid, and hoping to get support here.

Also, I realize that I am not much acquainted with the drug culture. I take this for pain, not recreation, and I have never experienced a high from it. NEVER.

But I do have that paradoxical effect of gaining energy from it as opposed to a sedative effect. I have chronic fatigue and this was a godsend at first. I got up to 30 mg/day before the doctor cut me off. I know, it's nothing.

I just want to know if I can expect to get free of it within a few days, if I just quit cold turkey, or if it will keep me down longer.

I have only taken a week off from work, I am hoping it will be enough.

If anyone will take me seriously, it would such a blessing.

You can do it man! Im new to BL as well, and also a recovering opiate addict, and you will always have my support. It doesn't make what you take or how much, if ne1 thinks you are lame because you want to be free of opiate dependence, needs to take a good look at themselves.

Thank you both for sending some support! I would love to hear about anyone's recovery experience. It kills me just to think of myself as an addict.

Welcome to Bluelight.

Please come along to the Recovery Forums, where we can try and offer you some support. There are three of these; The Dark Side (TDS), Sober Living (SL) and Mental Health. I would suggest you read some of the threads there to see some of the responses and how other members have tackled their addictions. Then maybe create your own thread where you'll receive some support. There are other good thread there which helps members like 'The Vent thread, Say something positive about your day, what I am thankful for,' those type of threads and a lot of members benefit from them.

There are other sub-forums here that focus on specific drugs, location of where your from for instance European and African Drug Discussion, South n North America etc.

All the best,
Evey :)

I have take so much hydrocodone in the past but have never gotten anything more than an upset stomach. I dunno why this is either. I actually just recently kicked an addiction to oxycodone. I was only able to do this by replacing it with Adderall, which I regret because I never sleep or eat now. Do not replace one drug with another I thought that I could just use adderall to mask the oxy withdraw only to find out that adderall is way more addicting and harder to deal with.

I wish you luck with your addiction

Welcome to BL. Hop on over to Other Drugs and make a post in our Opiate Withdrawal Megathread, or one of the other many withdrawal threads we have, and we'll help you out.

Oh yes of course I forgot to mention Other Drugs n that you have an Opiate Withdrawal megathread.
Ish also try this thread suggest by Mr.Scag because you'll get advice from lot of different people then and can take what you want n leave the rest as they say.

Personally if you still have, just slow down. But even cold turkey from just narco is not that bad! Now I'm speaking from cold turkey from much much more! Got to the store get diarrhea Meds, some wet wipes, crackers, Gatorade, and my best luck you will not be hungry but in a few days start making your self eat! Also play your favorite music it gives me tingles and feeling anything else is a plus!! Several days max? My two cents!
Now 5 80 O's a day different story!
