Heroin addicts who use the needle: Does anyone ACTUALLY "skin pop" their dope?

even if you're 70-75 and in good health. knowing what you know now, with some good planning and common sense, you could make the last few years of your life more 'enjoyable'.

wanting to enjoy opiates and their cousins with minimal harm to ones body is the reason I signed up with BL%) %)

Allow me.....
With Heroin, tolerance builds rather quickly. It wil take more and more H to achieve the desired "rush". as your body develops a tolerance, there will be changes in the brain and the user becomes addicted. And Yes, a hardcore heroin addict eventually no longer gets high. just "well".
withdrawls are flu like symptoms for the most part as well as an intense craving for the drug. Note that the addict can indeed use enough to get high but runs the risk of an overdose.
It is also worth noting that addicts will want to "kick" and not use for a while (2 weeks maybe?), during this time his/her tolerance will lower...and when they fall off the wagon and relapse, the dose that they were able to tolerate is now possibly a lethal dose causing the user to overdose.

My rule of thumb is to NEVER use any opiate recreational for more than 3 consecutive days lest the demon get its claws into my soul.:\

^ Of course its way worse, but its a good way decent way to explain it to those who have never experienced it. I usually say something along the lines of "its like having the worst flu ever and getting hit by a truck."

^ That's just the physical stuff though. What about the mental and emotional side? The physical part isn't so bad (apart from the evil kicky legs) but it's the mental and emotional stuff that is like nothing you could ever explain... Or at least I can't.

PS - Voting Conservative at any age makes you a moron at whatever age ;).

Injecting between the muscle and the skin - just below the surface of the skin. Very risky practise unless using pharm-sealed vials and even then a pretty bad idea. Injecting into a mucle is IM (intramuscular).

i have skin popped twice (by accident both times... i was trying to mainline but was using short tip rigs which i wasn't used to and missed and ended up getting a decent buzz off the H...but totally missed the veins...sucks...)

I wont take anything personal...I welcome corrections and clarifications.
I am just one of the lucky ones that does not experience physical withdrawl.
I have seen hardcore addicts when "dope sick" and it was nothing nice.
HOWEVER, I do take 150 mg of effexor (venlafaxine) daily for PTSD and I make damn sure I dont run out because it is very unplesant indeed. A lifetime of using drugs and my antidepressants cause withdrawl...go figure eh?8(
