st day sober - runny nose, eyes pissing out tears, severe depression.
nd day - All of the above plus extreme fluctuations in temperature, cold sweats, unbearably uncomfortable skin (like your wearing a wool jacket that won't come off), shitting your brains out, pissing every few minutes, dilated pupils, extreme restlessness, complete insomnia, pain in bones and muscles, no energy or motivation to do anything, an underlying sense of panic. Only "good" symptoms of withdrawal, so to speak, is the ability to masturbate seven times in a row and an increased appreciation for music.
rd day - same as above. Slightly more intense. Some nausea. I, personally, never vomit from heroin WD.
th day - reduction of above symptoms
th day - reduction of above symptoms
th day - most of the symptoms have resolved. Beggining stages of PAWS. Insomnia, depression, lack of motivation and energy remain.
This was what happened to me after a five month chasing habit as a teenager without the help of any meds AT ALL. I stayed sober for forty days and frankly, I didn't feel any less depressed than I had during the WD's. Had thoughts of selling my teenage ass on the street for some drugs, I was that desperate (as my parents had taken all my money from me). But I also didn't do any of the things that everyone says help like excercise, go to NA meetings, make an effort to think positively - none of 'em.
