Yeah I do love having a lil stash of pollen for when I get home for a rave. Gotta be careful how much ya load in the pipe though otherwise its gonna be a hefty coughing fit.

I normally break the buds up a little before they go in the grinder, the main plus of using one is that you don't end up with trichs all over your hands, they get stuck in the grinder or they go into the joint, if you're crafty you can put the finer ground/crystally stuff in the top of the joint to make it stronger for yourself.

Damn right. It's great when you've smoked your last bit of weed, gagging for another J then you remember about the load of shit in the bottom of the grinder %)
 
Never really liked the taste of crystal joints, much prefer to use a bong or pipe. A tiny bit in the bottom of your grinder is usually enough for quite a few bongs and they get you seriously baked.
 
Fuck, round here you're looking 12.50 off 90% of the dealers these days if it's above mid-grade. Although, looking back 4 years ago we were coming out of the spray epidemic so you have to weigh things out. Still ridiculous though and not a price I think I'll ever be willing to pay. I'm finding now it's best to just look out for the good hashes for the more potent smokes for value and just stick to cheaper mids for the daily toke.

I feel american with all this mids/swag/shit.

That is the reason i still use it! panic when you run out and yer tearing through yer drawers in hope theres that lil bit of hash in the bottom of a baggy but no... then the moodlift when you spy yer grinder thats helped you bust up an oz of stinking buds over the last week... ahhh a feeling worth bottling :D

as for the whole etiquette of grinding, gotta be cured buds, broken down off the stalks, each bud fits nicely between the teeth on the side with the holes and only grind with the buds in the top section, never EVER turn yer grinder upside down when grinding or your pollen will fall back thru the mesh and get turned into hash thats pasted to the sides of the grinding bit and to retrieve them you end up carving bits of aluminium into it when ya scrape it off.. fucking annoys the hell outta me that does... as you can see ive thought about this too much =D
 
I used to have one that looked just like that, was class, I miss it.. Pocket-sized and metal (mine was purple hehe) is definitely the way to go.

Ahh mate i was gunna suggest you look for a 5 piece with the 2 mesh screens, its like the bubble bags of a dry sift grinder...thats a sentence and a half!

but i saw you bought..never mind eh

separates your green from its trichs and stalks and mini bits of leaf matter then the 2nd screen only allows through the resin gland heads and keeps the trich stalks and plant matter in that screen, best of both worlds, a grinder that produces full melt is what ya want!

I tend to agree if im out an about, never bring my spacecase to parties etc but the little bad boy i got i do, grinds enough for 3 fat spliffs, my mate has one the thickness of a clipper! grinds up a bong at a time lol, or 10 loads for a spliff!
 
This is my one, nice lil teflon ring around it the edge too to stop it sticking. Needless to say it stays at home. If im going to a party ill grind all my bud and stick it in a baggie, so much easier to roll from too. Poke finger in, brush off, repeat till joint is full.

And indeed at the putting the bud into the larger side, so annoying when you end up with a ring of sticky green round the side that sticks and catches at every opportunity!

On another note, having worked in a headshop, those plastic grinders are SO cheap cost wise. The £3 ones cost less than 50p in tens! Bongs are equally as horrifically priced up. £40 in the shop, less than £5 from the wholesaler!

Not on about the simple ones either, shit like this:

I've had two of those little tiny Head Chef ones, lost them both though :(. They've got the pollen catcher bit etc but are pocket sized, great for taking out the house (I wouldn't carry my other grinders out the house unless I had a bag with me). They would grind up enough for 1 J at a time if you're lucky, normally takes two goes to get a decent spread.
 
never lost a grinder yet! i know the ones yer on bout, they're not too bad esp for the price! :) if you want a real decent stay at home grinder and have the coin to drop on it, get a titanium space case, they are the bollox, got this coating on the teeth so they never blunt! a quick wash with isopropyl alc when its gacked up and its new again :)
 
I could never justify dropping £50 on a piece of machined metal
 
I've got an Easyleaf, no crystal catcher, can't see the point...why wouldn't you want to smoke the crystal that falls off the bud with the bud it fell off?

don't use a grinder for spliffs anyway, only used it for vaping weed.
