Heroin Heroin detox planned, some strategy questions.

@ JD55 & nitrat: you're absolutely right... at the time it sounded as such an good idea.
I do take tramadol, because i can't be sick at school/work, and almost a full week off is coming, so then i can go cold turkey, also at days off.

I called but my dealer didn't pick up before it went to voicemail, i got distracted by an other phonecall and afterwards i decided to don't call again.

I'm now clean since Sunday 31th, right before midnight its now the 2nd, almost 2 full days of heroin, i took tramadol twice today, 150 mg in the morning +- 6:30 and 100 mg around 13:30.

I'm taking my Subutex as described and smoke weed on days off and on work/school days in the evening.
I think it's helping against craving, right now i don't feel like i'm w/d'ing and i'm not craving. The biggest cravings came when i didn't had any H left, and realised that my last balloon was allready gone, i was thinking all day long that i had a spare balloon left, so it sucked when that bubble bursts.

I don't have much motivation to do things. And I think that i will get sick once i don't take tramadol anymmore, but i rather have it this way to become very sick at work, done that once before, and i'm not going to do that ever again.
Tomorrow is another working day, going to bring the tramadol down to 100 mg in the morning and don't take any more.
Thursday is my day off, so i'm not gonna take anything.
I have to wait until Friday what i'm gonna do then, if i think ill manage a whole day school without tramadol without becoming to sick, i'm not going to take any.
In the weekend it's the same up until wednesday, when that day comes i'll wont be sick anymore... then i just have to remember to not take opioids again for recreation.

Oh and btw, my pupils are dilated like i'm on amphetamines, normally tramadol contracts my pupils, maybe the amitriptyline (sarotex)? Or not taking H?

it sounds like you have just enough drugs to make the detox bearable. good luck. try using the poppy seeds when you feel you need it the most.

ninja edit: your taking subutex? if your taking subutex I dont see the point of this thread, or why your taking tramadol. maybe I missed something, but it sounds like all that other shit is pointless if your on subutex. dont bother trying to taper from tramadol, just dont take it because the subutex is blocking its effects. I mean really dude?

Kratom. It's my go to when detoxing and does wonders for me. Best of luck, I know how much of a struggle this is.

Has anybody experience with ibuprofen for restless legs? Seems to work on that, expecially in combination with benzodiazepines?

My clients have benefited with restless legs by using Clonidine 0.1 mg (high risk of hypotension if misused ... One or two a day), gravol, Imodium, ibuprophen, and diazepam 5 mg ... We call it the Opiate Withdrawal Protocol ... Calms you right down instead of pacing, hot/colds and rolling around in bed all night ... Cheers

Almost 4 full days since my last heroin use, and 26 hours since my last tramadol dose. Today is my day off.
I'm still waiting for my poppy seeds to arrive, almost a week since i ordered it, won't be needing that too much i think.
My motivation is still below zero and i'm having more cold sweats, especially when i wake up, my bed and I are soaked.

The Sarotex with weed really helps to let me fall asleep, when i'm going to my bedroom I feel a little sceptical about if i'm able to sleep, but that feeling is going away pretty soon.
Also deals with craving to strong opioïds, it's like my craving is sedated from the amitriptyline (sarotex).

Haven't touched any of my other medication yet (benzodiazepines, loperamide etc.)

I'm going to the gym in the evening, hopefully that'll activate me more, because i really need to finish alot of schoolwork in just a couple of months before the summer break, or i will be doing this year all over again, next year.

I'm wondering what will help me to get more motivated, up or down the dosage of the sarotex? Keep it as is and wait longer?
Drinking coffee isn't the answer, it isn't overstimulating my central nervous system as normal, but still makes me feel weird.

@ boltfan909 & jaypellegrino: I've tried Kratom before, the effects were very mild and didn't last for long, tried the extract, some different species.

Would Naproxen will do fine too in stead of Ibuprofen? I know ibuprofen is cheap, but i have Naproxen allready at home.

From what I can tell, they act the same except Naproxen will have a longer effect (which in turn may take longer to start working ... we are unclear on that). We discussed it here at work, and reviewed some online medical journals ... they do have differences but those are related to long-term use (i.e. GI issues, etc.). Hope you are doing well ... cheers!

