Heroin success stories ... (title is an oxymoron -jc)

I've done it once, snorted it. I loved it, but decided not to touch it too soon afterwards to decide if it's worth it to try it again. I still haven't decided if I should ever do it again, I wonder if I could use it just once in a while, but I'm sure everyone starts out that way.

Haha, ironically, I pretty much dislike all psychedelic druugs.
i haven't tried acid yet, but my experiences with other psychedelics have never been that great..

Sorry for the probably childish and naive way i was looking at heroin. But i seriously have taken on board all of what you guys have said.

I am probably fortunate that at a time when i was contemplating such a thing as heroin use i had a forum like bluelight to get some answers from.

Had i been in the same position 10 years ago, sans internet i would have no doubt gone and picked up the needle because the only information on the end result i had would have been speculative on my part.

I know i sound stupid and a wishful thinker, but my thoughts were only randopm things i ponder when bored and wanted to ask some peeps.

As long as you give the respect that heroin deserves... you might be fine..
I attribute my addiction to heroin in part because i basically stoped caring, i was just like fuck it, i'll deal with the w/ds when and if they come.

hey guys, it is definitely possible to live a fully functional life while on heroin...look in europe, there a few hundred people that are on heroin maintenance...they go to a clinic and shoot their pharma heroin and their lives are functional again as compared to when they were shooting street heroin...it seems strange but its thr truth...now, its a completely different story nwhen it comes to buying street dope and trying to maintain a functional life..you have to factor in meeting up with dealers, spending large sums of money etc etc..

as for those mythical people i have always heard about that only shoot heroin on the weekend and have done so for years, i have my doubts..i personally dont know anyone that has been able to do it...

But what if you were able to have more. If you were able to say OK i am going to live the rest of my life on opiates? That addiction wasn't a problem that had to be fixed, but just like having to eat everyday or we die? Liek having to take insulin

are you asking if it's okay to get yourself addicted to heroin? seriously i'm sorry but i really don't see much of a point to this. there are no heroin success stories, it will fucking ruin you. it may take a month, a few months, a few years, or ten years nobody can tell you how long it will take you to destroy everything and everyone around you but you will. i apologize if this post seems condescending but in a nutshell, iv dope will ruin you, period.

and to the people you're talking about on the pharma maintenance in europe, how do you think they got in that program? because heroin fucked them up, badly, otherwise they wouldn't have gotten into the program in the first place. i dont know anyone who only shoots heroin on the weekends. some people may pretend they're not as addicted as they are, but they'll get there. can you be functional and an addict? yes, but not forever eventually it will consume you.

In Switzerland they ran a prescription heroin trial with a group of 700 or so heavy users. These people were initially stealing, selling themselves and whatever to get their drugs. After getting on the prescription heroin trial, they ended up getting bored... so at least a few of them went and got JOBS! They had their fix given to them everyday... and rather than doing nothing some of them went and got jobs.

I don't know man. I guess the idea of pharm heroin makes sense in theory. But if it was me on that trial, I would have probably gotten greedy and copped street product too. Because I'm thinking, this is the shit! It's twice as cheap to get really high, because the doctors help me get a head start every single day!

And jobs? Why would anyone hire someone who's on dope every single day? Yeah go hand those monthly reports to Johnson in accouting.... he's the guy who's always bent over tryin to suck his own dick.

In this case, I think that you can kill a man with kindness. There is such thing as too much compassion, in my opinion. Besides, we need to get weed decriminalized/legalized before we start thinking about this shit. Ya'll are getting ahead of yourselves

As far as Harum's "success story", I think he basically summed it all up when he said, "All my friends have mates, i have heroin and I'm happy with it." If that's enough for you, then I guess you're set. If people and relationships are something you want, then the h bomb might not be such a success story.

Wrong again. Depends on filtering, cooking, and clean works. Sweeping statements like this are absurd.

Actually, right again. None of that is 100% effective in removing particulate matter. Clean works doesnt have anything to do with it all, either. IMing street heroin is dangerous, unless youre double filtering with micron filters, but realistically, how many heroin addicts do that?

In fact, cooking street heroin actually increases the chance for infection. Heating it helps cuts dissolve into solution, so when you inject it into your muscle, those cuts are going with it and getting stuck under your skin.

Its safe to say: DO NOT IM street heroin. It can easily cause an abscess, gangrene, or the need for amputation of limbs.

Even if you were fully correct, this is a HARM REDUCTION forum. Its irresponsible to condone the IMing of street drugs, including heroin. You even suggesting that its OK is ridiculous in the light of things.

first off this title is priceless

Second- before the csa and the shit before that that made heroin, coke, etc illegal, most addicts were unrecognizable. I mean that they didnt look like some of the junkies today that look like theyve seen better days. While i know i would have a hard time being productive, if i lived during that time when h was cheap and available i would probably be like most addicts back then. Even tho most h addicts then were housewifes they were productive amd shit, so clearly its possible but depends on alot of shit, i think. My .02$
