Ok so I was on methadone for a year and noticed these so called "blocking effects" of methadone. When I took 80mg oxycontin, absolutely nothing would happen, when I would take a relatively large IV dose of heroin, I would feel a rush, but afterwards there was no lingering high whatsoever. I am sure this is because of the methadone...I stopped taking the 80mg methadone I had been on for a year cold turkey, and it still took ~4 days before I could start to feel other opiates again.
Now my question is, I had been off methadone for 2 months (though using other opiates during this time) but have restarted, taking 50mg for the past 4 days...I have some heroin im planning on IVing, but I don't want to waste it...Do methadone's blocking effects present themselves after a single dose of methadone, or do you have to be on daily methadone for a while before the blocking effects become noticeable? how long do you have to be on daily methadone? How long should I wait after my last methadone dose before getting favorable results from my heroin dose?
Thanks to anyone who can answer this!
