Here is why I DIS-respect Deadmau5

I understand that there are other genres of house but house purists like to only consider classic house as real house music. all other styles like progressive, electro and hard house are basically another genre.

Have you ever listened to hardcore/hardstyle not drug fucked?


Deadmau5 produces electro house, how can you possibly pigeonhole a DJ to a specific genre? Stupid. He even has produced a bit of dubstep.

He basically produces whatever is currently 'trendy'. I think that undermines his artistic integrity.
 
He may produce various genres, and that's fine, but he does not produce any form of electro. Electro house =/= electro, and those of us who have been fans for a long time, are a little annoyed with people trying to pass this crap off as electro. It's a completely different genre, and among the least commercial genres of electronic.
 
I noticed the big drop in quality of his music happened at the exact same time as his massive rise in Popularity. Dumbed down for the wider commerical market i would say.

I really enjoy most of his music. I have seen him twice, he was amazing at Coachella last year!! EDC was all right..
I wish he went more in the direction towards stuff he was producing like faxing berlin, jaded, not exactly, so there I was, etc. He has some fun tracks in his latest album, some on there not so much..
 
first post to bluelight..... and a damn good one. in my opinion i LOVE the mau5 not just because of his music but what he entails to be an electronic artist today. if you havent seen his studio setup i encourage you to youtube it. The guy is a tech nut. his patches and synth hardware is amazing. there are no cds up in that bihtch. i dont have to validate his music, but for what he is doing for the electronic world today is great. :D
 
Deadmau5 is so mainstream, that my company is making Deadmau5 lollipops. No joke. I saw the sample and almost died. Also, I saw him in october and wanted to leave early. There was no energy, nothing. I barely danced and I dance alone in my kitchen. :)
 
Two reason's why he irritates me. First, because I heard him on the Joe Rogan podcast and he was just really annoying and wouldn't shut up. Secondly, because he was in a club in London once and told this producer from london (Rusko) to stop smoking weed in there... like fair enough but shut up. Seems like a douche to me. Plus his music sucks.
 
He just reminds me of this new craze of shitty dubstep music and shitty electronic music with no skill involved. Seriously, these songs I am hearing when I turn on the radio in the car or some shit have no melody and just some obviously halfcast indian rapper guy and some slutty girl making noise over simple as fuck dream beats etc. Seriously, it depresses me to the point of suicide that music is headed this way. I mean in 2020 theres going to be some bullshit music if it keeps going like this.

Also all of deadmau5's music sounds the same and shit, it doesnt even sound pleasent on your ears lol
 
love him or hate him , he is living out his dream. cant fault a guy for doing that. He must be doing something right if he has lots of people who love his art. everyone can have a opinion but if its so easy and sounds the same, then why are there not moar deadmau5 's out there..talk is cheap, actions speak..if it is that easy ,then do it yourself and lets see if you get just as big...