Yesterday i tried 1 g of paracetamol first, that helped for a couple of hours against the cold sweats.
I also tried poppy sead tea. Added lemon juice to 850 ml's of hot water (not boiling) and let it soak for 30 minutes and shaked the stuff 3 times.
I added about 400 g of poppy seeds, and drank the half of it. I kept the rest in a container to try today.

Didn't gave me a buzz, did normalize my pupils a little, and didn't gave me any side effects, but also no anti-withdrawl effects.
Maybe i bought seeds with low potency.

I couldn't sleep quick that night, felt very tired, cold and restless, after 1 took 1 mg of lorazepam i could sleep pretty quick (i like to dissolve it under my tounge for quick effects).
I think the remedy against restless legs is in the loperamide, maybe clonidine and diazepam, not the nsaid (although i took Naproxen 250 mg, in stead of Ibuprofen).
The next morning i woke up pretty hung over, almost ignored my alarm too long, but i realized just in time i really had to go to school. Got there just in time.

I didn't took anything today before or at school, only smoked some weed and hash after.

It's weekend now, feel tired and a little sick, running nose, cold etc. But this is nothing like the second time i quitted heroin (smoke/iv use) cold turkey.

This time i IV'ed heroin too, but quitted IV'ing for 2 weeks before quitting (switched to smoking H).

I can really advise lowering dose, quitting IV and/or use a weaker opioid (agonist) instead of H before quitting completely.
It's not just making it a little easier, but WAY easier.

Thanks for the input you folks already gave me, helps alot!

Good luck man. My GF is on day 11 of Detox from Heroin IV. She's used once three days ago (but missed the vein) and was puking and shitting herself yesterday, so your choice to avoid just getting a 20 was good lol.

Partying is supposed to be fun, not slavery. (not judging anyone who is using.)

Wish her good luck for me, i hope she's able to quit it completely, and start living again. :)

It is! (for now...)

Deleted my contacts from my phone too, not that it's very hard to find them again... but still... makes it more difficult.

Good on you man! Glad to hear it is working out so far.

Surprisingly, or maybe not due to the dopamine action, I found that amphetamines worked wonders for the restless legs. I kicked one time in jail and I was prescribed Vyvanse (which is basically dextroamphetamine) at the time, so that was the only drug I had as my mom brought it to the jail.

I was sick as a dog, but my legs were fine once the vyvanse kicked in! Also helped a ton with my spirits and helped keep me a little out of that mental depression/hopelessness. It lasts for about 12 hours, so half the day my legs were cool. Then when they wore off the kicking started....

Do you have a plan for after you detox? Heroin sometimes fills a hole that can feel very evident when you get clean. That hole can continue to cause cravings and result in relapse unless it is filled by healthy things. Just saying.

Using amphetamines can open a can of worms ... Redrawl, you ever have issues with uppers? IV use usually affects your withdrawal after several weeks of use ... Just my observations. It shouldn't be like deathly dope sick withdrawal ... But not a place I'd like to be in ... Cheers !!!

@ oxyaddict05 & On the Pulse:

I'm prescribes stimulants for almost 10 years, ritalin, concerta, dextroamphetamine, wellbutrin, etc.
They worked amazing when i just started, in the end it gave me alot of side effects and when i stopped completely it feels like my CNS is chronically over-stimulated, i regularly feel like i have too much adrenaline, in alot of situations i quickly feel the fight or flight feeling. Opiates took that completely away.

I'm taking an antidepressant now for a week, amitriptyline and it really helps against my craving, i'm planning to take the antidepressant at least until summer break in +- Juli.

Before all the opiates i was used to exercise a lot, i want to do that again, but i'm not as motivated anymore as i was before... going to work on that to come back. Not sure how to do that yet, probably i just have to go to the gym, and stop making up reasons to not go.

Even make an excuse to go for a walk ... try new things ... keep it fresh. Balance is key, have a laugh with freinds or family. Eat well and sleep. Pray or meditate. Good luck. Hope you are doing well!

Sorry if this was mentioned already but Iboga has shown interesting benefits in treating withdrawals as well as treating the addiction itself. It requires some proper research though. Just an idea.
