Heroin Heroin detox planned, some strategy questions.

@ blight12: i've heard alot about Iboga too, psychedelics can be interesting, but i'm on amitriptyline right now, so that's not an option now.

It's now 15 days since I last used heroin. I gained some kilo's in weight, eat alot and visit the gym 3 times a week.
But i smoke a lot of weed (it's the same amount as before i started with heroin - all day long). When I have school or work i don't smoke before.

I think it's because i don't smoke weed pure anymore like i used to, i just like it with tobacco now more.
Smoking with tobacco gives a more instant and powerfull effects, but it lasts less long than when you smoke weed pure without tobacco.

I'm liking coffee more then I used too, maybe it's because of the sedating effects of the amitriptyline?

I'm seeing my shrink on wednesday, get a refill for the amitriptyline and maybe up the dose, or take an extra small dose in the morning, because the retard capsule i take in the evening, doesn't work as long until i take my next dose (24 hours later).

I also have hey fever, what's significantly suppressed due to the anti histamine effects of amitriptyline, when I up the dose just a little more, maybe i don't have to take any medication for hey fever anymore.

I am just getting to the point of detox. My boyfriend and I are used to doing 1-3 points of H in a day, today we have only done one and a half, we are doing a little less than a half point of it tomorrow, and taking a percocet at night, and then we are going to go cold turkey with some loperamide. we have been using for about 3 months consistantly. I am actually quite scared to go through the withdrawals, as I never have before and have never really suffered much of any addiction. I used to drink and use coke alot but never had any significant addiction or withdrawals from it, even after repeated use. Ive only begun to feel the effects of the h withdrawal, but ended up doing more to get rid of it. Ive experienced fevers, chills, cold sweats, and the restless leg syndrome, but only the first nights worth. I want to know really how unbearable you think it will be for me, given the length of consistant use, and how much i was using, and if the way I am doing it will work to minimize the symptoms, or if I'm just making it worse?

We're all different. Imo and experience even if benzos DO help alot when they kick in, they aggravate the restlessness and discomfort between doses, and just a week or two of heavy daily use is enough to acquire a weak physical dependence. Especially if you mess with midazolam and alprazolam 8( Yes, I despise benzos for personal and objective reasons...

For me, the most effective drug to alleviate opiate wd symptoms is kratom hands down... IF you're planning to resume your H habit later or completely substitute kratom for H. If you want to completely detox, of course, kratom ain't no solution unless you also want to use it for tapering instead of H, bupe or aldolphine. (My case: I substituted kratom for oxy then slowly detoxed from kratom... then I resumed my kratom intake a couple months later lol. I've been using kratom every other day (sometimes 3-5 days) ever since (2007) and I managed to avoid physical addiction. If I can do it, I guess others can do it to: total abstinence ain't the solution for all...)

Did you try pregabalin? I find it much more effective at eliminating wd pain than benzos. And clonidine? And immodium? With enough of these three, used wisely, I wouldn't be intimidated by any opiate wd.

I strongly suggest you try 100-150 mg of pregabalin (if you don't have tolerance) every 6-8 h if you can score some.

Here is the method I used. I would be glad if it could help somebody here... The last time I detoxed was from 140 mg of oxy/day. I switched to kratom for a while, which COMPLETELY eliminated my symptoms at the right dose, then I gradually decreased my dose once a week, on Mondays. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I used pregabalin, clonidine and loperamide, which took care of ALL painful symptoms. (Pregabalin 150 mg, clonidine 0.2 mg and loperamide 30 mg every 6 to 8 h, half of these doses on Wed and nothing from Thur to the next Mon). Sure, it took three months and a half, but the process was almost totally painless.

If you have time, patience and discipline, as well as an access to kratom, clonidine and pregabalin, I recommend strongly this method. Benzos are not as effective as pregabalin to kill the pain and anguish. Moreover, the sleep they provide is not as good as the sleep induced by pregabalin, cos it destroys sleep architecture whereas pregabalin doesn't. Lyrica ain't a miracle drug: daily use can cause an addiction almost as nasty as a benzo addiction, and the wd is apparently nightmarish... But in the short term, and especially for opiate withdrawal, it is MUCH better than benzos in my experience.

Good luck and take care!

Well so far ive tapered off down with 5 mg percocets. im gunna completely kick the opiates tho, aside from some loperamide. I have access to ghb and im using that for the restlessness, anxiety and depression factors. Personally, I dont really care about the fever, cold sweats, or any pain. I can handle that fine. Its really only the restlessness that bugs me so its only really that I have to take care of. I find that GHB takes care of almost everything for me though. The restlessness, and anxiety and sadness ... and even the pain. And when I take GHB I literally have no cravings. I feel like I dont want any drugs at all while on it. Not to mention that the sleep I get from G is remarkable. Despite the fact you wake up after 4 hours like clockwork and have to re-up, but that's something I can deal with compared to opiate withdrawal.

depending on your habit why didn't you just get some norco's and taper... that works #1 for me at least... mayb some diazepam, and xanax along with a multivitamin... kicking cold can be pretty difficult.... for the strongest willed person & especially if missing school/ work is not an option.

im definitely not kicking cold. Im kicking with ghb, loperamide and clonazepam (klonopin). at the current time im not working or attending school so that part is out of the way. when this is over I aim to get back into work.
