heroin withdrawals are on par with xanax withdrawals

Until I tried heroin and got hooked (so far for a few months), I was convinced that nothing would tear me down harder than xanax withdrawals did. maybe i spoke too soon.

From what I've read, opiate withdrawal will make you wish you were dead, but if you're severely addicted to benzos (or other strong GABA agonists) and suddenly cold turkey you will wind up dead. I may be mistaken, but I don't think that opioid withdrawal syndrome includes grand mal seizures.

But that's irrelevant. What's important is that you're getting clean, yes? Are you tapering or turkeying it? Doing maintenance for a bit maybe?

(if this is prodding too much, just tell me to mind my own business ;)

Naw, man. I wouldn't post my life up here if there was some magic line people would be crossing if they asked too much. I'm not cold turkeying, I'm just in the throes of not having enough money to buy the drugs I want, and then realizing that it is not sustainable and trying my best to quit. I went and procured some benzos to ease the withdrawal and they put me in a wonderful sleep, so this fight is far from over.

No, but the battles are being won with enough frequency to give you the motivation to move forward from the sounds of it. Which makes me glad to read, let me tell you.

:)
