preseny your self to the council as a homeless person - they have a duty of care to find you somewhere, prob a hostel
yeah-I'm sure your keyworker can liaise with the council regarding accommodation but it is the council that will provide somewhere
that is unless you are looking for residential rehab which as I said, you would be a low priority and have a long wait for that
There are halfway houses that people coming out of jail and maybe someone like yourself could stay in
but they will almost certainly send you to a hostel at least for a few days
These vary-some are nice-some not so nice, but you shouldn't have to stay there long
once you are in a hostel, you have some priority for rehousing and they will help you with the whole process
they are the experts when it comes to this kind of thing and can lay out to you,all the options available to you
HOWEVER,as I found out recently,if you have certain charges on your record, the council will not help you(and this applies to housing associations too)-but they can still steer you through the privately rented market.
Good luck with all this
It's horrible to be in an area where you know nobody-although maybe that is a good thing in terms of your drug use-although such hostels are somewhere you can easily make new drug connections so probably best you don't stay too long
I admire your commitment to getting clean. But just out of interest, are you doing it cos you want to,or because you know you need to?
